Great video, but it is shown multiple times that Pb doesn’t intentionally make the candy people stupid. Most of them are just constantly coddled like children by her never having chance to really “grow up” but they can if they’re on their own as seen with cinnamon bun.

To me bonnie is person who wants to protect her people/children from any danger but the way she does it is not great but she isn't awful as people make her out to be, hell it showed many times pb doesn't like the stuff she does but she feels like she has to do it to protect her people, pb is overhated as a character and I'm happy to see more videos like this on KZbin

Your title may be misleading but unlike any other yt review analysis on pb's character, you understood her intentions better, know most of her past and knows what its like to be in their shoes and its what i like most in every character reviews rather than just give some misunderstood opinions to defend or attack the given characters, Its assuring to rewatch by questioning the psychological minds of a character of leading through regrets or bad habits to futher understanding the they on what they have to go thorugh. And its wonderful that you've decided to give effort on her development of her nurturing of a better redemption.

You're wrong.Princess Bubblegum was never the villain,it's just she isn't the most virtuous character,but she's was NEVER evil,she's just complex and just makes poor choices,besides Woody in the first Toy Story movie did some terrible and stupid things and made some bad choices,but soon learns his lesson when he and Buzz Lightyear where kidnapped by Sid at his house and it seemed like they were gonna die,but they escaped and in the end of the movie,Woody truly showed he isn't as evil his fellow toys assumed he'd be because it looked like Woody pushed Buzz out of the window on purpose,when in reality,it was an accident and he was begging for forgiveness,so the same could be for Princess Bubblegum.she was also poorly written,the creators of Adventure Time made big mistakes on what direction they would go with her,similar to how Tobey Maguire is a terrible Spider-Man but he's a good Peter Parker,while Andrew Garfield is good Spider-Man but he's a terrible Peter Parker,while most people say Tom Holland is good at being Spider-Man and Peter Parker at the same time,but he does still pretty has his own flaws,so the same can be for Princess Bubblegum,I know she most certainly not the most virtuous character and makes bad choices and does stupid things,but that don't mean she's evil,also,ever heard of the word "Redemption"?,yes,Princess Bubblegum has done some not very noble things,but she can still redeem herself and make a change for the better,Princess Bubblegum isn't as dumb as a brick,as she also has a conscience knowing right from wrong,it's just she's made some mistakes here and there,because after all,no one's perfect,I mean besides,Princess Bubblegum is the kind of person that deserves a second chance,even more so than Justin Bieber,considering how Justin Bieber is hated.it's not like Princess Bubblegum is gonna lose her shit and kill everybody and destroy everything and have the whole wide world or going out of her way(and out of her mind)trying to take over the world or do some creepypasta crap.just leave Princess Bubblegum alone,she's not truly evil,she's just flawed and the writers of Adventure Time ruined her character,so give her a second chance,what are you guys,from the dark ages?aren't we in an era of "gentle quality" and all that jazz,what if you're actually blaming an innocent person without trial and being considered innocent until guilty in a court of law or finding somebody to investigate it,and besides,I already know another female tv/movie character that is actually evil all along,as she's done some terrible things that are much worse than Princess Bubblegum did,that being Aimy Mcree from that terrible God awful Aimy in a Caige movie on Tubi,I hate that movie,Princess Bubblegum is not as evil as you'd think,in fact,Fionna and Cake from the Fionna and Cake series on HBO Max are actually evil because they're psychopaths who are willing to kill anyone in their way,but Princess Bubblegum was NEVER the villain,it's Fionna Campbell from the Fionna and Cake series who is the one,true real villain of Adventure Time.get your facts straight and go do your homework.

Well, some characters you mentioned only reinforce the idea of her being bad, as they only realize that the decisions they made were wrong after they had already made them, without considering what they might cause and who would be affected by their actions

@@ThinkerToons but Woody from Toy Story was never bad,I mean he wasn't the most virtuous character in the first Toy Story,but in Toy Story 2,Toy Story 3 all the up to Toy Story 4,Woody made a change for the better,as Buzz Lightyear became his best friend throughout the Toy Story franchise,while the people who made all three live action movie incarnations of Spider-Man(both Sony,and even Marvel,the mcu and Disney included)have took Spider-Man's character and what's canon in the comics for granted,and as a result,we've got three live action movie Spider-Man variants that are great in their own way,but how accurate they were to the comics actually varies depending on the Raimi Trilogy,The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2,and Spider-Man Homecoming.also,Aimy Mcree was always evil,Princess Bubblegum is very calming and cute and sweet,while Aimy Mcree scared the living shit out of me so much,the whole movie,"Aimy in a Cage",gave me anxiety attacks everytime I go to sleep after I watch it on Tubi,and Fionna Campbell from the Fionna and Cake is evil,because she's actually a psychopath wanting to kill anyone in her way,Princess Bubblegum wouldn't actually commit war crimes like that when in battle,so you're also wrong about that,those characters I mentioned do not in any way reinforce the idea of her being bad,but instead the opposite,I mentioned them only to debunk it,just like how the Ed Edd n Eddy purgatory theory was also debunked,because the creator of the show,Danny Antonucci,came out and said that the theory was not true,as he never intended the series to take place in some purgatory when he created the series in the first place,I'm not stupid,if I was trying to reinforce the idea of her being the worst person on earth,I would be dumb as a brick,but I'm not,I'm actually telling the truth,I'm not stupid,I've been actually going to school,before I graduated because that was a eternity ago as I'm almost 27,and I've been doing my homework,so I'm not stupid,totally.

​@@brendenesguerra8488your research was done right, the most saddest part is that many ppl have tend to target princess bubblegum like a pure evil,manipulative monster rather than being one of finn's important and trustworthy friend, it's been a shame that most of pb's good deeds are one of the most important parts in the storyline, where in one of the earliest episodes in adventure time is where she was one of the first characters to introduce finn the human, the "enchiridion" which later on improve finn's development that help him later get stronger in the series. In one of the greatest things a friend could have done is that she has saved both finn and Jake in real danger many times including that one episode where richardio kidnaps both of the heroes and was trying to kill of lady unicorn's children while being pregnant it that made Pb furious and beat the living sh*t out of him by tearing out his limbs. For another example is when Pb's relationship with marceline was not that perfect but when marcy's stuff animal/ old friend (hambo) was captured by Masha the witch in that one episode, Instead of pb telling marceline that she was crazy over a kids toy, she would rather risked her kingdom to be destroyed by the evil witch, to help rescue hambo back to marceline to prove she had loved her. Yes by many opinions of ppl who called her a cold person by what she did in the past, she is somewhat loyal to her friends and the ppl she cares the most, a princess cannot be optimistic but even if your more than a 100 years old can make you stressful by taking care with too much responsibilities, and like Simon who was possessed by the crown to become Ice king, I found a similar story between their mental health which they can act crazy for the sake of facing danger ahead of them, when their both a genius scientist the reason of my answer is that fact I refuse to believe that princess bubblegum is not a villian is that a antagonist never trust the main character and will cause major harm to the storyline which they can act "fake" or to take "control" without the main characters knowing their intentions. But to match with what princess bubblegum treats her friends when it comes to major danger from that one example on that war season when the main characters have to go against gumbald who is the villain to take princess bubblegum down, finn always take control and stopped the war and telling princess bubblegum to trust her friends which she did and surrendered first because trusting finn finally letting her know that the fight she would take her anger against is not worth to be fighting for. Princess bubblegum was not meant to be a villian but rather a "broken character "who was forgiven by the protagonist and was willing to change although she made an impact for her backstory but it's not worse as what the actual villians did in the future, many ppl keep bashing pb harshly saying she doesn't deserve to be forgiven and mostly blames her for unsolvable problems, but that doesn't mean that she is the bad guy here. She has a strong will purpose to exist in the show by being a big help in the team so she is a well balanced character with a dark past to leave behind and now she left being a dictator because she also hated having tough responsibilities that lead her through regretful actions, and finally living with her girlfriend in the end to have some normal bonding time to give her enough rest and building a good relationship with marceline.
