I’ve sampled this podcast many times over the years because I really want to like it. But the blunt truth is John talks too much. For this episode I tried a simple test: I fast forwarded through it, stopping at ten random points. And seven times (so 70%) I found myself listening to John. That’s crazy given the number of co-hosts….

And consequently the insights of the guests are rare, brighter and more interesting

Everyone agrees on this.. this episode especially. Eliana got like 10 words in.. like why have a guest on, when you never let her make any points.. and when she was about to make a point at 54:27 ...she says, "and that is why their products have been...... " ..and of course John steps all over her actually making her point.. and they never get back to what she was going to say. That's the most annoying part and it happens like 30 times a show haha

It’s the running joke of the pod. John monologues while the rest sit and listen

What is the alternative to the unitary executive -- and how does it convey the will of the people? Doesn't bureaucracy mean the end of govt BY the people FOR the people?
@excellentcomment17 сағат бұрын
I don't know the name of the fellow without the glasses in the lower left hand corner and I don't find his name in the description or elsewhere but I love his insight that Trump may have issued the executive order to fire the adversarial and Marxist inspector generals in order to show the American people the depth of the gridlock in our federal government. People will reasonably ask, why doesn't he fire The employees who refuse to carry out our mandate. Here's the answer. It also seems logical that any inspector general who is not motivated by politics, would step down when asked by the president. They should serve at the pleasure of the president of the United States of America. They are not our elected representatives. He is.

Wow, was this a terrible show. I quit watching after John comically tried to equate prosecution of Trump's very real crimes to a hypothetical group of agents peddling rumors about Obama's birth certificate. John, you're literally crippled by partisanship. What a dumb analogy.
@djjdnewyork115 сағат бұрын
You're completely uninformed as to clear DOJ protocol guiding the *timing* on prosecuting officials. Putting aside the substance of Trump's "crimes" (which one really shouldn't--i.e., the "insurrection" prosecution was a manifest joke--the documents case was laughably hypocritical, in context), Jack Smith came across as a frothing-at-the-mouth loon in his super-transparent attempts to affect the election via his push regarding timing. Even partisan observers concede the point His "team" of DOJ attorneys are frothing-at-the-mouth loony--and, of course, vehemently anti-Trump--by association. Good riddance.

Great to have Eliana on Pod. This was a good topic to hash over. As someone who has worked in very large corporations, every executive CEO change brought a new team, new initiatives and re-structures to achieve that goal. So Trumps stuff is par for course. He will get challenged by labor laws etc, but there is no ‘forever’ job ( unless you are SCOTUS)
@VanderJamКүн бұрын
True. But many of them bring crippling change and chase away the middle management beating heart of the company. We've all seen more than a few incompetent executives. Let's just hope that's not what's happening here. Would be great if our parents and/or grandparents keep getting their social security checks, etc..

I don't know if it's come up but, The U.S. Coast Guard now officially refers to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America; this was from a military news feed. Its commander has been fired by Trump.

Three cheers for Eliana! Nailed it. Go Trump Go! And even if there's a legal case, what Trump is doing is right and just. The point being made is right-on!!!
@TheSamcallan13 сағат бұрын
So breaking the law in this case is "just"? This is not about some right like sitting on a bus. At least in those cases the person was actually willing to go to jail for violating the law.
