Yeah I saw this first hand myself. An MLM had a bunch of studies they funded that didn't prove any of their claims, but they still referenced them to push products, knowing the average person wouldn't read them.

They should at least read the discussion and conclusion. Abstract, tells you almost nothing besides whether the content may be relevant to what you want to know.
