Great overall game. I would give it a 8/10. I was surprised at how much I loved playing as viola and her battle music is awesome. I would love to see viola get her own game. It'll be interesting to see what Bayonetta 3 performance and gameplay will look like if it is released to other platforms. My minor gripes are the Kaiju battles and Jeanne stealth levels. The Kaiju battles are ok to me and I would rather play as Jeanne with gameplay similar to Bayonetta and viola. Hellena Taylor really missed out being a part of the final game in the Bayonetta trilogy.

Seriously, even the japanese journalists said that western care about moneys, about the trend, about "realism" in videogames and this is how it ended: most of the games nowadays are looking the same and same soup, high graphics, less creative designs. But games like THIS Bayonetta its something fresh, same for Star Ocean 6, Stray, Ghostwire Tokyo etc... Western journalists can go to lick sony's butt, because a game like this Bayonetta will NEVER be released uncensored for other consoles but also: more graphics mean less contents, and this game its amazing, they did an great job, its enjoyable, long lenght, too many contents! ...if only capcom taking example from THIS and stop making less budget games with high graphics (see how they trashed Resident Evil 3 Remake lol)

Not digging the demon slave much personally and the 35fps or whatever it's running at is noticably bad for such a precise quick reacting game. Feels bad hopefully I'll adjust haven't been able to play much yet. Less graphics more scale just for the demon slave I could have done without demon slave and had better graphics and frame rate. If this was on PS5 or even PS4 would have been better but that wasn't gonna happen obviously so is what it is. Demon slave shouldn't have been in the game 4 button attack controlling a large monster in slow motion is well lame as far I'm concerned and seems to be over used. Still have a way to go improve my skills and at least beat the game but overall for me probably looking to be the worst of the 3 games but still a good game 6.5 outta 10 which for me is a solid good game overall. Rarely do games get 8 or 9 out of 10 from me those are the best games of a generation certainly I hope I can get more into liking the game maybe can give it a 7 but have to play and find out

I got the trinity edition of Bayo 3, and I'm now in chapter 8. I love this game but I think it has 2 problems: 1. pop in (which doesn't accrue a lot but it's definitely notable) 2. Jeanne stages, which SUCK. Still an awesome game though, it was worth the wait.

Is it Witch Time duration not feeling consistent? It actually depends on when you dodge an enemy attack. Dodge really early and you get a very short amount of WT, dodge really late/just before the attack hits and you get the longest amount of WT.

@@rj_4mp100 cause at the end of the dodge animation I get hit and then with the wicked weaves/demon masquerade the animations have that thing at the end where you are almost standing still

@@NightyN-eye-t you can dodge right as your weaves come out, which will cancel the recovery animation for it. The timing is tricky though, dodge too early and you cancel the entire weave instead. I’d recommend going into the training area to get used to the timing. This technique and dodge offset were essential (for me at least) in beating the first game on the harder difficulties. I’m curious to see if it’s still the same for Bayonetta 3.

@@NightyN-eye-t you should replay the games on higher difficulties! The first game in particular does something really cool on the highest difficulty: they completely remove Witch Time. But don’t bother playing 2 on higher difficulties, it’s a slog to get through. A lot of that games flaws rear their head in the harder modes.

Its definitely better than Bayonetta 2. Bayonetta 2 was so unsatisfying to replay (esp on the highest difficulties) with all the gameplay and balance issues in the game. 3 corrects a lot of mistakes 2 made while also adding in a lot of new deep mechanics (better weapons, Demon Slave). The real question is will it have the longevity and creativity of Bayonetta 1?

Beat the game finally about an hour ago, I had 0 performance issues playing start to finish on my Switch lite, overall as someone who has beaten Bayonetta 1 and 2 more than 5 times each now, I would say 2 is the best, then 1 and finally 3, not to say 3 is by any means a bad game but the story and everything else factored in, just made it not my favorite. I would rank it an 8/10.

Quality stuff RGT 85. Bayonetta 3 is most definitely fun too Play guys, regardless of the flaws. The Art-style looks slightly different too the other Bayonetta Games but the High Octane Action is just so awesome. A New more Powerful Switch System is a must for Games like Bayonetta 3 and others.

Nintendo definitely needs to bring on their successor to the Switch. A lot of games have been suffering from the dated hardware. But to be fair. When Nier Automata released in 2017 on PS4, it suffered from simplistic looking environments, constant framerate dips. I mean it would drop to the 20s, when too much was going on. It never stayed close to 60fps. Stayed between 40fps-60fps. All this and PS4 is more powerful hardware than Switch. But nevertheless Bayonetta 3 gameplay is a masterpiece. Also despite it looking dated. Still one of the best looking games on Switch.

I play games on all of them and the one that keeps disappointing me is the switch. I am sorry, but people that usually respond like this have not double dipped on the same game on a better system. Let me give you a different example. Elden ring on series x was good. Then i bought the PC version and it felt like completely different game at 100 plus fps and max settings. So the same applies to some series x and ps5 games that just shug along.

Great review. The more gameplay footage I see of Bayonetta 3, the more I am convinced that it is the game that I didn't know that I needed to play. It is very tempting to go out and buy a copy, which I probably will do at some point. So Bayonetta 3 is just like the Xbox 360 version of the first Bayonetta which also had its issues with frame rate like I said the Switch and Xbox 360 are so similar in hardware.

This new Bayonetta in my opinion has some problems that in my opinion ruin the game. 1. Too many cinematic and a bit of gameplay. 2. More running or puzzles than actual combact. 3. The boss fight are too easy and most of the time you end up to kill the boss with a cinematic. 4. Soundtrack are mid compared to the other games of Bayo. 5. Story line that at the beginning was promising, but at the end was written by monkeys. 6. Viola, like come on, which time is so difficult to hit with her. 7. Overall design so bad, like for real, viola or the enemies are not fitting the Bayonetta world. 8. “The end”, no spoilers. But who knows know.

Its not a hardware issue with Bayonetta 3, its an optimization issue. Two examples, Bayonetta 1 port on the ps3 was like 10 fps, was the ps3 not able to handle an xbox 360 port? Also Bayonetta 2 the port runs flawlessly on the switch, due to the switch being a so called "tablet" it should have a ran significantly worse. Bioshock 1 2 and infinite runs flawlessly on the switch with no problems. How many people would have ever thought those games would ever be possible on a Nintendo platform. Its optimization guys.

Bayo 1 PS3 port was outsourced? Cant remember; but it was patched anyways so.not sure why people still hold onto that. Bayo 3 is doing a lot more taxing things on the hardware than Bayo 1 and 2 so you cant use that argument Its basically the same situation going on with SM3D world port with Bowser's Fury; the additional part started showing the limitations of the Switch hardware where the main course of the game runs just fine.

The truth is that Bayonetta 3 is as good as it is because of their last masterpiece Astral Chain! I was curious what they were going to do to freshen up the formula because Bayonetta 1 & 2 were very similar. Plus after Astral Chain.. That game is going to be hard to top. I bought a switch for astral chain and it became my favorite action game. I still play it to this day! I love what they did for Bayonetta 3. I’m getting Astral Chain vibes. Everything that’s new or that was changed has been a very positive experience. The beginning of Bayonetta 3 was kind of rough in the graphics & performance department but after the prologue it becomes better looking and more stable performance. It’s really not an issue. Bayonetta 3 is nailing it so far! The truth is that it is a success and it was worth the wait! This game should not be boycotted!

It really does look like it'll be the best one. That being said I wasn't particularly excited about Viola either. Remember in DMC 5 how you have to switch between characters? All I wanted to do was play as Dante. I was thinking it'd end up being the same here

I am playing the game and enjoying it. As a regular player, I do not perceive any performance issues. I guess if I use equipment to measure the frame rate I would notice, but by simply playing it, it feels great.

I haven’t even gotten close to finishing bayonetta 2 yet, but It looks like, based on your review, platinum took aspects of astral chain and Nier automata then put them in bayo 3 with it’s own gameplay loop/style. also i think platinum only made viola as a playable character because some people who started playing from the previous bayonetta games might have also played the dmc games (but that’s just a blind guess) where there is no witch time effect (to my knowledge at least) and tbh viola’s parry mechanic sounds like a nice change of pace to master

they even threw in Elevation Action Returns. As much as I liked that game back in the day it really felt out of place here and couldnt wait for the stage to end. Also do not like the giant crab spider-swinging stages

I've been playing Bayonetta 3 since launch day and I'd say its great. So far last level I beat was chapter 5. I love Viola as a character and her gameplay overall is nice but parrying vs dodging is a bit jarring. My plan for pacing this game is one chapter a day but sticking to only one is a bit difficult. On one hand I'm curious of the ending but on the other hand I don't want to go through the game too quickly. I am eagerly awaiting the chainsaw weapon called Dead End Express.

The graphics are really dated. Especially the backgrounds and items in the background. Jaggies galore. But still a great game and a blast to play. Though not as good as the past two games.

I like the game a lot. I'd say it is on equal footing with Bayonetta 2 (wth Bayo 1 coming out on top). The weapons and variety of actions you can perform are absolutely amazing (I especially love the train weapon which is taken straight out of DMC5), but its story is so undercooked and you can't choose your character in the main missions. You can only traditionally play as Jeanne in the extra missions and the Witch Trials. :/
