I know this is a two week old conversation, but I just wanted to add that one of the qualifications for induction is that your first album must have been released at least 25 years prior to induction. 'Golden Feelings' came out in 1993, 26 years ago. He is just recently eligible. I feel he will be inducted. He is very influential and I hear his sound in many newer bands and solo artists. Arguments can be made one way or the other about the validity of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and who they choose to induct and not to induct. However, _overall_ I tend to agree with who gets in and who doesn't. I said overall there. I am shocked at some of the groups and solo artists that are not inducted, and equally as appalled at some of the inductees.
@plyjhny5 жыл бұрын
@@LilDroidBlue You might be confusing Beck, with Jeff Beck. I doubt this other Beck will be inducted. Golden Feelings may have come out in 1993 but I do believe it has to be an album of merit. The entire answer seemed very sheepish to me . Like, uhm, I have to say something positive and that’s the best he could think of on the fly . At least he didn’t tout the Anti- Psychiatry Museum .Honestly, I didn’t even know he was a CO$ until a couple years ago -even while living in L.A. in the 90’s- and am SO glad I didn’t as I would’ve absolutely not gotten to enjoy his music as I would never knowingly contribute money to anyone who might in turn give it to the CO$. We all have to draw the line somewhere, and that’s mine : Even got to enjoy seeing him play live in Nashville, TN. At a festival , as I still didn’t realize he was CO$- could’ve justified perhaps he was only 1 of many- the Violent Femmes blew all the other bands out of the water that night , in my humble opinion.
