Not being a slave to the bank... Priceless! As easy as credit is to obtain, it takes discipline and a work ethic to be debt free and indescribably worth it when you reach that goal. Freedom is addictive!

Great video Jack! Peace of mind is priceless. In this day and time not to be a slave to a job or career that you hate makes you way more “wealthy” than people realize. You’ll always have some financial responsibilities but being as we only have one life to live, live life to it’s fullest and do what makes you and you family happy. Life is short, make memories not payments. No one is promised tomorrow. Keep up the great work Yak! 🤙🏼

Small world. I’m pretty sure we were in the same platoon in basic training in 2009 at Ft. Sill. Totally agree, when I was 22 I bought a new F150 I couldn’t afford as a graduation gift from college. I was constantly stressed about making the payments. About a year later I made the decision to sell the tuck and get debt free. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

Could not agree more about being open with people about money. I used to make a living as a bartender. People in my line of work were usually very open about this stuff. Go to a different bar and those bartenders would ask "How'd you guys do last night?" Fast forward to my first "real" job and suddenly everyone was tight-lipped about income/bonuses/raises/contributions to IRA/savings/401k. It was a culture shock that bit me a few times. Glad to see you having the conversations that should be going on both in school and in the home.

Hey there Jack, just a few words to say how much I enjoyed watching this video. My wife and I recently sold our home in CA. I've been wanting to move out of that socialist state for many years. There were some circumstances that changed in our lives that opened the doors to sell and, make a good profit. We paid off all, repeat, all of our debts. What a load was taken off of our shoulders, not having to worry and, juggle our finances. We are paying rent for a short period of time and, like you said, insurance, utilities and, food are always there. We're going to be investing in some property with our daughter and son-in-law. A plus to this move is the fact that the state we moved to is a very "Red" state that protects our Constitutional rights. Every where you look there, you'll see Old Glory billowing in the breeze. God Bless you and your bride Samantha, Jack.

Now with 2024 coming to an end I only have $3k of debt and should have it paid off before the new year. I’m proud of my accomplishments of nearly getting out of debt. I'm 38 miles from Pensacola. We've had over 5 feet of rain so far this year. Thunderstorms are driving us fisherman from the rivers, bays and the beaches everyday. Please, let's not send Yak out on the water in a Kayak in the face of one of these thunderstorms. It's been Daily. Isolated, pop up, anywhere and everywhere! Salute!

It's been a Brutal year for fishing, Shotgun! I'm a fifth generation Floridian living on the Mobile Bay. Fishing is in my DNA, but this year has been very difficult. We all go out fishing pretty much expecting to get rained out, or literally running from the thunderstorms. We can't complain, though, last year we had two hurricanes. We may this year, but we'll deal with what we get. I shared this video with a good friend who recently became debt free. Guy is retiring next week and I've been working with him to help improve his financial situation over the last year. He is moving to Florida where he inherited a house and has already been hired and will start working pretty quickly upon arrival. He and I were talking yesterday and he was telling me he wanted to buy a jeep or a BMW. Guy just paid off his truck! I thought and prayed all day about what to say to him. What kind of advice i could give my old friend (of over 50 yrs) without being over the top, so to speak. And then, Yak drops this video. I forwarded it and my friend enjoyed watching and was given a different way forward. I am really grateful for the work that Yak puts into these. So much practical advice. Tight Lines to you Shotgun. I'm heading out to see if I can get some fishing done in the Mobile Bay. Wish me luck!
