At Apex and some other prop firms, if you failed an evaluation it will automatically reset when the monthly subscription renews...so you don't need to pay for a reset.

I would suggest grabbing a few accounts. Because you get more swings. If you fail your eval, you don’t have to reset. It will auto reset upon next monthly billing fee (80%off). So if you grab a few accounts you can get a few more swings without paying reset fees. Then once one is passed, just cancel the others if you want.

So my counter argument to this used to be that I considered each account at 80% off a bullet in the revolver. I would pick up 3-4 accounts and if (when) I failed an account I would discard it and the next account would be my "reset", but for way cheaper than the actual reset fee - assuming your using 25k accounts. This does work to a degree, but the problem is I would end up treating the accounts almost like paper trading, making reckless trades, adding to losers, ect. I did finally learn to slow down and got funded, but I would have been better off doing as Korbs recommends here and just getting one account and treating it more like real money. I would have saved myself money in the long run for sure.

This assumes that a trader is going to need resets. Some just need longer times. Like you mention start with one or two. These discounts are coming regularly.

Well you’re actually wrong in the sense of when the accounts renew every month, they are extremely MUCH MUCH cheaper then they would be if you didn’t get them at 80% off I believe if I’m not mistaken. So for instance I bought 3, 150k evals, each one was $31. And every month I’ll get billed $60 for each one. I’m pretty sure that’s way better then paying the $317 a month

Not true about the reset fee. You can simply just cancel the account that you failed, & sign up again with the 80% off code.

Is this account 80% off all months even if you fail? I know you would need to pay the reset fee, but besides that the only fees you will have is the 80% off monthly cost right?

Hey Korbs, want to thank you for the wonderful work you are doing with Volume Profile. But can you help us by making a youtube video on Swing Trading using volume profile, it would be really helpful for people like me who are working professionals, who don't have time to do intraday trading and can only do swing trading. Love from INDIA 👍

If you have one of the 80% monthly subscriptions and fail an evaluation, can't you just wait for the subscription to renew and the account to reset and thus avoid the reset fee?
@korbstrading
@korbstrading 2 жыл бұрын
Nice question. The monthly fee will not reset your account. You will just get charged for another month and still have a failed account.

@@korbstrading, I believe they changed that where the monthly fee resets the account if you fail.

Yes, if you fail the evaluation I believe you get a free reset with Apex. They've been doing this for a few months now I think, and most (but not all) firms now offer this. So there is no real need to reset if you can wait a few weeks until your account is rebilled, as you get a free reset if you fail an evaluation (but obviously don't do that by staying small). Also, with some firms (e.g. Bulenox) you pay a one-time fee after you pass the evaluation rather than a monthly data fee (generally a sim account like Apex so no real exchange data fees payable) so having multiple accounts can be cost-effective if you are consistently profitable. Multiple accounts, if traded responsibly, can be replicated too, so for some people buying multiple evaluations from the same firm at these low prices is worthwhile. But you make an excellent point about FOMO! Easy to fall into the trap of having too many accounts which can be wasteful unless you actively trade them all. Enjoying the content, thanks Korbs!

Yep Apex and Bulenox both will reset your eval if you failed and the subscription renews.

The discounts are always in such a bad timing and thats the trick. I mostly dont trade at all on december so basicly id pay for a full month without trading

Why the hell people even bother with apex in the beginning or even worse, topstep? FTMO, MFF, if they have the assets u want to trade, are better in every single way? xD You realize apex wants a "data fee" (lol) after you pass? How much? Another challenge fee basically, but no -80% off. People like getting screwed? BS rules like u cant withdraw over 6k/month from the biggest (300k) account, trailing drawdown. Bruh, these firms are SHIT. MFF or FTMO the way to go. And yes, I trade futures and commodities, not FX
