Hey guys! To those who don't know me or my podcast that is huge and is normally audio only, I would like to give my sincere apology if I came off not to your liking.Brooke and I are friends and it's unfortunate if my sarcasm or sincerity did not shine through in this interview. I am also taking these comments as a way to sharpen my interview skills especially when it comes to interviewing friends, since it seems that I came off less professional or even unlikable to some of you so again, I want to thank you guys, including the mean comments for the feedback so I can be better for next time! I will try to be more self aware with how I come off to the outside, thank you.

I have never seen ur podcast and I don't think u came off that way. I think people are used to hearing self deprecating humor like Brooke does on her podcast and I think u asked rlly good questions just they were maybe new and a little uncomfortable for Brooke. I think u are just a confident person and were giving genuine advice and ppl interpreted it in a different way than u meant it.

I read that you said interviewing friends and videoing podcasts is new to you and I think being on others podcasts is new to Brooke! I think you both did an amazing job and being able to try new things w friends is special, it’s okay to feel awkward or it get a negative reaction. Life goes on, good on both of you for trying new things

The type of person you are shines through in this comment. So many people would get defensive and react accordingly. Instead, you saw that a portion of your audience thought you were treating your friend in a flippant or unkind way. You took the criticism and used it constructively and are also taking notes to better your hosting skills to be the best host you can be. Again, this really speaks volumes about your integrity, kindness and your overall self. Kudos to you, Violet!

Honestly as someone who speaks another language and has another cultural background other than the American one I think it could be a reason why it’s might feel off in regards to the host but anyway I think it’s good that Brooke puts herself in different scenarios that causes her to be able to communicate with different kinds of cultures/walks of life/ and views. I think Brooke did well and I think the host did well picking Brooke too. ✌️

Reminder that people with ADHD and similar disabilities/disorders often communicate with others by relating to themselves and finding shared experiences. It’s not about her not wanting to listen to Brooke, it’s about sharing that she understands what Brooke is saying . Where a lot of the commenters are seeing the host as “annoying” or making everything about herself, I see a neurodivergent person having a conversation in the way many of us do. She still focused the interview around Brooke, she was just relating to her and seeking to connect with her.

I feel like Brooke was being so open and vulnerable and divulging things I’ve never heard her speak about on the Cancelled Podcast… and Violet did not make it a safe, non-judgmental space. Weird. Dislike. But also I really enjoyed her deep discussion about the tough topics; I’ve been through similar things in childhood and in choosing toxic partners, and it was really refreshing to hear her speak on relatable topics.

I’m 10 minutes in and I love Brooke and this is my first time watching this host, and I don’t see what everyone means in the comments 😅 she doesn’t seem condescending to me, I think they’re just sharing experiences. I really don’t think she meant any harm in anything she said to Brooke. Just in the first 10 minutes she’s genuinely complimented Brooke for who she is as a person, idk if I’m not observing their interaction correctly or what, but I don’t see the issue 😂 I also saw a few people mention that the host’s first language isn’t English, so I do think that could be a factor in the way she comes off, not that I see anything wrong with how she comes off in the first place 😂

Hearing Brooke talk about her parents and them being gone for days and think it was “normal” is very relatable to me. My father is and was a drug addict and he would go missing for days at a time and I felt sad but mostly relieved bc when he was home he was abusive. I also have adhd and anxiety and I know it’s definitely rooted in how I grew up and what all I went through especially as a child. Seeing a parent on drugs and in a dangerous lifestyle can cause you to be scared/have anxiety as a child and while you’re developing it makes sense why we are adults still in fear… that’s part of our make up.

I had the same thing, I was diagnosed with bi polar & the medication made me SO sick, like my body was rejecting it. So I just stopped taking it obviously, and later on when I found an amazing doctor he was able to really parce through everything and it was ADHD. Now I'm on proper medication and I honestly have never felt more emotionally stable and clear headed. Immediately I knew the medication was right and it helped more than I can even express. It's crazy how close some of these mental illness symptoms are & can be really confusing.

Glancing over the comments I feel like a pretty good majority of people who are listening might be a first time listener of this podcast. Brooke is such a girls girl and seems to be a genuinely nice person so I can see how her followers might not get the best vibe here but I truly don’t think Violet was trying to be shady or anything like that. I think the way she was raised plays a role in why she might not immediately come off as warm and cozy. Plus the country she was raised in might also have a little something to do with it and I don’t even mean that in a negative way.
@marianneserret3235

I somewhat agree. Brooke is more cozy vibes. perhaps the host wasn’t being purposeful but she didn’t have to laugh when Brooke mentioned her parents or say “I am not sorry for you I am just expressing” or whatever the fuck. She cut B off during mental health convos. I know this could be ADHD but still rubbed me the wrong way. The whole thank god “I only kissed matt rife” thing.

Realizing my mom had me when she was 23 the same age I am now. She’s been gone since 2019 but I’m newly engaged, definitely not ready for a baby right now. But I wish she was here to talk to about that, i can ask my dad but it’s not the same. I feel like she really understood my bpd even when it felt like no one understood me. I wish I could tell her how great she was with me through my roughest times, even when she was sick. She always let me be a teenager still and that I’m so grateful for, have been off meds for a while now and have done lots of cbd and grief therapy. I haven’t watched her in some time I’m glad to see her again, she’s definitely improved and grown as a person which is beautiful to see but one thing that rubbed me the wrong way, is near the end she asked “so are there any questions that u think I should’ve asked?” It just made my anxiety freak out a second because It made me feel like Brooke was going to comment on the “undertone” for a second and start an argument. “Should’ve” is not the right word..never tell yourself you should have done something because that is negative. Idk. Also after that you kept telling Brooke she’s an amazing person “based on her upbringing” but she’s amazing human being regardless of that..I know what you meant but that was another undertone that was a little triggering. I hope you take this as constructive criticism with love, you did a great job it’s just some choice of words near the end that others may pick up on as negative meaning..maybe English is not your first language or raised in another language which might explain the “harsher” or “more direct” words that are chosen when you speak here and there..my step mom is similar when she English (she’s Spanish) but she’s learning and has explained that she’s working on not coming across so “harsh”. Love you Violet and I hope you read this as some insight coming from someone that is a viewer! ❤❤ 💜

Didn't find you disrespectful at all, I think you're socialised well enough to know what people's boundaries are.

Research all that you take! My mom took clanazapam for too many years and ended up passing away from liver disease caused by the pill she took for anxiety! She never drank alcohol!

I thought this was a great podcast. I’m not sure what the other ones are talking about the host being rude but I think maybe some people didn’t understand her jokes because of her accent. I thought she was genuinely interested in what Brooke had to say and ask a lot of great questions
