You have to pay to play with the snobs, lol! Dude I run knockoffs, Pinty, and certain name brands- they are the same. When you step up in calibers, look for warranties. My Beowulf only rolls with Vortex as they will replace with no questions asked. That's the only difference to me. I'm not an "operator" though. Good stuff brother!

I deal with gun snobs all day long, only thing they want to mention is Leupold with that warranty that lasts forever, no proof of purchase necessary, but I'm willing to bet if you drop it and it breaks, that's on you. If not, maybe they're worth it, but still, a $1000 RDS? Cmon

Just curious, I ordered the medium tier sro (I think, $39 before shipping) and after looking at this can see the $50 version now on wish. Do you think I should return mine and get the more expensive one? It's not that much more money just a little annoying with shipping. But I wanted to know if you think the difference is worth it?

Corbin, you're a class act and I know that what you're saying is 100% true because this is happening in almost ALL industries, not just firearm optics. Everything is just made in China by the same one or two factories and companies throw their names on them then proceed to market the hell out of them. People tend to be brand-whores and the idea "You get what you pay for" plays right into the hands of these corpoearions because they know that if you make something cost too little, people will assume that it's garbage. In the firearms world, the Savage 64F is a perfect example of this. Is it the best? No. Is it good enough? More than good enough actually. Is it expensive? No, about $100USD. The biggest industry in which you see this is home electronics. I was at Costco 5 years ago and was looking at getting a 2160p (4K) TV. I wanted something around 55" and saw the big names like Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Sony all at around $1200-$1800CAD. Then I saw this brand called Haier and their 55" 4K TV was UNDER $500CAD. I watched it for about 20 minutes and it looked pretty damn good picture-wise. So, I bought the thing and here I am, 5 years later, just thinking about the people who spent triple what I did to get the same perfect picture. There are only about 5 companies that produce LCD TV panels and these brands just throw their names on 'em. I've seen some companies that are so hard-up for a brand name to use that I've even seen TVs that were branded POLAROID (OMGETF?). Despite the insanity, our tech level is so high that it's just not worth it to make a bad TV because you won't save much money, you'll get a bad name and go bankrupt VERY quickly. Your honesty is rare, hnourable and admirable. You have a new subscriber in me, sir. Thank you for this great information.

Vortex has some stuff built in the US, and it's expensive as hell, and very high quality, then they have some budget stuff that isn't so great but still better than airsoft optics.

Facts. I was in the tech industry in Asia and it was the same thing. Today, literally everything is made in China and rebranded. And it goes both ways. Maybe an American company wants to get their stuff made in China to save money. The Chinese factory now has everything they need to make an identical copy and thats exactly what they do. Its literally the same thing. Thats why you see so many of the same things on amazon with a bunch of funny names. US companies will probably have an optic made for $5 and sell it for $400 while China is perfectly fine selling their $5 optic for $50-70.

I have 3 cantilever RDSs. Two of them are complete garbage that I am stuck with because I was too busy to send them back in time. The Vortex is super badass. The Pinty has rays that shoot out from the dot across half of the picture window and feels like it is damaging my eye. The CV Life looks identical to the Pinty but is dimmer and has half of the horrible rays. I also had a Luepold LPO clone that was ok except for the terrible glare off of the lense. I also bought another typical micro red dot from Pinty that has the crappy rays/glare. F Pinty! They have sold me 2 products that are TRASH! I have some budget TRS25 Bushnell clones that are really awesome but if you even out the money spent on the good with the bad, I could have just spent a little bit more and gotten a Ronin or a Sig Romeo 1..... Send me a shipping label and I will send you one so you can see how horrible these are....

Oh you don’t have to! I know all about how bad some of these sights are lol. This is what I was referencing when I talked about the quality tier and manufacturing modification. A lot of the eye / led issues are caused by them not installing a shade on the projector for cost cutting. And also not putting a one way glass in the middle. It causes direct flare back into the eye. I’m glad this comment is here, it shows how budget optics are a tough territory to navigate and only furthers my stance on what I’m here to do.

Might be worth emphasizing on this a bit more or people may think that you're covering for the cheapo industry. This is obviously a huge problem in the industry, but your video makes it sound like they are all exactly alike unless you listen very closely....

If you’ve had good luck with budget sights, then you will be happy that you’re getting the same quality as brand name optics. If you haven’t, well, now you know why. I’m not covering for them, nor am I defending them. I simply stating the facts, and people can do what they want with that info.
