It really is patience.Over 20 odd years I've managed to get hold of many football shirts you just have to be in the right place at the right time.My biggest pick up was a mint condition LA Galaxy Beckham shirt with badges.It may depend on the location you live as well ,I'm near London.They do sometimes overprice but it is for Charity.Enjoyed video.

I was in that Sally Army shop on Wednesday. They now keep their footy/sports shirts behind the counter and they are well over priced.

I know exactly which one, I think charity shops are obviously catching on they can be profitable but I suppose there are 2 arguments from both sides mate

I was in the Dunfermline charity shops a few weeks back - got absolutely nothing either! Saw a few Dunfermline programmes but that was it. Live in glasgow now (grew up in Dollar) - I find with the students back in certain areas of glasgow/edinburgh there's even less than usual. Keep up the good content mate 👌

I know which charity shop you’re talking about for the Dunfermline programmes they’ve sat there for months! 😂 yeah good shout mate, like it’s always a hit/miss with these things but I guess you tend to appreciate more when you do find one, appreciate the kind words mate 👍🏻

The failures need to be seen. We don’t live in a cartoon world with unicorns and sunshine all the time. Showing the reality, rather than the fantasy, is useful and keeps expectations grounded. It also means that a successful search is that much more rewarding. It may seem like this episode was a failure, but it is in fact, a great success because it shows the reality of charity shop hunting. There are 7 - 10 charity shops in what I consider my area, in different directions. But if I visited all of them in one day, I would be traveling about 75 miles that day. Finding one good shirt in that outing would be considered a good day. So, I only go to a shop if I’m running errands in the vicinity. Here in the northeast of the US, charity shops change their wares by the season, so there are fewer shirts available right now. Football is a summer sport here. Around mid-winter, the shirts start coming back out. The high point for finds comes around late-spring into mid-summer. But occasionally a good shirt shows up in the off-season, and that makes it a great day. 😊

Thanks Jon I do appreciate the comment, I was in 2 minds to put this video up but like you said it’s just to give everyone the insight that it’s NEVER as simple as it looks, for example my previous video where I found the 1999 Real away strip that’s something that RARELY happens to find something of that Caliber and like you said I never usually plan to film inside charity shops as I NEVER find anything where as if I’m passing by one I sometimes do find the odd gem, but again thanks for the comment mate really appreciated 👍🏻

In my country there is no charity shops, so it much harder to get football shirts in a good price

Im finding that looking in charity shops are a waste of time. You might find the odd one but not in good condition kid's size or with family name set on it. Too many are at it and channels like your's just highlighted popularity of collecting selling few years back. Also people leave number's to call if shirts come in and staff cherry pick before the shirt even feels the coat hanger.

Yeah it’s a good point Matthew, It’s so clichè but I genuinely have more luck finding shirts when I don’t look for them if that makes sense? 😂 and I totally get where your coming from if you’re a staff member for a charity shop and collects shirts it’s a win win isn’t it? But I guess that’s what makes it more ‘special’ when you do come across something worth buying

@@whatewensdoin5070 There is always hope you can wander across a holy grail shirt you been after for ages but that is wishful thinking lol. Also for me i have no interest in retro shirts you might aswell burn your money. It's original vintage or nothing for me.
