Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing this with us. You are right in that we all struggle with comparison stealing our joy. At times we have gone from feeling like we were on the right path, to seeing something online and then feeling inadequate and unworthy. You guys do really great work. Don't let anyone take that from you.

Guys!! Thanks so much for the encouragement! 100% right that comparison is one of the main thieves of joy!

Gosh, this is all so true. Especially the part about living in your pajamas for three months. Every filmmaker needs to hear this message!

I. Love. This. For the sake of my backlog and creativity I had to unfollow almost every single videographer that I love mostly because I found myself really discouraged, rather than inspired. Meanwhile we have a great business and bookings for 2019, inquiries for 2020, but after looking at so many other images on social media, I found myself stunted and comparison was literally stealing joy. Crazy! Great vid!

Oh man relate to this SO much! It's crazy what social media does to us :( So hard not to get consumed by it! One thing i've noticed is that the more you focus on serving others the less time you have for comparison.

Such a great video and topic to cover! Comparing yourself is so easy and it really starts to hurt your own style and goals.

WOW, what a great video. I can totally identify with what you are saying. I struggle with this all the time and it is very frustrating to the point that I don't want to go out and video or photograph anything. I feel so lost and out of place. I really admire your work and I am striving to be a tenth of the talent that you have. Watching your video is inspiring me to get up and get going. Thank you for making this video. It is just what I needed to hear and the fact that I am not alone with my struggles. Peace and blessing to you my friend!!!

What are your thoughts on shooting with the Ronin-S oppose to the Ronin-M? I have both but I find myself more comfortable shooting on the M and that I have more control of it.

This post could not have come at a better time! The market is being oversaturated with "filmmakers" and suppressing the market value. That being said, I found myself over evaluating others in comparison to my own. Thanks for the inspiration and sharing out! Keep up the great work!!!
@Forestryfilms6 жыл бұрын
Oh man feel ya on that! The market is def getting crowded! Although I think it will ultimately be a good thing because it will cause the interest for wedding videos to increase 🙌🏻 So glad this video was encouraging!

I agree. Nothing wrong with something tending becoming more of a need. The grind and quality will sort everything out! Thanks for the dialogue!@@Forestryfilms

@IVCChineseClub6 жыл бұрын
To think about someone is good like you still feel the comparison. This give me so much courage to continue work hard. Thank you for the video. PS. I love you and the Film poets, one is full of authentic emotions, the other one has godlike knowledge about filmmaking.

I compare other peoples films to see how I can better the image from my c100, thats how I can across your channel which is one of the few channels that use the c100 well.
@Forestryfilms6 жыл бұрын
I do the same thing! It's def tricky because you can use comparison to improve and get better but it can easily slip into stealing your joy.
