That she was willing to bail on a planned wedding would have been an absolute deal breaker. Who would trust somebody capable of that & think it a wise choice???
@orsolyabende81019 ай бұрын
This is exactly what i thought of that story which is of course only a part of the podcast but still. 1 month before a planned wedding after a God knows how long relationship just because they chatted in a cafe for 7-8 hours after not meeting each other for 8 years. Sounds like clearly she was either in the wrong relationship and not realizing it till that point or this is how much people are worth to her. Plus the guy literally shitted into another pair's life. Not very nice to say the least.

@@orsolyabende8101 Right!? If that’s the type of moral compass these dating apps help create, I’m glad I’ve never touched any of them. Sounds like everyone is just in it for themselves, what’s in it for me? How can you meet my expectations? What a minefield of self interested users, out there on the take.

Then they want you to carry the conversation, and look at it like you're auditioning for a date after matching them. i also found a lot of girls that were just serially addicting to hook ups . Had two dates which revealed they had more than 100 bodies, both were younger than 25. Its not the lack of matches, its also the quality of woman in dating apps vs real life. The BRUTALLY Honest Truth About Dating Apps. The Hinge CEO is boring AF

@janicetaylor57859 ай бұрын
Hinge could go in the direction of fostering friendships too. The research you've done could be really beneficial for all types of relationships. I had a thought that you could build optimum social groups, that'd be really interesting 🤔 Maybe it's only me but I think getting to know someone as friends is important, taking pressure off either person, allowing them to just get to know each other. Also that story is adorable 🥰 things happen for a reason

Bleh 1. Turning away money but lives in a 300 sf apt. 2. All of the success he mentions were initiated IRL, including his own and the meetup parties 3. Hinge has terrible ratings when sorted by most recent, which leads to; 4. Apparently none of their big modification. innovations or total rebuilds were inspired in-house by his big team but by random interviews and external serendipity. 5. Hinge costs way too much, and apparently has a 2nd pay tier once it calculates your interest types. So the 20/80 rule is reinforced. Abysmal. 6. This clown was lucky they were at the beginnings of mad app development or it would be amongst the huge numbers of new, failed dating apps. 7. His own story of how (his own) apps DO NOT predict or mimic or find enduring matches, says it all. Just another mobile reason to avoid them altogether and be real again.

I really hope that the person Deborah called off the wedding with was a shitty person, because in my opinion this guy definitely is. He went for what he thought was his love but in doing so he knowingly took this woman from someone she was promised to marry. If that guy was a good person then hinge guy did a really shitty thing to him and for that matter so did she. They had a life planned and in one conversation he took that future away. Why does loyalty seem so unimportant to people anymore? Fuck this dude with a cactus. He tries to justify it but it's not justifiable.

The fatal flaw of all dating apps is that one gender is given all of the options and the other is given none. Women feel they can afford to be extremely picky so they shoot for the stars over and over again producing the same result. But they never consider a man on their own level who may be a great person and the ideal match for them.
