What I am about to say may not age well as I don't know if he will be replaced. But I don't think they will fire him now even if that was the plan initially. That was a class win yesterday with the team he wanted to put out and Ratcliffe and Sir David were smiling from ear to ear loving the win. If they planned on it they wouldn't be brimming the way they were and soaking up the atmosphere like they were. Remember they are also business men, why would they sack him have to pay him off like the rest of the managers while having to hire another manager and pay him a lot as well with the risk of having to do the same thing two years (if they are lucky) later? They may instead think that it may be best to back him in the transfer window, with players who want to play for our club for either the money or the challenge and work on selling the rest at a reasonable price. They would also have watched his interviews and press conferences as well and would have been impressed by his answers and behaviour as they would want a man who is in charge be able to deal with pressure. Which he dealt with brilliantly. Something our own fans and other pundits don't take into consideration most of the time with their fast food fast result mentality.

I agree with you in full. Watching from Bangladesh I have the opinion that the process of change commenced its journey two years ago with ETH even before Ineos were in sight. Inios on the other hand, did an audit and decided to bring in professional leadership team. Sitting in May we dont know whats going to happen with Ashwarth, such is the fiascol. What changed then? Its same old wine in a new bottle! The inability to handle PR appropriately to reduce unnecessary pressure on football operations and protect the players n managers, the poor strategic influencing on refereeing decisions, delay in setting up leadership structure and strength of football operations, the failure to arrest ever increasing injuries by medical department, inherent weakness in player recruitment strategy and execution, absence of alignment and collaboration among hiererchies are few of the many factors that have to be considered before blaming everything on Eric. He is a worldclass coach, has the passion to bring glory to man utd due to his love for the club, has the drive to develop youth, can motivate the players and team without sacrificing fundamental principles of team and individual player discipline, he has tremendous reselience to work in all odds to come out a fighting winner, understanding of the challenges and their underlying reasons are very rare and would be suicidal to give up. He needs right support, environment and culture to become successful. The incumbent, even if capable would take time to take a grasp of this complicated scenario. I suggest Ineos should wisely continue with ETH.

I was very quick on wanting Ole, Jose, and Van Gaal gone, but it’s also been 11 years of this merry go round and Ten Hag deserves another summer and next season. If it all goes to hell by January, then sack him. But, let’s get this clear out going and get players back from injuries. We’ve seen how important Licha is to how Ten Hag wants to play and we badly need a good backup for him in case he (Licha) goes down again. There’s been a horrendous amount of injuries this season that will hopefully not happen again and we are seeing the beginnings of a talented, young nucleus with more players to come. We can’t stop this project now, he must be given this summer and let’s see what happens

I’ve been a United fan for over 50 years now. Been through the bad times before Sir Alec. Through the great years under him and through this “era” since he left. The one thing that has always stood out was the “United Way”. The way we conducted ourselves on the field and most importantly off. But since the Glazers took over these standards have dropped to almost non existent. The way former players have been treated, the scheming and back stabbing. I’m sure these things did happen but they were never plastered over the media. They should be handled with dignity behind closed doors. As for the way Eric was treated yesterday, just appalling. On a proud day for him and the club he had to spend the whole time fending off questions from morons about his future. I wouldn’t blame him if he told Ineos to F off they appear to be as classless and clueless as the Glazers.

I'm delighted he stuck it to the media, disgraceful the way they treated him after beating arguably the best team in the world in a cup final, Pep got treated better and he lost. F...ed up world we're living in. I will be disgusted if he's not given another season to see what he can produce with an injury free team. Like how many times has ten hag had to adjust the team through injuries? We've had players missing from every position this season at one stage or another. Look at us at the back yesterday by just having Martinez back, nevermind Varane, both played a blinder, and gave security to the players in front of them so they could play their own game, we didn't have that all season. Every player looked to be singing from the same hymn sheet yesterday, so if the players can do that consistently next season I think we'll take some stopping. Come on United, come on Ten hag. GGMU

I think he’s carried himself fantastically all year especially compared to jurgen and pep and their occasional meltdowns when they lose or things don’t go their way. ETH always the better man

Ten Hag IN. There is not another coach who can make sure success , so better stay with him ,the squad support him and the fans support him(most of them)

Sam, I am with your analysis 100% - the hysteria from other fan channels (mainly TUS) is painful. Yes, ETH deserves to work through his contract but I see nothing wrong with Ineos assessing those other managers. After that review, they will appoint the best person for the job, in their opinion. That can still be ETH and if it is then it’s a great vote of confidence in him. They will have followed their process as they committed to do, and measured him against those other managers! We need this sort of professionalism at our club.

3 Finals in 2 years. With that logic, sack the entire premier league managers.

If you have ever played football at any level then you will know that when form dips the confidence goes & that alone is a hard ship to turn around . Add injuries & individual form falling through the floor & it becomes a mental stranglehold on a club . Ten Haag has never shirked from the problems & i have always believed that he is the right man for this job . Give him time , hold firm in the reasons we wanted him 2 years ago & lets get new signings in & move the club forward . 3 finals - 2 cups , 3rd place finish & champions league , we are back in Europe & last season is over . We need to keep Eric & believe in the project .

What I find funny is that so many people have been crying for years about wanting a structure but now that they have one what they really want is an Ed Woodward type who is happy to change their mind based on one game/emotion. (All they actually want is someone in charge who makes exactly the same decisions as they would).

It’s crazy how one game can change the way a team and a manager is viewed. Before the game, there were reports that Manchester United have decided to sack Erik ten Hag regardless of what happened in the FA Cup final against Manchester City yesterday. Throughout the season people were 50-50 on ten Hag’s future with some saying that he deserves more time as they had 60+ injuries and they need to back him and get rid of a lot of players, while some said that he should be axed he’s delusional and out of his depth. Some of you wanted him sacked, but after one brilliant performance in the FA Cup final where you won the trophy even though they had a season to forget, now people are saying that they’re making a mistake in sacking ten Hag because he won 2 trophies in 2 years. They’re the only team who can sack a manager after winning a trophy.

The post-match interviews + press conferance were a pure and utter disgrace. What a classless bunch of... Not only over and over repeating the same disrespectful questions regarding his future at the club and the worst possible moment, but not even a congratulation for a huge trophy win against one of the best teams in the world... Shambolic to say the least. Erik IN!

Keep Ten Hag! 2 seasons and one being fully injury ridden, yet still winning a trophy in both seasons. Give him a couple more seasons with this new ownership and get him the players he wants and needs and Man U can be right back on top, just gotta give him time

Ten Hag in my opinion was held back by the attitude and effort of a number of his players. Maguire was poor, Rashford unable to produce, Greenwood and Sancho self destructed, Onana floundered for awhile, Anthony and Mount did not meet expectations, Erikson and Varane faded out... plus the injury plague. It felt like veteran players, leadership players were not playing at a level to set an example..it was the young guns who came through to bring any type of success.

I'm still not 100% convinced that it wasn't all just a ploy by Ineos to leak this information. Maybe to throw ETH off his game to lose, and force the situation, or maybe to see how he handled the pressure to essentially test his mettle, maybe to see if the players and the fans would back him, or maybe even as extra fuel to make the team and the manager bond to give them some more fight. Of course it's a bit of a stretch to think that Ineos would actually do this, and it's probably unlikely, but still we don't really know how they operate yet, we don't really know how devious they are, or are going to be. But regardless, he came through with flying colours, and seeing Pep confused in his cheap salesman suit after the game was fantastic. 🤣

He should be there next season. 100%. This seasons been rough, but you can see the team wants to play for him and they did that yesterday. Id be more focussing on clearing out overpaid/underperforming players first.

In ETH we trust !classy tactics yesterday He must be given a chance to take the team and Club forward next season ... I dont believe UTD Supporters want Tuchel , Southgate , potter or Pocc to be the next manager ..I will be very disappointed and pissed with INEOS if he is sacked in the next week !! Give him a fair go , United had 60 + injuries this season ?? Unheard of by any club ! 2 cups in 2 seasons is very good in the hardest league in the World 😊

I always wanted ETH to stay. Some fans were over reacted when we were not playing well and losing games. Fans are having short memories and not seeing things as it is. They just want to win they are not trying to understand the root cause of underperformances. They simply want to find someone to finger pointing and it’s easy to point to coach. At least Sam showed some guts to change his opinion on ETH and started to support him. More will follow soon ❤
