From Pastor Allen Nolan: The Bible teaches that God gave man a free will. In this two episode series, the doctrine of free will is explained by Pastor Allen Nolan. Every person is accountable for their own actions. Your DNA, personality, and the way you were raised might explain why you have the tendency to behave the way you do, but it doesn’t excuse your behavior. What is the theory of determinism? Do we really have a free will? What does Christianity have to say about the free will debate? In this sermon series, learn about free will, determinism, divine sovereignty, and what the Bible has to say about it all. It's all broken down in this sermon from Pastor Allen Nolan! Thank you for watching this video from Cornerstone Fellowship! We hope this helps you grow in your walk with Jesus. For more life changing resources, visit us at www.cornerstonefellowship.tv

This is the best sermon to show homosexuality is not dna or enviroment, but choice.
@Alec_Cox
@Alec_Cox 2 ай бұрын
@slaytonmarks7537 The unfortunate psychological effect of Homosexuality is when there is the recruitment, yes requirement because Homosexuality is not "born that way" as the song goes. If an alternate environment is introduced, it can make a change in the perception of, what is natural in the psyche of gratification. All one needs to do is to study the Alfred Kinsey, American sexologist and biologist, experiments on children as young as 2 months old. Kinsey wrote about pre-adolescent orgasms using data in tables 30 to 34 of the male volume, which report observations of orgasms in over 300 children aged from two months up to fifteen years of age. Kinsey rejected the prevailing views, preferring instead a behaviorist model of gender. He saw cross-dressing and crossgender identification as male phenomena and used them to speculate about sex differences in the capacity for psychological conditioning. Kinsey's research went beyond theory and interview to include observation of and participation in sexual activity, sometimes involving co-workers. Kinsey justified this sexual experimentation as being necessary to gain the confidence of his research subjects. Kinsey did not use random sampling procedures when collecting his data, that significant portions of his samples come from prison populations and male prostitutes, and that people who volunteer to be interviewed about taboo subjects are likely to create a self-selection.

What he said made sense on a worldly level, but how does a dead person make any kind of decision for Jesus? Where does it say that children are safe from condemnation or a decision at the age of accountability? We have the free will to make decisions in the world, but not the things of God. We can reason and make decisions as he said, but not to make decisions for God.

We have the ability to choose. That choice either leads us to the kingdom of God or to the demise of Satan. To believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, was crucified, died and was buried and on the third day rose again and paid the price for all our sins, saves us. There is little else in this life that is as consequential as that choice. Some would argue that there is nothing in this life that has more consequence than that choice. Everything after that choice turns on that choosing, either toward the more sublime or to the gross worldly realms. It is simply that beginning that God takes advantage of to make changes in our lives and to bring us more in line with the realm of godliness. BTW, good teaching.

There are some behaviors that are ingrained in a person that the person does unconsciously that they cannot change. Some people unconsciously shake their legs with they sit down. Even when the person becomes aware of this habit. they may still be unable to break it. I do see people refer to addictions as habits but there is distinction between a habit and an addiction. A habit is a behavior pattern the person does without being consciously aware of. An addiction is something that people have a strong desire for and will often act immorally to fulfill this desire. There is no such thing as a drug habit. The proper terminology is drug addiction.

I fine your message on Free Will interesting. I could not help but to notice that you never say anything about man's fall into sin. Jer. 10:23 says that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps. Jer. 17:9 says that man's heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it ? Scripture says that man's depraved will is against Christ. Jesus said " he that is not with is against me" Matt. 12:30. Would you have me to believe that man is the one creature that God made that He can not rule ? When I read scripture I see that God alone is the only one that has absolute free will.

I see people refer to bad decisions like stealing as a mistake, but it is not a mistake if it was intentional. An example of a mistake would be a typo. If a person does something intentionally, it is not a mistake, it is a bad decision or a sin. In my example, there are two employees that cost the company an equal amount of time. Employee A gets momentarily distracted for 20 minutes into a conversation then realizes that he needs to get back to work. Employee B takes 20 minutes away from work to play video games and is well aware the whole time that he is supposed to be working. Both employers were paid for 20 minute that they did not work and could potentially face corrective action. However, Employee A made a mistake, but Employee B didn’t make a mistake. What employee B did was make a bad choice. Employee A did not knowingly steal from the company but Employee B did knowingly steal from the company. Employee A has the ability to choose whether to apologize to his supervisor for allowing himself to be distracted or remain silent about it. Employee A could also choose to clock out at his normal time but work an extra 20 min past his shift to make up for the lost productivity or get paid for 20 minutes of productivity. If Employee A remains silent and chooses to get paid for the time he was unproductive, that would not be a mistake.

Whether God gave us free will or not doesn't remove the fact that all will freely choose to bow and confess (PRAISE) to him. (Romans 14:11) God will be all in all (1 Corinthians 15:28) Who will have ALL men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4) So please stop disregarding these truths from Scripture and leave your traditions of men behind you for good.

you are confused by the words here. A dog has a personality and a dog can learn but do not confuse conditioning with reasoning. You can teach a dog it is wrong to do something but you can not teach them why it is wrong. Conditioning is a response based on repetition, it is not the same as reasoning which is to figure something out through logic.

There is a definitive answer for the Christian if we look to the Biblical future:. If "No free will to choose" were true, then the Judgment Seat of Christ and the Great White Throne Judgment (which haven't happened yet) would not be necessary. What's to judge?, Why have them? If they were held they would be a joke -- a kangaroo court and a sham. How could souls be judged and held responsible for their actions if their actions had been predestined with no free will? That would make God so cruel and unjust . Predestination makes God a Machiavellian: the end justifies the means, no matter how devious or unjust. Our beliefs/choices make a difference! Think on these things… ...whatsovever is JUST

Adam knew it was wrong to eat the fruit and that doing so meant he would die. Eating the fruit brought sin into the world because of knowledge of Good and Evil. Because of that knowledge of good and evil it means that original sin can not exist as being passed from father to child since a child doesn't know right from wrong until they are taught or get old enough to learn for themself.
