Im a Gemini moon and wow YES. My parents were very emotionally unavailable growing up.. like they were good to me, just never talked about feelings. So, as I grew up I started to become veryyyy independent. I was obsessed with learning, watching KZbin videos about science, philosophy, social issues every single dayyyy. I definitely feel like one of my main lessons in this part of my life is to learn how to communicate my feelings though! I feel like sometimes I think so muchh that I get caught in my head. Like i create this fog and lose my path completely! The mom thing is crazy. My mom was exactly like you've described. Independent, freedom loving, mind and knowledge oriented and DIFFERENT compared to other moms. She was so unconventional and childlike sometimes. A very inspiring mom. She teached us so much about the mind and life from a very free spirited perspective. But i wouldn't say she was lacking emotional attachment towards us. It was more that she wanted to prepare us for the moments in life where we definitely need our brains. I'm a Gemini Moon and it's truly exhausting sometimes. I started writing when I was 4 years old and visited school one year earlier. But my mind is NEVER still. I'm always thinking about 1000000 things at once and my way of talking is also super quick and I'm changing from one topic to the next one. It is a hard placement ngl. Possibly more so than Scorpio moon. I feel you bro I’m the same. Sometimes is getting too ahead of yourself even in conversations with other people. Especially if what they’re telling you in a convo isn’t even interesting, sometimes you don’t even bother to listen and wander off to other topics. I’ve just learned that everything is restlessness and you just gotta learn how to channel it different bro and by that I mean, try meditating, or pacing down, take deep breaths and slow your mind and just be in the moment. That's true for me. I'm a gemini moon and when I was younger I wanted a mother who was much more nurturing than she was. My mom is an an aquarius. Intellectually, I knew I was loved but emotionally I was left wanting for more. However I always felt I could speak to her about everything that was happening at school, etc. It was confusing because on the one hand I could speak my mind with her but on the other hand I felt misunderstood and unloved. But as I grew up, I realized that each person has a different way of expressing themselves but that doesn't mean they don't feel or care and it's wrong for me to expect them to act and respond to things the way I think they should. So I understand her now and I don't hold any hard feelings against her.

I grew up with a very emotionally manipulative and physically abusive mother. The one thing she could never break or control was my mind. I’m a Pisces ♓️ sun mars and Venus and although I’m tapped into my emotions with all that 💦, sometimes I feel overwhelmed taking in everyone else’s energies and feeling more for them (unreciprocated care and compassion) and having nothing left for myself. 12th house moon makes me more emotionally aware but it was being channeled through a mercurial funnel. I use to feel like I was drowning and needed to come up for air and my gem moon 🌝 was my life raft. I’ve really tuned into the north node transits and it’s helped me a lot of the past few years (starting with my nodal return of course) to develop healthier boundaries between myself and other and put my needs first. I think having a healthier 🌞 in a water sign (feeling and emotions) has empowered me to where I don’t have to rely so much on my moon in air (thought/intellect) and to get a better handle on my life and response to undesirable situations. Both my biological parents are smart. My dad was super smart and accomplished but absent from my life and my stepdad stepped in and did all the positive things you attributed to the mother. I did not experience snuggles and hugs growing up just lots of encouragement and support academically from my stepdad and complete indifference from my mom. My mother was all the negative things described of the parent in this video. The detachment is very true and boring, ill-prepared/informed teachers/instructors are my kryptonite. WOW WOW WOW. Meredith you read me like a book. I am a Libra sun, Gem moon in the 9th and have my Mercury in Libra in the 12th. Both of my parents are extremely smart. Father has a PhD in Physics and Mom has Masters in Computer Engineering. My brother, who is a Vigro moon is also super academically smart as well. I always felt like the odd one out because I could care less about college. I just want to be doing something creative with my career. My Father is a Gemini and was emotionally and phyically abusive towards me and my Mom, but had custody of my brother and I for 10 years. During that time, I did not see my Mom (who is an Aries and Aquarius rising) and felt detached from her but now as an adult we are super close and I can call her any time of day for a conversation or advise. I find it SO SO hard to express myself emotionally to the people I love, and I do fear that I come off as shallow to them even though I know in my heart that's not the case. I get secretly jealous when I see my friends having these vulnerable attachments and bonds because I want to be vulnerable too, but like you said, we live in fierce independence and defensiveness in our thoughts so I can't always go there and I get annoyed with people who don't know how to be alone. I get bored SO easily too. I love to be around smart yet caring people. I do however LOVE to socialize and I make friends very easily and I don't like when I see someone alone at a party. This is true for me. Aquarius sun, Gemini moon. A lot of air in my chart. Both of my parents are scary intelligent but with a wild streak. They were the black sheep of both of their own families and were a little too free. I definitely wished they were more nurturing, more aware, and more emotionally intelligent. i am a Gemini moon in the third house with the moon in the waxing crescent phase when i was born. i havent watched rhe full video yet, but i did have a very emotionally distant mother and i craved closeness. my mother is very cynical, critical, and avoidant. she didn't really teach me to be independent as much as i was forced into it. i had to think for myself and learn to take responsibility for myself. i felt a strong sense of rejection which lead to isolation, which is very different from a parent that accepts you which gives a solid foundation for you to explore and become independent through support and guidance. so some of the ways you attempt to describe my mother actually describe me- i value intelligence and learning and encourage my children to develop skills needed to be independent because i cannot and wont always be around. i want them to feel confident when having to navigate on their own if necessary. i am much more warm, loving, affectionate, attentive, and involved with my children. i am also pursuing my intellectual interests (learning languages, psychology, philosophy, and going for my bachelor's in communications). i wanted to also add that my mother is extremely dependent and uses her children as emotional supports. she is far too disorganized and in need of mental health care for her to be independent. she is reliant on everyone around her to accept her dismissiveness and disregard for others.

I feel tortured by the contrast all the time, easily bored (have never stayed in one workplace more than 2 years, have never been in an exclusive loving relationship even though I want it). Around 13:32 (♍️♊️♊️) Don’t quit learning. True, I came to this conclusion when mapping out my life trajectory beyond retirement. This is who I am and what I do. As for now, I accept my current reality as I mold into the higher serotonin through hard work & dedication (it’s more consistent to earn the serotonin). 🌒Gem moons, what did you need from your mom growing up? 🌘 I’m listening to this because my baby girl has a Gemini moon. 💕 I think she’s perfect and can’t wait to learn more and more about her as she gets older. But I’ve been so worried about what I’ve heard about the mom aspect of this placement! I was actually crying in labor worrying if her Gem moon would mean she would feel let down by me in some way. I’m a Cancer sun, moon & venus so… uhh… yeah, I def lean more towards smothering rather than detached. 🙃 My son has a Taurus moon and I’m equally doting to both my babies. Their Dad is also very affectionate and present. There’s got to be some exceptions to the distant mom rule, right? I’m going to do my best to balance her need for freedom with my unconditional love and presence. I can def understand some reasons why this Gem moon soul came to me though. Came here after your cancer rising video. Both my parents were detached. Absent father who I would beg to come visit, my mom was a creative genius who rarely stopped home. I was the golden child because I was the quiet, studious, independent, forgiving, affectionate one while my siblings were more combative. I was child #4/5 kids. Sort of detached, but quietly angry when my space was disturbed/intruded on.

I had that mom. But I was taught to be independent and dependent at the same time. I think because my mom lost her twin girls, she spoiled me and held tight to me keeping at a level of dependence to her which I accepted. She is no longer here on earth. I miss her. I must be an emotional Gemini because I can cry at the drop of a hat about the loss of her and she has been gone since 2013. Menopause doesn’t help either.

I think the way that air signs like Gemini, experience emotions are very different from the way that water signs do and there's nothing wrong with that. Being emotionally detached means we don't absorb other people's feelings easily, it doesn't necessarily mean we are insensitive or don't care.

Leo Sun, Gemini Moon, Gemini Rising..... with my Mercury, Venus, and Mars all in Leo as well which is my 3rd house. So a 3rd House Stellium on top of it. Almost all of this was spot on for me. So so spot on! I lost my dad in 2018 from cancer. Growing up I was close to my father but due to other trauma happening in my household, I felt like I couldn’t be 100% myself as a kid/teenager. I was emotionally hungry. I also resonated with my mom being the parent who was not in touch with my emotional needs. I forgive my mom for the mother she was for me growing up. She did the best she could with the tools she knew. Thank you for posting this video, I have learned so much. Also, i’m a Cap sun with my ascendant in Cancer. I also have my Mercury in Aquarius.

I'm a Gemini Moon in 7th house and I have earth Mercury (in 6th house Taurus) 1. Yes my mom is not very touchy-feely mom. She's rational and helped me loved me took care of me every time I fell down or sick but she never hugged me ever. There's absolutely no drama in our household. My dad is also not very expressive. But their marriage is stable. There's no fights. But I am really weak in expressing my emotions. My elder brother loves and cares about his school best friend's family more than our family. He spend more time energy and money on them. Maybe he has found his alternative family. I used to hug my friends because It felt really good. And when I met my GF I hugged her all the time. 2. Yes I was a good communicator. I used to work as a instructor at a educational institute. Students immediately fell in love with my style of teaching. I became so popular among students that they wanted me to do the rest of the lectures, even though the other lecturerers were way more experienced than me. Even after I quit the place I earn a side income by tutoring kids. 3. And yes I had problems trusting my gf building connection with her. For the first 9 months of our relationship I didn't trust her at all. I always thought that she could leave me at anytime she wants. And then after sometimes I became emotionally vulnerable with her and we stayed in a 6 year long relationship. I was addicted to her, I dumped all my emotions on her everyday. I trusted her with my heart. And when we get physically intimate it is the best thing in the world. We used to do all the fun stuff together. We were Unconventional funny never judged each others for our mistakes. We accepted us every possible way. Recently she broke up with me and I really can't handle this and it made me unstable. That's why I started learning about astrology. I find it really difficult to connect with someone new.

Gemini moon here. Regarding emotional independence. I personally ended up adopted by my grandparents at 5 because my mom was so neglectful and ended up in jail. It was actually my moms mom & stepdad that adopted & raised me. I didn’t have an emotional connection with my mom or grandparents either. So I believe for me this is why.

Gemini moon and mercury at an exact conjunction in the third house here and YES TO ALL OF THIS. I was a latchkey kid. My mom was busy getting her degree and moving her way up the career ladder and I was left on my own a lot of the time, just reading books and learning. EVERYONE is shocked when they find out how old I am... usually people think I'm at least 10 years younger than I am... both because of how I look and also how I dress and my attitude. I always say that I can get lost in the possibilities of life. My sun and rising sign are water signs though, so I definitely know how to connect to my emotions and feel them deeply.
