This is such a strange video. Genuinely difficult to take in your argument with an open mind when you are both self-aggrandizing and defensive, while patting each other on the back for your own presumed enlightenment. I don't give two craps about "wokeness" in Disney cultural products, though I will say that playing the "anyone who disagrees with us is A) a bigot, and/or B) stupid" is precisely what drives people nuts about self-proclaimed "progressives." It's also bizarre that while attempting to disprove a putative "rumour" with so-called "facts," you explicitly smear anyone raising concerns about Headland's association with Weinstein as -- guess what? -- a sexist, homophobic, bigot. Such a claim is not only impossible to substantiate -- your opinion, as it were -- but casually slanders anyone who harbors genuine concern about the fact that Headland worked intimately with a sexual predator, over the time-span when he was actively raping women. Further, Headland has made only but a very few, vague comments about Weinstein's transgressions, which obviously is part of what continues to fuel these speculations that she knows more than she's willing to admit. I appreciate the points you make regarding the various male Hollywood actors/directors who knew and failed to act, that is horrendous in itself, and they all deserve to be called out. That said, it might be worth pointing out that, as you yourselves mention, some of these prominent people have publicly expressed their regret for not having done more, and/or intervening. This is more than Headland has done (in the event that she does, in fact, know more than she is letting on). You haven't really proven anything, or discredited a liar. You have, at most, added some needed complexity to this situation. If you turned down the smug and the derisiveness, your channel might be worth something. Thanks!

@@jedienclave I rather feel like I'm explaining that we don't have to blame Leslye Headland more than anyone else. She is no worse than the others. They have all been hypocrites on this subject. Tarantino, Brad Pitt, the Oscars , the Cannes festival (which are perhaps the ones that benefited the most from his fame), and so on. Being a hypocrite and not speaking up is not illegal. I just doubt their (all of them) sincerity in wanting to change things in the world of cinema. If there is an equivalent problem in the future they will still turn a blind eye. It's not a question of being bad or good "Nothing personal. It's just business". Where did I complain about her work on Star Wars? I don't judge a work on the personality of the artist (or whether I like it or not). There are bastards who created brilliant works, HP Lovecraft was rubbish but his work is brilliant. Woody Allen and Polanski have more than borderline biographies, yet they are very great directors. And there are undoubtedly plenty of very good people who have done very bad works of art.

If Weinstein had a male assistant, I think everyone would be suspicious that he not only knew, but was probably an accomplice. A personal assistant usually is involved with everything their employer is doing in and out of the office., it is a little hard to believe that a personal assistant would see nothing, if this was supposedly going on all the time. And I think if it was a male assistant, that suspicion would follow him forever, and a lot of Hollywood companies would be hesitant to work with him because of that association. I definitely don't think he'd be able to get a huge role at a big movie studio. Leslye is a very ambitious woman, I could definitely believe that she saw anything she would look the other way to make sure she didn't jeopardize her Hollywood career ambitions. If there's no proof or evidence then no one can fully hold it against her, Hollywood obviously didn't. But I don't think it's so crazy to wonder about it and question it. I'm certain if it was a straight male, no one would feel guilty at all about questioning it

It's clear as day that this whole "Leslye Headland was Weinstein's assistant" narrative is done in incredibly bad faith and the people who keep spouting it clearly, as you've said, don't actually care about the victims at all. They just want to tear down a queer woman who happens to be a showrunner for a Star Wars show. Like, the whole thing is so dumb, especially considering that Weinstein, while he is a complete scumbag who deserves to rot in jail, was an actually powerful producer in Hollywood with who literally had hundreds of assistants over the years, so singling Headland out as the sole "culprit" is ridiculous, especially considering she was just a low-level employee working straight out of college. Plus, she's on record herself saying that she suffered workplace abuse herself and she hated her job so much that as soon as she left it she wrote her play Assistance, which was heavily based off of her experience working there and how much it sucked. It's such a ridiculous bad-faith argument being used as a gotcha to try to tear her down, when in reality there's no evidence connecting her to any crimes

Some employees said that they were enlisted in a subterfuge to make the victims feel safe. A female executive with the company described how Weinstein’s assistants and others served as a “honeypot”-they would initially join a meeting along with a woman Weinstein was interested in, but then Weinstein would dismiss them, leaving him alone with the woman." Ronan Farrow - The New Yorker. You can read that and honestly believe that his personal assistant knew nothing?
