FSG aren’t poor. They are just concerned about “me too” response from other players. But that shouldn’t prevent them from rewarding players according to abilities and achievements. It’s NOT fair to pay everyone the same in any work environment unless they are all producing the same output.

Then Salah should have no problem receiving a decent basic wage and then add ons based on his goals and assists.

The fact Luka Modric can still do it at Real Madrid at 39 should be enough to show FSG that English football professionals don't fade in same way as their American sporting professionals do
@craigbeckley271017 сағат бұрын
Modric is a midfielder who doesn't sprint hard all game. The reality is, no matter how fit you keep yourself, as you age you are at greater risk of injuries from high intensity efforts. They probably feel, on a 3 year contract, he is going to have a bad injury along the way and will never return to full fitness again... Salah is a great player and should be given another 2 years, but you can't just hold on to old players forever... no matter how good they still are, age will catch up at some point and you have to be wary of that.

He's trying to get the fans to pressure the club into offering him more money 💰 and the fans are falling for it
@sherwood99172 күн бұрын
@@TerribleEnglish However, FSG does not have a reputation of caring what the fans say. Mo is simply making it clear that if he leaves, it's because he was not offered a contract. He also wants to let other clubs know they can holler in a few weeks.
@TerribleEnglish2 күн бұрын
@sherwood9917 But 'not offered a contract' is nonsense. They don't present endless contracts to players with varying terms, hoping they'll sign one of them. They have talks, then when they seem to have an agreement they draw up a contract for the player and agent to check over and sign. No doubt they've had talks, like this: Mo's agent: "Mo whats X pounds per week" FSG: "Not a chance, be more reasonable"
@sherwood99172 күн бұрын
@@TerribleEnglish Of course, what Mo means is that he was not offered a contract that is acceptable to him. I think we all understood that.

I think not telling the fans anything at any point isnt exactly going down well, and if any were to leave on a free, FSG will have some hard questions to answer, but that is pretty much their modus operandi
@KillerDarcКүн бұрын
As much as I love Liverpool and want to side with the club. We can't forget that same thing happened to so many players under FSG. They weren't given any sort of clarity on their contract situation and eventually got released on a free. Salah would have saw that and thought, "Nah, that ain't happening to me, even if I leave, I'm leaving on my terms, and the fans should know what happened."

So how much has Salah wanted for his new contract and what's the length he's asked for? He needs to make this clear so the fans will know.

Genuine fans support the Club… they do not get played by comments made by a player into all media channels with express purpose of bringing the Club into disrepute, creating pressure, causing our manager to deal with the fall out of the comments in press conferences and harming the team dynamic. Salah will get a contract. But… he and his agent need to shut up and do the deal behind closed doors not in the media.
@PuddlesofLFC13 сағат бұрын
Really? It’s not just salah. It’s our top 3 outfield players. That’s a club issue, not Mo. Salah is arguably the best player in the league, one of the best in the world. He should be paid accordingly. Give him a pay rise, LFC is one of the biggest clubs in the world, they have $. He still puts up crazy numbers. If they want to sell him in a year or two and still get some $ from another big club/saudi - everyone wins. Letting him go for free would be such a fuck up. Worst case scenario we sign him to a deal to make Saudi pay a transfer fee. No brainer

If the Adidas deal is real then it’s in the interest of both LFS/FSG and Adidas as Mo is Already an Adidas man. so may be Adidas and FSG do a deal for extra money as they Know within a year that extra money be repaid through sales in Egypt Alone never mind rest of world. That’s how both Adidas and FSG should look at it (as said if adidas deal is real ). Plus After Mo hangs his boots he Still be Valuable to both LFC and Adidas.

Salah's agent is definitely ochestrating this & they seem to be getting desperate if he's doing of the cuff interviews. The reality is Salah wants to stay & Liverpool want to keep him, BUT both he & the club are going to have to seriously compromise. Seemingly the issue is contract length & for me, he can't expect for more than two years with the option of a third & on the same money tops.

I am done listening to Ian Doyle, Paul Gorst and anyone else from the Echo because all they do is make stuff up and create click bait headlines out of quotes that always end up being nothing to do with the headline at the top of the article. The fact they even call themselves journalists is crazy to me. More like gossip column writers. They don't know anymore than the fans do and are just profiting from the delay in any factual announcements. Don't let them mug you off.
