Some really wise words from Dongin and Farina. My husband and I are complete opposites of each other, but today is actually our 32nd wedding anniversary. Learning how to express love so the other person feels loved is so important! Gary Chapman has actually written several books on this, you might be able to find them at your local library.

I love the idea of the video, I think it can help a lot of people to understand their relationship and to help them realize that the problems can be solved but they just need a little help ; which can be like you said difficult to admit, that they have problems make the relationship works. Your experience can help lots of people so it's really cool to share it, thank you !

This is super relatable to me. Me and my most recent ex were also very different and we had different love languages. (Mine being quality time and his being about giving and receiving gifts). It's important to understand the person you're with and try to make adjustments so you give them what they need while also ensuring you get what you need. **We broke for reasons other than our differences in case anyone was wondering. The point is, people that are different can still be in a relationship and make it work.

This felt like BTS festa this year😀at first I thought that is a breakup video, finding later that’s a real representation of how relationships work♥️ Thank you Dongin and Farina.♥️

It is actually super interesting, I grew up receiving a lot of love through physical touch and affirmations. Now being an adult my love language is also physical and I like to share food for example but it's sometimes really awkward because I have friends that don't like touch but I'm really touchy.

I'm so proud of you in: 1. Seeking counsel as the stigma can be debilitating. And B. The language difference...not just linguistically, but also Love Languages is doubly difficult!! BRAVO for working through it!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 🙋🏼♀️😻🤟🏼♥️

💜💜💜 It’s so nice to see couples admit that it’s not healthy to expect relationships to be perfect all of the time (some can be, just don’t expect it is all I’m saying) I think that’s something I get paranoid about, because I’ve been dumped out of the blue without warning that I get nervous that when things seem to be getting dull, the person will just leave me without talking about it
@moche23032 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate this video. It's really hard to remember sometimes that social media is a selective image of a relationship, and that relationships aren't supposed to be the way we see them online because they're always more complicated. And couples counseling rocks!!
@rachiehahaha2 жыл бұрын
I think the most healthy a relationship is one that communicates. People can be different and “incompatible” and ur right the difference makes the relationship fun. I can’t imagine being with someone EXACTLY like me. no relationship is perfect and like I love my family yet we get in so many fights SO MANY sometimes we are incompatible but our family still works. U guys got this~
@astheyasewgobind83702 жыл бұрын
I think this is such an important part of a relationship that people tend to underestimate. This basically forms the foundation of any relationship. The more you both commit to work on it, the stronger it will get. Thank you for shedding some light on this!

Thank you for making this video I think especially for the younger part of your audience it is super important to remind them that even the healthiest and cutest relationships have moments of conflict and imperfection. It's important to manage expectations and put actual work into getting to know your partner and finding compromises/solutions I also really appreciate you destigmatizing couple's councelling and showing that it's not necessarily just for married couples on the verge of breaking up Amazing video

Wow. So glad that you talk openly about this. Just wanted to say, a relationship is something which doesn’t need two compatible people. Cause it’s something which is special if it works despite the differences. And you are together for over 3 years. That shows that it worked out although you weren’t compatible the whole time. We can learn a lot through relationships and that’s amazing. At the end of the day it only matters with whom you really want to spend your life and not who is compatible. Because otherwise it would be too easy and boring hahah
@katherynne82412 жыл бұрын
couples counseling is the BEST and is such a good idea especially if you want your relationship to be long term or life long. i wish people would be more open to talking about it and seeing it as a healthy thing.
@kpt0022 жыл бұрын
I think usually in a good relationship you have enough similarities and enough differences in some kind of a balance. Too similar or too different people won't work in a long run. But then what is extremely important is to try to understand each other's different point of views. And since no-one is a mind reader to expect things (like certain behavior) of your partner without telling him or her what you need, won't work. So good and honest communication is needed if you want things to work in a long run. I have often seen couples getting in to long lasting conflicts cause they were both assuming things and not talking straight and honestly about their expectations in the relationship.
@6873d2 жыл бұрын
I didn't expect this kind of content but this is actually very helpful. I realized a lot of couple gone through this and both of you able to show us that not compatible doesn't mean you can't work it out. I really hope more people aware of this problem and how to solve them

Thank you for bringing this up and sharing your positive experience with Relationship counselling. I am a Sex, Love & Relationship Coach and I wish more people knew that it’s normal and helpful to see someone with more expertise around relationships and that it can be fun to improve! We’re so conditioned to believe that knowing how to build healthy relationships (or have sex) should come natural to us, but it really only does to a degree. Part of it Skills, knowledge, deconditioning and putting effort into that is f*cking sexy if you ask me. It’s normal there’s stuff to learn and unlearn and sometimes heal. So many people come to us right when their relationship is at the brink of falling apart and expect us to fix it within one session. We’re pretty good, but we’re not saviours. Do yourselves a favour and start early - I promise it’s worth it even if you break up because you take your knowledge and skills into your next relationship :) but it’s more likely it’ll last in the first place

I understand this perfectly. It was also kind of bizarre watching, because it is exactly my husband and me. I am white, pisces, acts of service. My husband is Korean, taurus, words of affirmation. He reacts and makes decisions based on emotion, and I have emotions about things but react and make decisions based on rationality. Our basic values and goals align. Relationships really are a learning process and require compromises (on things that are not a solid must for you). Love is absolutely necessary, but work is required too.
@albietg25442 жыл бұрын
Most divorces happen due to their inability to express their feelings to one another, and in some cases most of them don't accept their own mistakes. Expressing your feelings and accepting your own mistakes can make the relationship healthy. And this is what I show in this video. You are going to live together forever, there is no doubt about it. Both of you are good persons. May god bless you.
@minimonimonismoon75232 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if they know this, but they literally compliment each other. Them being opposite makes both of them stand out in a good way in which there's equality in the relationship. Since they both have different needs and perspectives, those are being catered differently but equally since they're opposites.

i found out about love languages a few years ago and it was mind-opening! i think stuff like this is super important to know in order to have a better chance of having a good and healthy relationship. what is the number one for any relationships is communication though. as long as you communicate open and honest i'm sure you can better connect to each other and actively solve problems, express feelings and needs. i really like that you did this video and once again spoke to us in an open and honest way. personally i believe this might help a lot of people that imagine relationships to be perfect c:

There really isn't such a thing as a perfect relationship. Relationships are like a garden, it takes work and care to keep your garden beautiful and free of weeds.💜 I'm glad you both worked through issues and are together. I do think you have a very good relationship. Opposites do work!

This is really interesting, great video! No shot your couple counsellor was right about your types btw, ISTP-T is rarely more emotionally available than INFJ-A lmao (I’m guessing with the T versus A). That test they made you take is unreliable, it’s not an official test at all (I know which test it is based on the terminology of “virtuoso” and “advocate”). Kinda weird that they told you you were “incompatible” based off of that thing. Though you’re definitely incompatible with the love languages lol. But I believe there is no golden pair; incompatibility doesn’t mean impossibility and compatibility doesn’t mean certainty. I think the highest indicator of success is if both individuals are willing to try to understand each other and work on the relationship, regardless of type.

I just never felt like he unterstood what I needed while he was mostly happy with my way of showing him love. So I guess it's a very important topic. Being a couple is really hard + add entertainment business and pressure from public , it will be double hard. But yes, communication between partners is important and there is no shame or need to be shy to ask for help or just get a different point of view from third person (better from professional of course). This can help with the thing you are stuck with and help seeing things from different side and see solutions. So you both do what you need to do and that works for you. Best wishes Farina and Dongin. ☀️

Not to stereotype but as an asian, Dongin's love language is so relatable. In asian households acts of service is definitely something that we do to show our love. We are mostly too embarrassed to give words of affirmation. That's just something asians don't do mostly.

This was a great video and I think all of this applies to friendships and other human relationships as well. I just lost a long term 'best' friend because we were too different and honestly none of us was willing to put in the effort to fix this friendship. And the fact that I'm not even sad that it's over makes me upset yet realize that maybe it wasn't meant to last a lifetime. 💔
