I feared the worst for Ruesha when I saw LCL had signed Kumagai and Godfrey, who are both great players (at opposite ends of their careers), as is Rue herself, but unfortunately the old sore achilles probably tipped the balance. He didn’t enjoy that aspect. While I totally support equity for women in football, I don’t believe that athletes, male or female, should be earning such a high salary to the point of players acting like they are entitled to all kinds of special treatment, and behaving badly. In my opinion, the salaries for male players are ridiculous. Players, female or male, should be well paid, a better than living wage, but not to the point where they become arrogant and unpleasant to deal with. Anyway, I realise that this is not the current thinking in professional sports.

Chicago Red Stars performance was steaming, She is quoted as saying at the time that she would be leaving Red Stars and the W League to move to Europe. All the media focus was on the huge salary awarded to her by Chelsea.

What she said was that Naomi Girma was THE BEST defender she has EVER SEEN, not ONE of the best. People say ONE of the best all the time so Emma was very deliberate about not using standard language. She went over and above because she wanted to leave no doubt just how good she thinks Naomi Girma is, knowing that it would become a meme of a quote. The episode was still good… Her comments on Freya was excellent (shame it needed to be said) and her comments about Rue from a sister’s perspective was also excellent.. As you mentioned was good to know about the watch along. So I did liked (✅) and have already subscribed 🙂 to the episode/channel. But the previous person wasn’t wrong about it being clickbait… Probably could have been less aggressive on how it was worded but not wrong. Unfortunately, clickbait is a powerful social media tool that lots of people use because it actually works. We can’t blame Shebahn for doing it but doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
