And in view of his recent book -which had to be written for him - he should be damn well ashamed as he has now brought added security risks to his father's Coronation - if Charles is his father, and there's doubt about that. I feel he made the comment to enhance his chance at getting the IPP security status he has demanded the last couple of years. If they get it, they will also get diplomatic immunity, so they can't be sued. That would be handy for people who tell lies; there is also something fishy going on in their financial dealings in the US according to some reports. Imagine having that 'immunity' if investigated? Meagain's sister is suing her for Defamation later this year in the US, can you imagine what would come out in the 'Discovery' phase of the Court case? IPP status may save that happening. I have always believed Charles will pull strings with the Judges to make sure they get that IPP.

As someone who went through AOSB almost 20 years ago and passed, I don't buy this. The system is robust, exacting and looks at many facets. Where you went to school, how well spoken you are etc, do not come into it. Your ability to problem-solve, communicate, think on your feet, plan, your fitness, determination and resilience do. At the time I was a non-grad with a South London accent who went to a state secondary school in the middle of a massive council estate. All my tattoos are spelled correctly though. What I have found is that privately educated people often do well because they have been better taught to communicate clearly from an early age and tend to be physically robust because their schools place a greater value on sports and outdoor education than most state schools do.

The exact same way other military pilots pilot and fire the weapons of their aircraft at the same time. He multitasked, a vital and necessary skill in military combat pilots. Both crew members in the Apache helicopter are fully qualified pilots and both seats have full flying and weapon systems controls. The front seat is the Co-pilot who normally also operates the weapon systems. The rear seat is the Commander (senior pilot). All pilots begin their Apache helicopter careers as the Co-pilot in the front seat. Nobody is allowed anywhere near the cockpit of the advanced and complex Apache until and unless they have qualified as an above average pilot on a normal helicopter. Harry did a 4 month tour in Afghanistan as an Apache Co-pilot in 2012. Later in 2013 having gained enough Co-pilot experience he undertook and passed the further training to become an Apache Commander (senior pilot). Based on his prior KNOWN behaviour and Drug Abuse he would not have got into the army as a squaddie, let alone alone Sandhurst, as if anyone would have failed him. As for his promotions they were automatic time served.

He left because he could NOT pass the exam for Major...
@barryalexander2909

There is not an exam for promotion to Major. There is a series of three Military Education courses (Military Analysis) which are each completed as a week-long block in an Army Education Centre. Performance is graded, and these are not 'pass/fail', but areas for improvement are given. Then there is a series of online learning courses that are really not difficult to pass. Primary criteria for selection to Major is through recommendations made in the annual appraisal report and board selection for the 'Beige' List. Once promoted, officers attend the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (7 months of residential professional Military education). If the system is as loaded in Harry's favour as commenters have suggested it was for AOSB and pass out of RMAS, then why would it not be similarly loaded in his favour for promotion to Major? As usual, a lot of ill-informed comment and assumption/aspersions on here. End of career stage 1 (senior Capt) is a natural and common point at which many officers leave. Unless his appraisal report was leaked, only a few people will know what recommendations he received and only he will really know why he left.

@barryalexander2909 Well..thank you for your detailed comment..Considering (the former Prince) wanted to stay and several reliable sources would suggest to support this. Exam was used to simplify to an audience that is not aware of these Army procedures. However since you have taken the trouble to have explained it is appreciated but within the contecxt the original comment stands..also with this said then this too shows us that these series of education blocks and selections have proved very adequate in separating the "wheat from the chaf"

Many people have already debated on this topic. We all know he, the Traitor, was never in any danger. In fact, he put genuine soldiers in danger. He's a disgrace to King, Country and the people.

It is obvious from many photographs that Harry’s beret is SEVERAL SIZES TOO SMALL, after, apparently, being deliberately SHRUNK from its original size. WHY?? When I served with the AAC this practice would have been frowned on and the beret replaced by a standard, proper-sized version. BTW, it just looks STUPID!!

@@BBob1 - berets are supposed to have a horizontal headband, otherwise they will easily fall off, especially in windy conditions. You obviously don’t know what you are talking about. BTW, during my 22 years in the army I always wore berets but never shrunk them. This is just another fad which is quite common nowadays. I STILL think they look silly!

I do find it odd that he jumped from the Blues and Royals to the Army Air Corps, he must have had a very special Apache helicopter with three seats, one for the horse.
