I love my Essential Sleeve Cabin luggage. Also worth mentioning is that Rimowa will do any needed repairs free of charge. Also, if you want to upgrade or want a new luggage piece you can trade in your existing Rimowa luggage and use it towards the purchase of a new piece of luggage.

We have the Rimowa aluminum XL trunks for travel to Europe and we love them. The first time we took them to France our driver dropped two of them and they both had huge dents. I freaked out needless to say. When we got back you Arizona I called the store in Las Vegas. They sent us boxes to send them back and fixed them to make them look like brand new for free. I think that speaks volumes.

But most places have warranty? What makes you like rimowa other than that? I’m curious
@Jenanne132 ай бұрын
@ I don’t think most companies fix every part for the life of the suitcase though, as far as I know only Rimowa. The thing we like most about the luggage is the way the wheels work. When you travel internationally with 70-80 pounds in each suitcase it rolls right along no problem. We had Tumi before and they didn’t compare. Pretty sure the aluminum suitcases are indestructible too so we will never have to replace them. We like the look of them as well even if they get banged up a bit. The travel stickers are fun.

@@fruitflyhunterno other company except Briggs and Riley has a warranty like this. You can still have your rimowa repaired or replaced in 50 years there is no other company that can say the same except Briggs and Riley but they are completely different styles so it really depends on if you want aluminum/ hard side or cloth suitcase

I have the Original S and while it looks great and the wheels and balance of it is awesome, I honestly still hate it. The weight is a major issue and often accounts for 80% of the cabin allowance. I am a light traveler so it annoys me that I bought into the hype. The durability is good but there are plenty of low cost luggage’s that are just as good so mostly LVMH marketing in play. I do not know how often people switch out their luggage, but from own experience, a low cost options will most likely also last you a decade if you don’t abuse it.. What baffles me is the constant price increases and the logic behind the pricing model for their accessories and smaller bags in comparison. Just to take the small crossbody bag, it actually costs 300 euro more than the L check in luggage trunk! That should tell you everything about just how over priced Rimowa is and it has nothing to do with cost of production yadayada. But that is luxury, I guess. Ps. Still love your videos GPS, so no hate.

All ur points are valid…. They increase the price every year like all the watch brands….😅😅😅… if one love it and can pay why not right..😊🎉

Great as always; thank you for the deep dive. I feel like my Romona just makes travel that much easier. & just give you credit: you also did a great video on Bvlgari, so you did two Italian brands. 😉

Hi, Excellent video on Rimowa since we are also considering of buying one cabin sized. But due to the (very heavy weight) weigh and size (due to varying cabin restrictions from different airlines) and cost, we are still deciding. Your analysis helps shed more light/ info for us. We look forward to watching more of your videos on luxury items. We look forward to you discussing the jewelry brand, Foundrae, and their varying necklace and pendant pieces. Hopefully you will make a trip to NY and film a purchase and interview with the founder.

I own two of the personal clutch (one is polycarbonate and another in aluminum) plus one original cabin with leather accents and a polycarbonate trunk. Really loving the personal clutch. It’s an easy grab and go but the only thing is I’m limited on what I can carry. It’s good for airport especially if we have a few transfers but as a travel bag if I need to carry a lot then I just pass on bringing it. I’ve had a few repairs done and never had to pay a single penny. Our original cabin, it’s for sure looks very nice with the red leather accents. But it’s also scary when I need to check in my carry on. I’m worries of the leather getting scratches but pretty sure if it starts peeling I can take it in and maybe get it repaired. It’s also a suitcase that I don’t feel safe carrying if I’m travelling and needing to take public transit. Just because it does take a lot of attention. I always thought the trunk may be too big but now that I’ve used it, it makes packing easier. A part of me wishes the shorter side had a zipper rather than just the compression because there were times where I tried to close it the Velcro just gave up and stuff started falling. I still stand behind rimowa and will probably continue buying their products. Already looking into the new original bag in aluminum since it would be the perfect size for travel.

I have the original cabin in titanium, I’m really enjoying travelling with it but I agree that any scratch you get shows the silver aluminium underneath - the titanium doesn’t really show scratches as badly as the black. I am however considering the Polycarbonate in either Check In L or the trunk, unsure which is better.

I’m so sorry but I’m so bored every one including me has one. The inside is pretty basic. What I do like is I decorated my daughter’s with stickers of all the places she’s been. That made it more fun.

I am concerned about security. If I were looking to steal a suitcase, and I saw a RIMOWA, that would be my immediate choice. They just scream "I'm expensive"...

Bought an Essential Cabin less than one year ago and have completed approximately 6 trips with it. On my most recent trip can you believe somehow one of the numbers on the inbuilt locks jammed and wouldn't open at my chosen code the first night I arrived at my destination! I tried every possible code until it open...somehow in transit one of the number had moved and reset itself. I truly dont understand how it happened but for such an expensive piece i was very angry and dissapointed

My silver aluminum was beat up and dented, scratched, battered, on the first flight out! It's strong! But that's about it.. The inside has Zero compartments to store small goods. Shoes have to be bagged so it doesn't dirty the clothes. Seriously the money spent was a waste..I switched to something else the 3rd trip. Honestly I ended up disliking it more than my desire to have one. Donated to my sister, She hated it too. she was in Nevada on vacay and went to TJ max to buy a cheap one by Brics.

Great deep dive thanks! I will always be into the Briggs and Riley, especially the carry on size, because it fits so much, is very durable. Plus it expands and has compression technology. Check it out.

Am so disappointed by Rimowa…they reduce every year the quality, the plastic suitcase is more and more thin every year. Now a RImowa suitcase broke after 2-3 years.
@o.m.637427 күн бұрын
I had to chuckle when you mentioned that you thought that a Rimowa was not obnoxious or obvious. In my opinion, seeing it everywhere in airports made them just that and repelled me a little, which is why I was never really attracted to them, and of course being dented and scratched easily with that stainless steel colour and look did not help. (it was clear that the coloured aluminium ones were not immune, good to know the plastic ones are not prone to that). Learning that they have free repairs for life does warrant consideration, and perhaps another look. However never will I purchase a carryon-cabin Rimowa for the simple reason that it lacks any outside compartments or pockets, which for me is so impractical. I at least need my laptop / tablet to be easily accessible for airport check-ins when you have to quickly remove them for the bin inspections. This is why for me a Tumi carry-on is unbeatable for quality, durability, accessibility and movability. Even their checked-in luggage is more practical, especially the expandable versions. While I appreciated your in-depth recview of the exteriors of Rimowa, there was nothing that really lured me away from a Tumi.

Hi G, Thank you for this wonderful analysis of RIMOWA. The brand's addition of a lifetime warranty has made it my top choice when it comes to luggage. I really respect brands that stand behind the quality of their craftsmanship. 🤍
