Plus you can’t shoot sows with cubs under a year old in Canada ( At least in Alberta)

It you hunt bears in spring or fall, sows with cubs are off limits. I've let many bears walk because if I'm not sure then I just don't shoot. And it's the law.

Some of the of the game wardens kill the mothers because they come into towns and poss a threat.
