Congrats on the job! I'm currently a UX/UI student at Springboard and have watched all your videos. Thank you for all the info and it's great seeing that they honored the refund because it is a lot of money and knowing that you got a job (eventhough it took a while) really gives me hope! Congrats again.

@@invisibleux Yes! I am considering taking the UX/UI bootcamp with Springboard. I think I’m going to do the same thing as you and do it full-time so I can finish faster and pay less. I also really wanted a real client project. And I’m so relieved to hear that their customer service is good and that their refund policy isn’t fake!

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! I’ve been doing a lot of research on UX/UI design and then spotted on your channel. I graduated with an art degree and I gotta say it’s so hard to get a decent job! SB offers UX and UX/UI, would you say UX/UI program will help land a job better than UX? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Victoria, I hope you have found my videos useful! I would suggest the combo UX/UI as it will give you more skills and open more doors for you. Even if you decided to go the UI route, which is more design and visual oriented, having an understanding of UX and being able to talk about it in interviews will help get you ahead. Is there anything you'd like to see me talk about in future videos? Cheers! invisible_UX www.linkedin.com/in/david-campana/

Thanks for the informative videos! Currently based in Seattle and trying to decide whether it's worth it to do Springboard or GA. I am curious - did you ever secure a UX job?
@invisibleux
@invisibleux 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, I did! After several months of interviews I accepted a remote position at a large utility company based in the UK. It's been interesting - we are undergoing a technological transformation and integrating new, digital ways of working in a historically stuffy and archaic industry. Have you decided which program to go forward with? Cheers! invisible_UX www.linkedin.com/in/david-campana/

Hi, thanks for the video, it's really helpful, I'm in the stage that the course gonna end but I didn't learn enough to land a job at all, be honest, some of assignments I submitted are super lousy, wanna ask do they check the assignment to qualify the refund? Thanks~

The policy states that the student has to reach out to 7 individuals, and then it also says that meetup and conference also count into outreach. So does springboard really need you to show prof of connecting with 7 INDIVIDUALS , or just prof of attending 7 events?

Thanks for this video. So would you say you just got unlucky with the job search?
@invisibleux
@invisibleux 6 ай бұрын
Hello, sorry it took so long for me to get a reply out! I wouldn't say I was unlucky, I would say my timing wasn't great! I finished the program just before the holidays during a pandemic when hiring was already slow. Things picked up in January. I probably applied to ~ 200 jobs before I got my first offer. It was grueling! But, that's how things are currently as well - fewer jobs and loads of layoffs over the past couple years have increased competition for open roles. For anyone that's looking for a role, I would suggest tailoring your resume to each job, it will help it stand out. Best of luck!

Great video! Question... Were all the jobs you applied for whitin your nearest metropolitan city? A lot of them say "remote" from other states. Just wonder if they would deny the refund because of that. any thoughts about this?

Hi, thank you for the comment and for watching my video, I hope it was helpful! When I signed up for the course, I had to select a geographic region that I would be interested in finding a job in, and my applications had to be within this region in order to count towards the weekly requirements. However, this was in March 2020, before remote work became widespread - Springboard's policies may have changed since then. To help you out, I found their Job Guarantee Overview page, hope this helps! www.springboard.com/how-it-works/tuition-job-guarantee/

My job guarantee ends in 2 weeks and I could not be happier. I want to move on with my life and away from Springboard. I feel like I didn't have a chance to improve my skills or make changes to my portfolio because I was always applying for jobs. Now, I can take a break and improve on things. Also, my career coach was not helpful at all.

Hi, I can completely relate! When I was in the guarantee period, I felt my time wasn't balanced; that I had to focus on creating a new cover letter and updated resume for each and every one of the 7 jobs per week. It doesn't sound like it would take a lot of time until you do it, right? Every minute I spent on updating my portfolio felt like I was cheating and I should be focusing on the job hunt. How have things been going since the job guarantee ended? invisible_UX www.linkedin.com/in/david-campana/

So I met all the requirements for the job guarantee and they are giving me some terms that were not in the contract (I was aware of everything you mentioned) as to why they cannot refund my money. Apparently remote jobs do not count, but that was not listed anywhere in the contract. Hopefully they give my money back, but if not you better bet I will let everyone know about it!

@@sandeepjain-fs4ff I was able to get it back for a weird reason (not the reason I was denied). It seems others are having trouble getting their refunds back too, so I think their refunds are getting harder to get even if you don't get a job in the 6 months time

Wow! If it's not specifically listed in the contract that remote jobs don't count, I would push back hard. I have noticed that, since the end of the pandemic, it seems that a lot of excuses are being used not to follow through with the job guarantee. Best of luck!
