GT was in fact much longer than what was released but they had to shorten it down because of production cost and other type of issues behind the scenes And usually if they Reveal Or give a hint to a possible transformation, it's not for nothing. That means there was a possibility super saiyan . 5 was supposed to appear in dragon ball GT. But just wasn't because there was not enough episodes And a lot of problems behind the scenes..

Super 17 able to absorb dang near any ki base attack the original Moro of dragon ball. And automatically get stronger than their opponent. And don’t even get me started with the shadow dragons their ability is the most ridiculous in my opinion. But imma just due omega shenron, the fact that he could regenerate his entire body from jelly, manipulated natural disasters like wind 🌬️, fire 🔥, ice 🧊 that can turn the tide in battle to his favor. Can debuff his opponent using negative energy which depowers his opponents for extend period of time. I’m pretty sure that he can engulf his opponent in that jelly substance and drain them of their energy. Let’s you get in a beam clash with omega and he just decides to use nova heat blast 💥 on which which can burn through your that beam clash and turn his opponent’s into smoldering ash. Can immobilize his opponents with ice Can used any object he finds on ground and mix it with wind velocity to turn it into a speeding bullet for his opponent. This ability was so broken that he made a ssj4 Gt goku get harmed by glass. In addition syn baking the strongest shadow dragon also means that all the other dragons abilities get upgraded by a ridiculous margin. If any of these villains trained only the god of destruction could stop them mainly beerus.

I sometimes imagine that if SSJ4 and SSJ5 were implemented into the DBS canon, then SSJ5 would be some kinda mix between SSJ4 and Ultra Instinct. It would perfectly explain the silver color scheme of SSJ5.

I prefer ssj5 to be something different from ssj4 , I hate seeing a transformation as just a recolour. It should have some new element prior to ssj4. Ssj god, blue , ui, eu etc can be techniques which can be used on top of transformation. So just recoluring ssj4 to make it ssj5 is not good for me

So something to consider. SSJ4 is technically an offshoot of Super Saiyan. Being that it doesn’t naturally progress from SSJ3. You need SSJ plus great ape to even be able to achieve it naturally. It’s more of a “primal reversion” than a Super Saiyan form. Which would explain why the Saiyans hair goes back to black, as opposed to turning gold/blonde. I’d imagine the direct successor to SSJ3 would retain the blonde characteristics, while maybe adding more hair on the body or changing the physical features to be more ape like.

This is what I've always believed as well. Similar to how Goten and Trunks cant reach SSJ3 on their own, but when they fuse and become Gotenks they gain access to SSJ3. Same thing happened in GT with Goku and Vegeta. Both reached SSJ4 with black hair. After they fused, its still the same form but with RED hair. That to me was SSJ5 even though they never explicitly state it was.

I remember as a kid, not even getting GT yet, but being in utter shock of what I saw, having only glimpsed low quality images of SSJ4. it blew everyones mind especially since there was not a whole lot of fan art this good at the time. I wish they would have explored SSG and God Ki more (it pretty much became irrelevant when they learned SSB), since it’s energy is calm and refined but extremely powerful and it can’t even be detected by beings without God Ki themselves.
