Can you do the same noise test on a flat dirt road to eliminate pavement tire noise from the test? Maybe put the phone on a mount so there's no hand muffling and it will be the exact same spot in both machines?

My buddy has the Wolverine x4 and his is noticeably quieter than mine. With that said during our Sep moose hunt we traveled a total of 287 miles. I pulled him out 4 times and winched out to him once. Mine was a hold my beer and watch this moment so self inflicted for sure. The T4 is a beast.

I think the wind noise from the half windshield probably contributes somewhat to the noise on the older one as well, but I did noico mat a year or two ago in mine and couldn't really see any appreciable reduction in noise either. But yeah heat was definitely improved. My right leg used to always be cooking during the summer. Now it's downright tolerable.
@DerangedOffRoad
@DerangedOffRoad 5 жыл бұрын
That’s why we took the reading on the drivers side because I felt the same way. The mat totally fixed that for me and my kids said it was way better in the back as well. The windshield noise could be it, didn’t think about that. 👍 -Garrett
@CopperCanyonTerrapins
@CopperCanyonTerrapins 5 жыл бұрын
@@DerangedOffRoad I would bet the half vs full windshield had a lot to do with it. I know rolling in my T4 without a windshield, the wind noise seems to be what makes it most difficult to communicate with the rear seat passengers, not the engine noise.
@1ltlbrnc
@1ltlbrnc 5 жыл бұрын
The T4s with no roof or just a cloth roof are quieter than ones with a hard roof that reflects and bounces the noise around. I have been trying to think of a material that is weather proof of, looks good and will absorb the noise to put on the underside of the roof. That would make a huge difference I think.
@Wrenchmonkey1

I stumbled you about a week ago researching a teryx4. Been watching everything I can about the heat issue. Here in Texas where we ride it's about the mud and Sandy trails. I own a ranger crew now, love it and obviously don't have those issues, but it's just too long for the trails I ride on the t4 looks like it will be the next new choice. After learning about the heat from you I spoke with a dealership Saturday about this problem and said later models have a cooling fan to prevent the heat transfer. Does the 17 or and the 19 have one? If they do I will definitely be heat shielding .
@1ltlbrnc
@1ltlbrnc 5 жыл бұрын
Older models, pre 16 or 15 had fans under the driver's seat. Not sure how much of a difference they actually made. Most people seamed to remove them so I don't think they made much of one. No newer ones do unless some dealer is trying something. A good header coating would help a lot with the heat too. A fan behind the stock battery mount to blow through the tunnel for slow speeds would make a difference i would think.
@DerangedOffRoad
@DerangedOffRoad 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah the newer ones don’t, but I’m going to come up with something for under the seats as well. A lot of heat comes out there and sends it through the cab. - Garrett
