The Lord's Supper is in fact a memorial. 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 Let a man examine himself. (Verse 29) If we partake of the Lord's Supper without discerning the Lord's body we do so unworthily. Never mistake being "Worthy" for unworthily.. no one is worthy of the Blood of Christ. The Lord Supper is NOT for the forgiveness of sins, it is solely for the remembrance of the price he paid on the cross for our sins.(Once and for all) When partake of the Lord's Supper....we remember, reflect, proclaim and communicate. (1Cor.11-33) God bless you all. #StillLearningEveryDay

Thanks for the lesson. Please note that Paul didn't mention "being drunk" at the conclusion of his convicting discourse. He simply told them to eat at home and wait for others to eat. We should see that he is contrasting being filled ( drunk ,that is content ) with not being filled.( hungry that is not content ) Paul was not speaking of being drunk ( filled or content ) with alcohol but, being drunk ( filled or content ) with food. The original Greek word translated English as "drunken" is not always alcohol. If it did mean only alcohol Paul failed to add " quit getting drunk" to his solutions for maintaining unity and considering the needs of others. Additionally, there are two bodies mentioned. One is the physical body of Jesus and the other is the spiritual body of Jesus. ( the church )

Systah Ruby the early believers partook in the Lords Supper daily Acts 2:41-46. We break bread daily and enforce the Calvary sacrifice..Communion means fellowship or participation. It is best to call it the Lord’s Supper as god’s word calls it. We get the same benefits as Israel got by eating the passover lamb and applying the passover cup on the door posts and lentils My email is passoverlordssupper@gmail.com as I have a booklet on this very important lesson

My belief & understanding of Communion is Jesus, the living word, written & known of all men, so, the bread is the written word & Jesus & the wine is the Spirit. His breaking with them was a type of our breaking the word of life, His drinking with them, was a type of us drinking of the Spirit of life, ALL in, of, by, with Jesus together every time we study, read, praise, meditate, talk, testify of the word & Jesus is communing with Him together, His body, in a group or one on one.

Jesus says, “This is my Body and my Blood: Do this in remembrance of me,” affirming the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. He could also say to us, “This is my sacrifice … this is the making present of my offering to the Father for love of you: Do this in memory of me. Allow yourself to be united to my offering as you enter into the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Make your own offering in union with mine, so that I may take it for you to the Father.

Dr A, Great job taking this on. After penetrating the church engineering we realize that at the last supper, Jesus does not ask the disciples to confess their sin, individually or collectively, prior to the receipt of the body and blood of Christ. Yes they had been with him 3 years, but they were not perfect at this stage spiritually either. About 85AD John writes his gospel . In John 6 when you read the language, it is prophetic of what will come, the crucifixion, you will notice that the language is not collective it is between the Father, Jesus the bread of eternal life, and each of us. This is the primary teaching. John 6 will not be acknowledged by the church. It is contrary to Paul and therefore , as per Galatians, accursed. Jesus is speaking the Father's words John 14: 10, and the holy Spirit is bringing these to remembrance after 50 years. The initial teaching is personal to each of us. Bread is eaten daily. God' s choice of language.Verses 31 and 32 " your Father gives you the true bread". The intimate relationship between the cross and the lord's supper, never examined. Good work Dr A , drilling away at the traditions of men.

In other words, we ought to know that church is a gathering of people where the Lord is present and the body cannot be separated from the Lord just as Paul said “is Christ divided?”(1Cor.2:13)

Paul explains that examine yourself because some are sickly and some sleep/die. The body and the cup represents what jesus did for us on the cross. Understanding what the body represents and the blood represents. In his body all sickness and disease are taken and blood represents your sins are forgiven. The proper way to partake of this communion is to celebrate freedom from sin and sickness and disease. This unity of purpose of the body and blood is important for what that represents. If this is not the examination of yourself based on what this represents, thats why some are sickly and some do sleep/ die because they partake of this thing unworthily.

Paul said let no judge you meat and in drink or the keeping of a day. He said you are not the better or worse for if you do it or not. For kingdom of God is not in what you eat and drink. This was during the time of Passover feast. It was probably a custom to eat bread and wine. So Jesus said this represent , my blood of the new covenant and my body that was broken for you. He told them: I want to do this to remember me by till I come back, from the dead. They didn't believe he was coming back. None of believed he arose from the dead. What did he do in Luke 24? He reprimanded for it. They were slow of heart to believe.

This is about communion! Discern the body! Appreciate! For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself. 30 That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. What is discerning the body? On the tenth day of the first month the Passover and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, when the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill their lambs in the evening. “This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord, throughout your generations you shall observe it as an ordinance for ever. Passover is not a sin sacrifice it's a remembrance. So alongside the Passover Lamb, Jesus/Yeshua, on the fourteenth day was offered up, and upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, by his stripes we are healed! Isaiah 53 Communion = healing! We need to discern worthily! Remembering..The difficulty in surrendering a young Lamb (pet) and knowing WHY it was required to eat ALL of the Lamb, everything! this was for OUR bodies to receive healing! all the soft tissue, the face, eyes, brain, everything was sacrificed for our salvation AND our healing! Discerning, Worthily IS THIS. We need to understand the Jewish component and welcome it! The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; 54 he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.” 59 This he said in the synagogue, as he taught at Caper′na-um. Communion is for healing, Discern/understand the body of the LAMB! This is amazing to me!

You’re right. There is nothing symbolic or ritualistic about the Lords Supper. For Christ Jesus is the substance Colossians 1:17. The Lords Supper is the fulfillment of the Passover Supper and we get the same benefits and blessings as Israel got when they ate the lamb and applied the blood.but we’re under better promises and benefits because we’re under a better covenant than Israel Hebrews 8:6 . The Lord Jesus prepares His table for us with Passover bread and wine Luke 22:9. -15. The Lord Jesus blesses the Passover bread and cup and declares this is His body and blood. There is no one changing anything but it’s the obedience of coming to the Lords table and eating and drinking from His table. We’re participating in Jesus body and blood or it’s put to our account that we’re participating in the Calvary sacrifice 1 Corinthians 10:16-18. Andrew you say that God does not punish believers for sin well you should Check out Acts 5:1-11 But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, 2 and with his wife's knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? 4 While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God." 5 When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and breathed his last. And great fear came upon all who heard of it. 6 The young men rose and wrapped him up and carried him out and buried him. 7 After an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 And Peter said to her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much." And she said, "Yes, for so much." 9 But Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." 10 Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. 11 And great fear came upon the whole church and upon all who heard of these things. (Acts 5:1-11, ESV) The sad story of Ananias and Sapphira is not some obscure incident from the Old Testament regarding a violation of Mosaic Law. This occurred in the first-century church to believers in Jesus Christ. The story of Ananias and Sapphira is a reminder to us today that God sees the heart (1 Samuel 16:7), that He hates sin, and that He is concerned for the purity of His church (1 Corinthians 11; 1 John 5). As Jesus told the compromising church in Thyatira, “All the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds” (Revelation 2:23).

When Charles was opening Parliament in the spring of 2022 he was not wearing the crown because he was not the King then. Wearing the crown would not have made him King. Taking communion does not make you a Christian. When you take communion you are saying "Jesus did this for me". An unbeliever taking communion would be resembling who they are not.

What you are getting wrong is reducing two actions eating and drinking to a completely different action of remembering. What a twisted understanding of simple language. Eating and drinking are done with the body and remembering is done with the mind. In no universe can they be reduced to the same thing.

20:!8 "That is not the truth that is in error!" Hmm. The "Dr" here is stating a his own view of Holy Communion. Read Holy Scripture an realize that a sacrament in the Christian Church is an act that Jesus Christ did Himself while He/God was on earth. A sacrament is an act that God/Jesus Christ commanded us to do. It is backed up in Holy Scripture and it states He/God/Jesus will be with you as you partake of this Holy Rite - and that there will be a "tangible elemental - supernatural occurrence" that happens during this time! There is a "real presence: of God in Holy Communion - not just a "remembrance." A special GRACE is given to you as a gift of God every time you partake in Communion. I have never heard of you Mr. Farley but would love to have a one on one conversation with you.
