In this month's "Monthly Mutterings" I review the Royal Enfield 500 Works Trials Replica after a winter of riding it. This also contains a virtual ride in some lanes North of Dolgellau in Wales. Enjoy, Like, Subscribe etc.!!!

I always like it when a reviewer says ,"I can feel a little buzz in the pegs or grips". It's a motorcycle !!!! If you want a bike that don't vibrate get a Goldwing or better yet take your car,. I started riding in the 60s and I like to feel like I'm riding a motorcycle , feel the road under me. I ride a Himalayan and I can feel a very little buzz , feels great!

good points there. mine thrums along nicely. it's alive

The Japanese bikes are better at mitigating the vibration,but then motorcycle s are irrational .

Agree, humming of that big single piston makes it feel alive and connects rider with the bike. Too much can cause discomfort but just a little bit is sign of life, like that.

Hello Craig, I’ve had my 2017 RE Classic 500 for one year now and I’ve put over 6K miles of smiles. No matter where I go specially the Harley Davidson dealership, people and other riders walk on up and strike up the conversation on how unique the RE is. Really enjoyed your video great scenery and proper discussion.

Thanks for your kind words. You have been doing some great miles by the sound of it. I agree wholeheartedly. There’s something special about them. I’m very interested to read that HD community are so positive. Different end of the bike spectrum yet similar in that they are pure bikes perhaps?

@DE BOAZ por aí. the funniest time was when I was with my mate Dave. He had his Yamaha WR ( a real weapon) and everyone ignored it but asked about the Bullet!😂 Greetings to Brazil 😀

I had a Bullet 500 about 6 years ago and swapped for a Kawasaki VN900 and after a short while I missed the character of the Bullet. Last year while taking my Meteor 350 in for a service in the showroom stood a Classic 500 with only 700 mls on the clock and almost new. I am now the proud owner of the Classic 500 and the Meteor 350 and love riding both but not at the same time of course. I don't think I could part with either. Not even for a Super Meteor. Ride safe but most of all enjoy the experience.

Here’s another subscriber 🤡🇬🇧 3 years into my Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus (Also not at all bad for off-road): my 22nd two wheeled motorised vehicle and very possibly, in so many ways my best so far. My other bike is a 1983 Harley Ironhead, Which I also love to bits, but the Enfield always works!

All the nice things I wanted to hear about the Enfield! There are too many reviews out there from people who usually ride multi-cylinder touring bikes and complain that the Enfield vibrates so badly, has so little power etc. etc. but not a word about what they usually ride or what they are looking for in a motorbike! Well done.

Thank you. That’s very kind. I’m off on a 250 mile trip on the Bullet tomorrow. It’s a mixture of 60mph limit roads and a long trail . It will handle it all rather well. Since filming this video the bike is even better.

I have to agree with some of the other comments, it would have been nice to actually see the bike (and I will look at your other video) however, having said that, I lived in Dolgellau for 12 years and I miss it so it's very nice to see the roads, hills and views between there and Llanfachreth... also, I have just bought a Bullet 500 which is why I came here in the first place!

This sounds very much like it used to be in the old days. Tweeds, flat cap and a pipe, if the 1930's BSA adverts are any guide. Much simpler times, though gravel still hurts if you tip yourself off. That hasn't changed....

In Australia, some riders install a 19 tooth front sprõcket , to jack up the highway characteristics.
@craigyllyn2 жыл бұрын
I heard that. It does get very busy on fast roads. I’ve been worried about losing the creamy torque at the bottom end but maybe I’ll try it some time 👍

@craigyllyn3 жыл бұрын
oh yes! it's got a very "soft" delivery and isn't fazed by that. I also ride a 2011 BMW RT1200. Going up my local hill it won't pull 50 in top(6th). The Bullet has no such issues in top (5th).

Can you please send me the link to the channel that you recommended.. that top chap? And post the same in your description box for others. Lovely scenery. Why does this bike not have a 6th gear. The Torque is there. It wants to go highway speed but its limited by it's gearbox
@craigyllyn2 жыл бұрын
It happily revs out in 5th so I agree that it would have benefited from a 6th gear. I’m guessing that they didn’t spend the money developing it as they were working on a long term move away to the new model range.
