I bought a house in the foothills in 1990. I remember getting 8' of snow in 3 days. I remember cycling in shorts in February. I remember snow that came in October and left in April. I remember no snow in Denver and great skiing in the mountains, all winter long. Driving in snow is one issue, but I've seen plenty of cars on fire on the side of I70 heading west into the mountains.

The weather tends to get over-exaggerated here both good and bad. Very frustrating at times. Every winter is different. Sometimes it snows in early fall, sometimes late in the spring. The sun warms things up, but it gets very cold at night. You get huge drops in temps in a few hours.

That’s a fair statement, and the last couple years have seen far more smoke and smog than ever before. At the end of the day, I think we are pretty tame on either side of the spectrum. Appreciate you watching!!

I think Oregon is beautiful, but I could not handle that much rain. I will say though, it has rained A LOT in Denver this year.

Try origin Red Rocks up hwy 40 ....right next to foothills with a bus to Red Rocks Concerts and right at Golden Hiking trails...fantastic views and reasonable priced down the hill is Apex Park for Hiking and round the corner is Wrigley s Field a great Sports Bar with great food reasonably priced in summer on weekends they have bands!!!

I'm thinking about staying in a Denver hotel and taking tour excursions to Breckenridge, Rocky Mountain National Park, Pikes Peak, etc. during the Christmas season. Will there be a good chance of me seeing snow that way? I love seeing snow during the holidays.

In summer Colorado Dept of transportation has Bustang to Rocky Mtn National Park from Union Station on spacious bus with WIFI and phone charging for $5 each way from spring to fall

I wanted to know about snow because I am a native Floridian. I lived in Reno, Nevada for awhile and wonder if Denver was kind of similar. Not much of a fan of snow but, can endure it.

Snow throws people off for a little while if they aren't used to it, but they seem to adapt well. If you ever head to Lake Tahoe from Reno, I can tell you we don't get snow like that! Thanks for watching!

Planning to visit Co within 6 months to scope it out for a possible move. The weather has been my biggest concern so this makes me feel better. Would you say this video holds true for Colorado Springs as well or is it bit less snowy down there?

I'm from south texas so I'm used to 9 months of humidity summer. Had only seen snow a couple times in my life. Weather in the 30s is frigid cold to us. Since living in denver i just experienced denver winter for the first time. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. There are sporadic days where it gets frigid cold but what I have come to learn is that sooner or later the sun will shine and when it does it doesn't feel that cold. I'm guessing it's the altitude but it can be 35 degrees and if it's clear and sunny ill be in a t-shirt. If it's 35 in texas I'm in a big jacket. I've been in pacific nw winter as well and it rains from the beginning of October all the way to June. Dark, gloomy and rainy. Denver isn't like that. The sun is abundant all year round

I can relate to this. I live in Georgia and I was surprised when I visited Montana. When the high was in the 20s in Montana, it felt warmer than 30 degrees with the humidity in Atlanta. I didn't feel too cold until it reached the single digits in Montana.

@LoganCharlesII yea when im in texas if it dips into the 40s i get cold but in Colorado I'm fine until it gets into the teens. I guess the humidity makes all the difference

I bought a ticket for me and my wife for January 28th for her birthday as I'm from Florida I'm worried about driving. I want to go from Denver to Breckenridge but I don't know if I can drive a 2WD car at this time of the year

Don't worry you can take the Bustang Bus and they are spacious from Union Station with wifi and phone charging

A drive up to Breckenridge in a two-wheel drive might be a bit risky. Have you driven in snow / ice weather before? Maybe you could rent a car just for that purpose, and have it for the couple days you are headed to Breck?

I am an OLD colorado family....1860s on my dad's side....early 1900s on my mom's side but raised in Nebraska....you have NO clue what COLD is....that wind would rip thru nebraska....50 degrees below feezing...u r an amaeur
