Hi friends, This is a slightly different type of video the text for which I wrote in a spur of a moment after many comments about how unrealistic the life I show looks. I wanted to address it. The fact is, all of us experience our own hardships, all in our own way. Someone showing a beautiful life on a surface doesn’t mean they don’t experience moments of darkness. But it’s the light that I personally want to share. The beauty I seek and find all around. Not an ultimatum, saying that this is the only life anyone should lead. But a source of escapism, the escapism that exists in every mundane detail of our lives. I don’t go to magical places. I don’t live in the most beautiful area. I seek and search beauty everywhere I can because it makes me feel better amongst my depressive thoughts. And do it for those, who might be in the same place as I. I want to start sharing more realistic aspects of life. Share even more of the mundane, less staged. I’m not sure if you’d be interested in that. If you have anything that you’d like to see and know - please comment below!

I found your channel just last week. I like your aesthetic taste and the production quality is good. I like that it is dreamy and full of poetry, I don't want to see too much mundane stuff, but a little would be interesting. What do you do for work? I live off grid in a remote high desert environment (over 2 years now). very slow, soft, and quiet living. not without difficulties! I can identify some shared values between us.

😊 Dear Daria, we wouldn't be here if we didn't love the thoughts you so beautifully put into images, music and words! Personally, I can tell you that your videos are being essential to find my own moments of softness. Actually, they're part of them! 😉 And of course, the mundane is also charming and interesting, and will be welcome if you feel so inclined! (Now I'm intrigued 😉) Thank you again! 🙏🤗

I remember speaking to my Father when he was dying. I thanked him for being a wonderful father and giving me the best childhood. He squeezed my hand and told me to live my life like each day could be my last. I have tried to do this, it’s made me appreciate what I have, to look at the world around me and to see what is really important. I find I am most happy and living in softness when I'm creating something. It can be as simple as sitting on my couch, crocheting with my cat next to me, or sewing a new dress in my sewing room. Writing in my journal or just sitting in the back yard reading a cozy book. We are the only ones responsible for our happiness, that is so very true. I find it so profound that there are so many people in this world, but the only one we are truly aware of is ourselves.

Hello Daria ☺. I don't often comment but just wanted to say that you should indeed keep sharing 'the light'. I have just turned 71 and I have been through so much these passed 2/3 years, which included the pandemic! You're right of course, we all have our struggles, dark moments! SO! Lets just share the lighter moments here, art, poetry, literature, nature, all the things that help us to mend. I don't do any other social media (because a lot that is what I find unrealistic and depressing). However, I do watch the odd 'lighter' vlogs like yours, so thank you. With bright Autumnal blessings 🍂🍁🍂🍁 love & peace xx

This is such a great video and a powerful message to all. I think we all want and crave a slow and soft living, I know I do. Unfortunately we also have to deal with reality, bills, buying food, cleaning, yard work, laundry, etc but I remind myself that if I can find some peace and tranquility each day, try to increase when I can then it’s better than none. I think we all need a soft space to land each day, peace in our hearts and time to reflect. One of your best videos yet and I love them all. You remind us that we are just human❤
@WritingArcadia Жыл бұрын
I hope that you will continue to make lyrically poetic videos, like Inspiration For Autumn, that give fortifying solace, peace, and beauty to those who watch them. And yet, it is also of value to explore the mundane, and how it informs the need for something better. The interplay between light and shadow is conceptually fascinating.

Everyone has hardships. It’s how we focus sleep make the right decisions be wise eat the right food go down the right paths. That will lead us to our victory or failure the power is within us all and if we have the intelligence to make the right choices that will define our outcome how and when our time ends.we also can’t control everything but it is wise to have some kind of plan but sometimes life throws the unexpected at us from all different areas it’s how we move around the obstacles.

Spot on, my dear! To me, soft living is making the decision to give up the neverending hustle and climb for a lifestyle that the media/society tells us we must have in order to be happy. Life becomes less about grasping and clawing for evermore materialistic achievements and more about being content with where you are at now. Appreciating the true beauty that lies in nature, our homes and most importantly -ourselves.
@1Thedairy Жыл бұрын
It’s good to be reminded to take time off for ourselves. We all go through tough challenging times where problems seem to be endless. Fortunately for me I’ve always been very curious so when I take a walk in nature I’m so absorbed with my surroundings that I lose myself and find inspiration to paint or create. If I’m not doing that I’m gardening or if the weather doesn’t permit I’ll bake or read. Having a project, however small, is therapy and allows you to refocus. It’s not so easy if you have a young family and requires great effort and discipline but as you say so eloquently it’s so important.

It kind of baffles me when people hear a fact about a person and just assume that their whole personality is wrapped around this one particular thing. Most of the time it's connected to profession and it's a ridiculous notion to think that nothing else, different or even contradicting might be of interest to that person. Just because you're a doctor or a teacher doesn't mean that you live a saint like pure life devoid of any vice. Just because you're a personal trainer that doesn't mean you live inside of the gym and don't have other interests. Just because you're an artist it doesn't mean that you have no struggles or any concern about the material world. One particular label (profession) does not describe your whole existence, there's more to each and every one of us. Beautiful video and thank you for sharing this. Love what you did with the visuals, music and your voice, somehow it sounds extra nice in this video :) well done!
@IamDaria Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I agree a lot with this. The question about profession is almost centred in our lives - understandably so, as work is so vital to our existence. But so is everything else. A lot of people base their opinions about what you “do” or how you present yourself without much exploration or peeling off the layers

A lot of work and responsibility often disrupt our inner balance, which ultimately can affect not only our mental health, but also our physical health. There is a very fine line between the desire to achieve inner harmony and the desire not to lose the achieved state of harmony in the process of earning a living, paying bills. Thank you for bringing me confidence every week that I chose this path for a reason and I am not alone.

Thank you for your deep honest and beautiful video❤️. Yes, Life is the balance between dark and light moments and I always have to fight for my soft, light moments but if I have them after a dark periode, I can see and feel them soo much brighter and lighter and appreciate them so much. It's a deep gratefulness in me, that comes from knowing very hard times and feelings. I love to read under a tree, walk with my dog in the morning or evening sun, breathing slowly and watching every tree, every flower I can. I also enjoy watching a Netflix serie or a good movie under my blanket. It's always the balance like you say❤️

We live many lives, and one of them is what we show to the public, the world, the face we put on for the general masses of humanity, this is often far removed from the life we show to our closest friends which is different still to the life our family sees every day. Social media has made it easier to show the life we want the world to know us by, but people have always 'put on a show' for others, from the beginning of time, and there has always been 'Keeping up with the Joneses' or the grass being greener on the neighbor's lawn. I hope we can learn to seek joy in the things we love , seek out the people whose 'public life' aligns with our aesthetic and values, and still know that we are not alone in our pain, our tragedies, our heartbreaks, and our daily struggles, but that by sharing the beauty and happiness we find with each other, we can all become a little lighter for it. Thank you for sharing, as always, your beautiful world with us.

I wish I could write this comment as beautiful, articulate and meaningful as the person who made this video. But unfortunately I’ll never have the words that would describe how it made me feel. So much of these thoughts are my own, and now I understand why a slow life or slow living just didn’t seem like I could have it. Each time I tried it was harder than just living hustle culture. This insight has inspired me to try again, this time looking at the in between moments. 😊

Hi Daria, I hope you are well. I'm so glad you talked about this topic today. Its very interesting how people see other peoples lives. I'm in two minds regarding KZbin influencers. Being an "Influencer" can be a dangerous situation to be in. I find most influencers portray a very misleading way of life. They only ever show the perfect life which is so unattainable for most of us. It can be very triggering for some. I have deleted so many KZbin subscriptions for this reason. On the other side of the coin i do still watch certain influencers for a total escapism from the "real word". Sometimes we just need to take ourselves to a different place and live our lives vicariously through others. I come to your channel for the aesthetics and the sheer peace i feel after watching one of your videos. As in life everything is about moderation and what is realistic in order to live a content life without the smoke and mirrors. I could talk about this for ages but i'll leave it there and just say that i thoroughly enjoy your channel for the right reasons for me. Have a great rest of the week.

Living a slow, simple life doesn't mean that there will never be boring bits. The chores still need doing, the bills still need paying, but what does change is your mindset. Emptying the dishwasher or doing laundry isn't the highlight of my day, but being intentional with the task, noticing, and being present helps to lift the mundane into something more. Actively seeking the magical, the extraordinary in the ordinary world around us is what elevates life. It takes effort every day, but it is so worth it. Seeing someone else working through it too helps so much. Your calm wisdom serves to reinforce my choice to live this slow, simple life, and I find contentment and enjoyment watching your beautifully crafted videos. You are not alone in these choices. Many of us are also on the same journey, my friend.

This video is fantastic, and it's genuine. Having lived a rural life alone for more decades than i will admit, there are some tough challenges, very tough challenges, and they are anything but pretty. You often find the slow and soft times but just as often you have to carve them out by turning your back on the long list of things that need to be done to maintain that life. ❤

😊 To me, life is what happens while we wonder how to live. Unfurls itself around us, full of many forms of beauty we are often too busy to appreciate. The soft life means to be able to stop and pay attention to those precious moments, as you said, the moments in between. But life is, indeed, very much about balance, because even the most beautiful things cannot be seen or appreciated without contrast. Like the beautiful golden oak tree leaf over green branches, and the delicate pale yellow water lilies floating on dark water. They wouldn't stand out to catch our eye if everything around them was the same colour! 😉 By the way, I loved how you took us visually from the Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge of Monet's garden in Giverny (on that print in your home), to an actual pond full of real water lilies.😍 And I'll write down that wonderful quote from Mary Oliver, right now! 👍 Very beautiful and meaningful video, Daria! Thank you so much!! 🙏👏👏👏😘

It's nice to see there is the other side of work and chores also. I find balance by prioritizing daily walks outside (weather permitting) and doing art (when I find time). Hello Daria, I also have that melancholy overthinking mindset and I try to recognize how important (perhaps ultimately important) those little moments of calm and simple things can be. I often wish life was a KZbin video but of course it is not. It's difficult for me to distill down how I feel about life during this difficult season and put it into words. I do believe it is healthy as you say to realize that no one is living a perfect life and there are certainly struggles. I hope to see you again soon. Martin.

Thank you for sharing, Martin! Everyone struggles in their own way, and everyone experiences their own beauty too. Perhaps recently people started comparing their hardships too much, especially when we are exposed to so many people and so many lives all of a sudden on the internet. Hardships are nothing to be compared - as whatever they are (how little or how big they may seem to others), you feel them through the prism of your own life experiences.

Love the honesty and transparency and how you still portray it in a poetic and cinematic fashion. What struck me was one of your first questions about slow life vs. hustle/ fast life, if one can exist without the other. I live a sort of medium-paced life, trying to find balance, but mostly appreciate the moments when I can slow down and feel life. At other times the rush and exhilaration of activity can make me feel alive. I also wonder if it would be possible to enjoy those slow moments if not for others living the "hustle" life and how it makes possible all the technology/food/products/travel that I am able to use with convenience. I try to let it teach me not to judge others and appreciate that everyone finds the pace that's right for them, and how it can help others who live a different way. You express your questions and thoughts beautifully. New subscriber for the reflection as well as the cinematography!
