Buy "Punk's War," Ward's bestselling debut novel about life in a deployed F-14 squadron, at a deep discount from the original publisher at www.usni.org/p...
Recently declassified forward looking infrared from U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets show what the Pentagon is calling "unidentified aerial phenomenon." These FLIR contacts lack wings, any sign of propulsion, and indications are that they can travel upwards of 13,000 miles per hour.
The aircrew (pilots and weapons systems officers) involved were all slow-rolled the first time they debriefed their footage to intelligence officials at their local military commands, but when a former undersecretary of defense leaked the FLIR footage to the New York Times, the Pentagon had to admit that the images were real and the Department of Defense had no reason to believe that UAPs didn't exist.
The only question was what they actually were.
Reasonable analysis basically puts the options into three categories: a domestic developmental program, a near-peer spy program, or aliens. In this episode, Ward builds the case for which of those three he believes is most likely.

Ward, I gotta tell ya, I spent 21 years in the Navy, many nights on the flight deck and I have seen things that are unexplainable. Once, in the I.O., in 1985 I saw balls of light move down the stbd side of the USS Kitty Hawk that resembled white lighted balloons, then all of a sudden move away so rapidly that they went from around 50 knots to mach 3+ in 3 seconds. I reported this to Flight Deck Control and was told to get back to work. Others saw them too, we just went back to work and realized that no one would believe us. I am convinced what we saw is "not of this world"

I see flaws in Wards logic. 600-700g? So that’s a bit more of a leap than fly by wire and stealth tech. It’s just too far outside the box. The fact that you assume because mars does. Not harbor life that it is unlikely that these are from other worlds is narrow minded indeed. There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on all the beaches in the world. Each star averages 6 planets. Your brain can’t handle those numbers. It’s not ours. Very unlikely. You think DARPA has figured out gravity disruption? Maybe but only if they reverse engineered it. Not organically.

Great video, earned a new subscriber! One point I would like to make though is that you mention that these things were seen in military no-fly zones, then ask why they aren't being seen elsewhere. I immediately thought to myself - well that's where the planes are. Lol. And in the case of the west coast tic-tac, it wasn't even the plane that made initial contact - it was the ship. No ship, no sighting by the F-18s (ship was tracking for days and no planes had spotted it). If there are no planes in an area, or just planes without advanced radar, of course they won't been seen. You have to consider that if something can be piloted while pulling 600 to 700 Gs and go 13,000 MPH in our atmosphere is way, WAY beyond what we know. To dismiss the idea because 'Mars has no evidence of a civilization capable of interplanetary travel' is a puzzling comment in an otherwise excellent commentary. Just my 2 cents.

You spoke my mind. The mars isn't the whole universe. If something can travel at 13k in our atmosphere, flying through galaxies to visit the earth isn't supposed to be an issue for it. Besides, we don't have radars like the us navy at homes, so who else can tack them? Maybe the ufos fly over our heads every hour but we simply can't see them at those speeds.

These aircraft have been seen by both sides fighting in World War II. They were known as Foo Fighters. They often flanked bombers on runs on both sides of the war. But they never attacked nor interfered. The Axis powers thought it was a top secret device made by the Russians. The allied side believed them to be intelligence gathering aircraft from Nazi Germany. Today, it is likely they are top secret technolgy from nations that have not revealed they have it. However, what were the Foo Fighters in World War II? Maybe today what is being seen may be a combination of what was known as Foo Fighters and top secret technology from nations that have not revealed they have that technolgy.

They are alien to our time zone and physical world. And the idea they are ours, or anyone from our normal reality is insane. No materials we have can come close to withstanding the speeds and G forces of these vehicles. No power plants put out the energy, and that small, they would need, to make them move like they do, and do it for days at a time. No where in his or anyone elses lifetimes have such giant leaps taken place. Not even close. They are all over the globe and have been for thousands of years, and not just for some show and tell in our military zones. Only now, with mass communications, advanced radars and optics and recording devices do we see them more often, and we can record and transmit such encounters. But there are still people who want to claim it is normal (swamp gas, Venus, weather balloons, birds) or we have it in a secret shed somewhere. Deniers are deniers.

@@VikingTeddy The problem with the camera angle arguments is, that these are seen in real time by extremely advanced radars and by the pilots experienced eyeballs. The speeds they are seeing are out of this world quiet literally. For example he mentions Fravor's encounter and the fact the UFO was 60 miles away at what he called several times the speed of sound. Oh that sounds normal, when in fact Fravor and his wingman said it was out of sight in less than 2 seconds, and it showed up almost instantly afterwards according to radar 60 miles away. Which was their original rondevu location for their fighters 60 miles away. And there many of them at the same time (a fleet of them), that was seen for days on their radars. Some reports on WWII bombers claimed their radars clocked some "foo fighters" at 10,000 mph, that their crews saw visually as well. But not for long at those speeds.

I have 12 years in military radar, 10 as a military pilot, and 30 as a commercial pilot. I never saw anything even remotely like a UFO. However, I totally agree with Ward’s analysis. I flew around Area 51, operated a radar that could look deep into it, and once even walked for a couple days outdoors (& overnight) in an adjacent military operating area. Never saw anything! But it’s always been my impression that the military promoted the entire alien notion so that IF somebody did see something they are developing there, they could write it off as “little green men”. The LGM thing allows sightings to be explained as either: 1) there are no LGMs, so the observer is a nutjob. Or 2) If there are LGMs, that’s not our stuff you saw, it’s the alien’s 👽! And if Chinese naval pilots start seeing “aliens” during their exercises, that’s still not us. Pretty convenient, don’t you think?

In any investigation, it is essential to survey not only what evidence is present but what evidence is missing, yet undiscovered, or removed. It is very interesting these vehicles appeared in two particular Naval training areas and not anywhere else. That is very telling. When the F-117 was undergoing testing during the late 70s and 80s, it was deliberately flown into and out of controlled air spaces to determine detection, interpretation and response. In other words, the psychology of the observations. I believe that similar tests are going on here. I agree that, based upon the conduct of the Pentagon, these objects are not foreign technology and certainly not extraterrestrial. Thus, it must be some sort of test program for, I admit, a wholly new technology that has me baffled. Still, 40 years ago, stealth technology was also baffling. Thus, my argument us based upon psychology and historical precedent. The opinion of a physicist regarding the propulsion technology would likely prove very valuable to understanding these phenomenon.

Very interesting video and I love your insight into this. However I see one big problem with your theory on it being a test aircraft. If indeed these are test aircraft and they were getting these F-18 pilots to unwittingly be in a test, would they have been willing to risk the life of its F-18 pilots ( who just may have engaged the said test aircraft) and a million dollar aircraft? Not only that but also the life of the pilot in a supposed test aircraft and what would likely be in an even more expensive aircraft? I have to admit I don't know much about how the Air Force and navy operates in their testing. I was just an old army grunt but when we were testing things out in training in the Army, we never used soldiers as live bait with live ammo. Seems to me that that would be an unnecessary risk and perhaps a very costly one.

I know we don't like to think of ourselves as expendable, but that's exactly what we are in the eyes of our government and military. I've also heard stories of citizens being exposed to chemicals. We're just fancier lab rats.

This situation reminds me of the scene in the 1980 movie, “The Final Countdown.” One of my favorite movies. I saw it in the theater when I was 13 yo. Anyway, it’s a time travel movie with Kirk Douglas wherein the USS Nimitz lands in December 7, 1941 and they must decide whether to defend Pearl Harbor, or to not interfere with history. Anyway, one scene is when the F-14s fly circles around the Japanese Zeros. FYI- My Mother’s brother was one of the 326 survivors from the USS Arizona when attacked by The Empire of Japan at Pearl Harbor on 12/07/1941.

They (the radar ship) had been tracking a number of objects at various altitudes, some of the altitudes extremely high, for days. The object went off the screen, and showed up again about three minutes later, 60 miles away. That's 20 miles a minute, with no contrails, sonic boom, or radar presence. And this huge leap in technology is held by him to be a military black op? I respect the man greatly, but there's not a chance in hell that these objects are current tech. Neither was his casual statement that UFOs had only been seen in these areas correct. They have been seen widely used throughout the world, and for long before any such technology was possible. It was painful seeing the man tie himself into knots trying to avoid a conclusion he cannot accept: that these objects are not human-made, and are therefore extraterrestrial in nature. Why are they here? Who knows? As long as they aren't bothering us, it doesn't matter.

Spot on Brett, and might i add, that the Cmd. Fravor sighting was back in 2004! So to say that this technology was up and running 18 years ago, is i'm sorry to say... ridiculous! For god sakes, the Iphone was'nt even invented back then! As you say, the technological leap is so gigantic, that this premise can only be complete nonsense. Like the topspeed of the fastest car in the world did'nt go from 60 mph to 600 mph over night, there where small inventions and add-ons from years and years of testing and development. The evolution is like that in any technological developmen. I can't think of any technological leap, that even comes close to what is proposed. One other thing, if this kind of tech, was so superior compared to what we knew in 2004, why was this held back over the last couple of decades where the US and allies have been at war in the middle east. The "tictac" implemented as a "killer-drone"(for lack of better word) could have saved thousands of soldiers lives. A logical answer to these UAP's as i see it is, that they are "unmanned" space propes from an extraterrestrial civilisation, propes kind of like our Voyagers and Pathfinder etc. I think it matters a great deal what these UAP's is and who is controlling them, because like the plot is in many alien sci-fi movies, either there are friendly or they are hostile, it's 50/50.

Like putting glass under water stream, where the water runs over the glass and it's transparent, but on the edges where the water is getting on top of the glass, you can see the edges are raised slightly so that when it moves it looks like an cloaked triangle where as it is moving in the sky the light is bending differently around its edges. 😊

@danieltodd1750
@danieltodd1750 Жыл бұрын
@@matthewdavies2057 I know nothing! I'm just saying what I saw. It was maybe 150 yards from where I was standing, above a high rise building, on a summer evening last year, around 9pm in the Northern Hemisphere in Canada. So it was still barely light outside but turning to darkness. And it was hovering slowly above the building and then disappeared. It scared the shit out of me and I phoned a bunch of my friends. Then I googled "translucent triangle ufo" and there was hundreds of sightings others saw too everywhere. The fact that there are very few sightings over Russian and Chinese space (you can see the GIS mapping of UFO sightings - almost all of them are in US, Canada and UK, and Western Europe, and then in Australia, Japan and South East Asia and Africa - but almost none over former Soviet territory and China) suggests that this is NATO military technology experimentation. The ability to reflect light by bending light in some way to cloak or hide a craft is theoretically very plausible. The stealth fighters are all triangular. The creation of the US space force at the same time as the new UFO revelations also suggests this. My guess is that this is purposeful deep state media manipulation in order to deflect from the many space launches they are doing. Elon Musk's spaceX and his internet satellites are another deflection that the deep state would use to explain sightings so the convergence of all these things all at the same time suggests to me that the purpose of the space force is to deploy military capacity in the orbit of the earth and install cannons in order to be able to bomb a target on the earth. Whoever can do that will permanently control the world since they will be virtually indestructible while having the ability to exert force on anywhere unopposed. To do that, you would need the ability to launch a missile from space. To launch a conventional missile from space wouldn't be possible, since they are shot out through physical combustion and pressure, and for that you need air made up of oxygen, since without oxygen there is no combustion, and there is no air in space. So the missile could not be a conventional bomb. Rather, you would need a laser of some kind, as in the space movies, but that requires an enormous amount of energy, since a laser is essentially light, and photonic energy is miniscule, you would need ridiculous amounts of energy to yield any sort of destructive power by laser alone. However, you could use kinetic energy, a sort of sling-shot or ballistic projectile, which you could launch into the orbit of the earth with proper calculations, and as it enters the earth's gravity, it will be pulled into the orbit picking up speed and accelerating, so that when it hits a target on the earth, it's possible theoretically it could have a massive impact implosion - akin to a meteor hitting the earth, like the big one that destroyed the dinosaurs. I'm guessing you could easily get the impact as would be generated by a conventional nuclear weapon, but without any of the nuclear fall out that would contaminate a large area. That's my guess of what all this is. It's a violation of various treaties the US has signed on weaponization of space, so they're using the cover of UFO sightings and sending out the deep state agents to misinform so that if someone sees a launch or something they're doing, they would think "UFO."

It is not just the time/distance involved, but they would have to sustain themselves over this time and distance, they would have to have fuel for their transportation system, and they would have to figure out how to survive here, in a place that is 99.9999% likely not to be anything like where they came from. 3. Did they come all this way just to toy with us? Why is there no credible contact? What reason could they possibly have to search for life in the universe, find us, and then just play hide and seek? 4. Not mentioned are events like Roswell, with alien crashes. Does anyone really believe an alien civilization could have the smarts to find/travel here and than crash? I agree with Carroll. DOD is very smart.

@@zgwforum Such an advanced civilization has likely learned how to manipulate time-space. This would explain how they could traverse the Universe in seconds rather than lightyears. It would also explain the UAPs' ability to move in and out of our dimension, allowing them to disappear. As far as motive is concerned, how about our own space program? Why have we sent Voyager probes across our solar system? There is an assumption in the DOD reports that if these UAPs have extraterrestrial origins, then extraterrestrial beings must be piloting them. But they could simply be sophisticated drones that have the ability to react with their environment. Perhaps there is a mothership hiding in plain sight. That's been my speculation, too, for a good while now. The attached clip reminds me that just a few years ago people all over the world would report and even film formations of a half dozen or so strange lights in the air and called them UFO. Having been assigned to Korea in the early 70's (USAFSS/NSA) and marveled at the technology we utilized to monitor all air traffic in the North with such clarity that we recognized the individual voices of ground controllers, remote observers, as well as the pilots, I can only ignorantly imagine what cool technological toys our military and three-letter agencies utilize today. And , btw, it was downright hilarious to listen in on the North Koreans as they belatedly reacted and scrambled while one of our Blackbirds had already passed over above and was already returning to base. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYWtaIaCfpecodk

The difference of course being if someone had encountered a Blackbird when it was a secret program, or even one hundred years prior, during the dawn of aviation, everything about it would have been readily explainable to, and understood by, anyone with even a cursory knowledge of aerodynamics, power plants and engineering. Clearly not the case here as they’re simply not examples of an ‘advanced anything’ we’re already even vaguely familiar with.

Not sure Ward can deny his ‘exemplary military’ perspective, which starts and ends with a ‘defend the nation’ against all (external) threats perspective. The indefensible technology demonstrated to both military and civilian witnesses over the years would amount to an ‘unbelievable’ scenario to those with that belief set. To limit his analysis to that recent pair of military witnessed incidents, and conclude that they in isolation clearly prove that it’s just ‘our’ guys trying out their new knowledge of physics, is at least as comforting as wearing your military garb on into retirement.

Commander Fravor, as well as his weapons officer, his wingman and her back seater all had visual sightings. The FLIR footage was shot by one of Fravor's squadron mates in a follow on flight. The UAP encounter was also observed on radar by the E-2 AWACS from the Nimitz and the tracks recorded. After the E-2 returned to the ship, the recordings were placed in a safe which was normal procedure. Later the same day an Air Force helo landed on the flight deck and two officers in flight suits entered the island; a short time later the two AF officers, accompanied by the ship's captain, entered the compartment where the radar tapes were kept and the E-2 radar operator was ordered to turn the tapes over to them. I've not read or seen what happened with the FLIR recordings, but one way or another they obviously ended up at the Pentagon before being leaked by Chirstopher Mellon. This info is all easily available on line, including interviews with the E-2 radar operator and Chief Day, the radar operator on USS Princeton who innitially vectored Commander Fravor's flight to the anomaly. I'm a Naval Air veteran and deployed twice to Vietnam with VA-97 (now VFA-97) aboard USS Enterprise. The Navy trained me as an avionics tech and my civilian carreer was maintaining microprocessor controlled equipment.

Love Ward's videos! My take on this one, though: Ward (not by quote, but by essence): We just don't know what these things are. However, we can dismiss # 3 (aliens) right out of the gate because we don't see any aliens on Mars. Despite that these things seem to violate our known physics, have had similar reports for decades (or more), and similar reports from other countries and their militaries or civilian populations; let's not get ridiculous and think it could be aliens. It's almost certainly DARPA with game-changing technology, that we shouldn't be outraged they're holding secret rather than displaying openly to push nuclear weapons into obsolescence and maybe affect climate change. Me: Who knows what they are? However, considering we're a young star system among the plethora of now accepted goldilocks planets in our own galaxy, and an even younger species; considering our age, and if we have developed this game changing technology ourselves, wouldn't it be just as likely that far older non-terrestrial species couldn't have developed similar; and considering we haven't even touched on latest physics theories touching on possible interdimensional travelling or merging from manipulation of vibrational frequencies that could possibly take care of those whole time/distance problems and otherwise affect reality; wouldn't the alien hypothesis be every bit as likely as the other two choices, rather than just dismissing it out of hand? On further thought, nah, that's crazy. Gotta be DARPA.

Come on, how likely is it, that DARPA, any other US agency, the Chinese or the Russians have secretely developed such a technology? I mean, several hundred G's?? Works apparently anywhere, in the air, in the water and even in space? Sorry guys, if you believe this, you'll believe anything. It's just as likely as a secret Nazi base in Antarctica that operates flying saucers like the "Reichsflugscheibe" or the "Hanebu"... I do not know where these objects come from, nor do I claim to be an expert on that matter. But I cannot believe that it is possible for any nation to be in possession of such a groundbreaking technology and keep it secret. Just doesn't work. Imagine the number of people that had to be involved in such a project. I do not believe it is possible to keep them all from talking... I'd really like to believe that it is an US project. The idea that the Russians or Chinese possess such a technology makes me throw up... then I'd prefer aliens.

As much as I respect Mr. Carroll and appreciate the years he spent serving our great country...I feel he overlooked and/or dismissed quite a bit of reliable data and testimony that would tip the scale more toward his number "3" option. First...the Nimitz encounters happened in 2004. So let's assume for minute that these are in fact manmade aircraft...that means the early design phase for these aircraft likely started 10-15 years before a FIRST PROTOTYPE flight which likely came well before the 2004 Nimitz encounter. Imo the vehicles the Nimitz strike group encountered were well beyond a prototype phase as, according to USS Princeton Senior Chief Kevin Day, there were multiple UAP contacts on his radar at any given time over multiple days. It's not very likely, as history shows, that the US gov't would commission several "unproven" air craft to be built from the get go. There would be a lengthy test flight / trial period before green lighting construction of additional units. Also, the US gov't likely wouldn't have such a radical unproven prototype aircraft operating anywhere near where a USN carrier strike group was doing work ups. You run far too much risk of a mishap(mid-air collision etc.) So one could deduce, IF manmade, these things were already a well proven "production" model. Thus pushing the design phase of the aircraft back into the late 80's to early 90's timeframe. My point is that these aircraft, IF manmade, would have been designed around the same time as the YF-22 project that started back in the early 1980's. The YF-22 though revolutionary at the time, was/is still quite a conventional aircraft. Wings...check. Fossil fuel burning engines giving off thrust, heat, and sound...check. Now with the rough design time frame for these aircraft being in the late 1980's to early 90's...does it seem remotely possible that anyone on earth could have designed and built such a radical aircraft at that time? Could anyone build such a ultra high performance aircraft that has ZERO visible means of propulsion or lift even today? Could anyone then or now build an aircraft capable of jumping from well below subsonic speeds to over 10k mph in the blink of an eye while sustaining hundreds of g's? The performance envelop these things demonstrate is not simply game changing as the F-22 was...these UAP craft represent an entirely new sport. A sport I do not believe we humans know the rules to just yet. ;)

@@1gallimaufry there are several ways of dealing with distances of several light years. One is that this object might be a probe designed to travel very fast through space, like a significant percentage of light speed which we know would be possible by laser, antimatter, nuclear, or ion propulsion which is only about a few decades to a centuries more advanced than we are on earth right now and if it had enough time to accelerate then this probe could have traveled for hundreds or even thousands of years (we don’t know what an alien’s lifespan would be anyway).
