Good way to put it into perspective mate, most people wouldn't be hitting anywhere near that without bait (including myself lol) let alone with bait! You are something else 🚀👊

Good video mate. Did a similar thing a while back but our beaches are crap dont fish them much mostly fish rock marks and access for swinging extremely limited. Hitting around 140yds with a decent overhead thump medium size bait on Sloshes 35lb line. Same bait jumped to 165yd overhead thump on abu 6500 with 18lb line. Going by your video 200yds+ defo achievable for a good caster swinging it, not into a strong headwind mind you

Thanks mate 👍👍 i try to keep my fishing cast simple so i can use the same cast on all the marks such as over boulders on cliff marks. Only after i watched the video back i realised with the 7oz and sandeel tournament cast i set up all wrong 🙈 normally my right leg is in front but on this cast it was left leg forward i wondered at the time why it nearly hit me off my feet 😂😂

Great video, thanks. Would be really interesting to see you go through same programme with fixed spools, for comparison?

A really interesting and informative video. Out of interest how far do you think an overhead thump cast by an average angler with a continental rod would travel with a three hook baited ragworm flapper on a calm day. I know that it’s difficult to generalise like this because there are so many potential variables at play, but just a general rule of thumb view would be interesting.
@OverSheGoes3 ай бұрын
Thanks mate 👍👍 hard to say really like you mentioned but a good thump i would say 60-80. Its a tough one really i know with the carp casting lads they do something similar with an overhead thump and they can see phenomenal distances

Nice one. With your standard 'fishing cast' and a plain lead (not your tournament roll-over), how far would you expect to get, i.e. how much has the bait and pulley rig taken off your cast because of extra drag? Cheers.
@OverSheGoes3 ай бұрын
@@rocketman9813 hi mate plain lead with the fishing cast and fishing reel id expect it around the 200-210. In my instance the fishing cast with bait was just shy of 170 so roughly around 30 yards less than my tournament cast 👍👍 with a tournament reel im sure i could hit the bait over 200. A video im hoping to do soon 👍👍

Very interesting 👍 I am new to beach fishing and have a lot to learn, but the thing that strikes me most is how crap the cool boxes are. Quality bait is a must in any fishing yet the cool boxes are junk. Is there a cool box you can recommend?
@OverSheGoes4 ай бұрын
Thanks mate 👍👍👍 theres a few good brand out there now Coleman Igloo seagreen i think the best thing to do is use cool packs too to optimise keeping the bait frozen 👍👍

What distance do u think you could do with the tope setup with a fixed spool and braid?
@OverSheGoes3 ай бұрын
@@richardhewitt4243 hi mate not a big fan of fixed spools but i would like to think in the right hands the same distance as the multiplayer can be achieved. I see Fixed spool reels and braid more popular these days 👍👍

Wouldn’t want to thumb fight you fella! You must have a bionic grip on your left thumb, tournament casting a big lead and bait without slipping.
