That last line by Hugh always felt so rough to me. After this long fought journey he finds what he's looking for but not only is it not what he expected but the shock of what was once his little sisters Purrloin being unrecognizable as well as aggressive towards him is so bittersweet it hurts to watch. Hugh is an underrated rival, and excluding N, has the best arc of any other rival imo.

There’s something so eerie about hearing the engine room, and the shattering of Hughe’s spirit. I remember, even as a little kid after the chaos of all the shadow battles just how quiet it was, and how incredibly sad it was, especially when you step out of the room when you hear the theme of the giant chasm again. As an older sibling myself, I can just feel the pain and imagine the gears spinning in his head, and how he’s going to explain all of this, or even if he should.

I've gotta say, the Plasma Frigate is probably one of my most favorite villain hideout themes in the franchise. I love how tense yet sinister it sounds. It really emphasizes the atmosphere and the stakes of the story at this point. The new Team Plasma has a weapon that could actually let them succeed in conquering Unova if no one stands up to them. This theme captures that so well.

It depends on the circumstance. It won't count as a win for the 'mon that gets the KO. It will, however, count as a loss for the 'mon that gets KO'd. The exception are the Mix Tournaments in the PWT, where a team member is borrowed by the opponent. Those wins and losses still count as usual, so McFly picked up 2 wins while being used by the opponent, and Aidan got 2 wins from KO-ing McFly in the following battle, and later Pignati in the third battle. Aidan KO-ing Harmony, however, doesn't count as a win because it was an accident. It still counts as a loss for Harmony, though.

Colress' battle theme is one of the most popular themes in the series and, yes, it's absolutely one of mine as well. I love Ghetsis so much. I just love how vile he is any time you seem him after he lets the facade drop. Even when he was putting on an act back in the first game, the fact that he goes out of his way to personally taunt you alone is just so incredibly petty (with the added bonus that he absolutely could seeing as he had everyone wrapped around his finger) and I am absolutely here for it. There's nothing better than a love to hate villian and, as he shows in both his prequel and sequel, he more than fulfills that category.

I mean, Team Galactic kinda succeed in Platinum. Team Aqua and Magma actually DO succeed, only to realize they succeeded a little too well. The only team that actually outright fails with their attempts to use legendaries is Team Flare. And I guess you could say Team Galactic still failed in DP and only succeeded by accident in Platinum. Either way, they're all eventually stopped not long after succeeding. It's like if Yoda and Obi-Wan managed to kill Anakin and Palpatine lol.

Team Galactic is my favorite evil team, almost purely due to their ridiculous outfits and the fact that, like Team Plasma, you can actually see them do damage to the world. They blow up the lakes, torture the lake trio in the basement of their base making the chain, and in the post-game of Platinum, after Cyrus decides to stay in the Distortion world, you can see the team lost without him. Ghetsis is a monster of a human being. Not only he maniuplated N who cared so deeply for Pokemon but he fooled him into thinking that Humans treat Pokemon like garbage. While that is somewhat true the thing is not all humans are bad, but because Ghetsis filled N's head with all this information that Pokemon and Humans must be seperated he carried out the plan. However when the trainer (us) stopped N for good Ghetsis revealed his true intentions how the idea of liberating Pokemon was an excuse and he can have all the Pokemon to himself to rule the world. He doesn't care about anyone, not even his own team, but himself. Out of all the Team Antagonists Ghetsis is by far the most evil and vile villian in Pokemon History.

I forget if it was said in an earlier Chuggaaconroy video or from another channel(I apologize for forgetting if it was indeed from Chuggaa's channel), but the scene with Hugh reuniting with his sister's Purrloin now evolved into a Liepard is impactful due to the implications. It exposed a flaw with the technology of Poké Balls. Even though Purrloin was adopted by Hugh's family, unless being captured in a Ball was involved in the adoption process(provided Purrloin's Ball wasn't stolen along with Purrloin), this was something that could happen to the Pokémon of any trainer or, more likely, pet owner in the Pokémon world. Poké Ball technology needs to be corrected to prevent situations like this from happening in the future.

Coming in to mention that, if you talk to Hugh/Typhoon before fighting the rest of the triad, he apologizes for not being able to help, but now the Purrloin he’s been looking for has evolved and is glaring at him, it’s kind of messing with him and he’s not sure what to do now. Also there’s some extra flavor text when you interact with the monitors. Nothin too interesting, but it’s a neat touch.

Pignati, Entry Log 62: I… I don’t even know to start. Colress, the guy who’s been quite insightful and helpful was the Second Boss of Team Plasma while the old tyrant Ghetsis ruled in the shadows. Then we find the Purrloin, Typhoon had been searching for all of this time to find out they had evolved and had been trained mercilessly into a fighting machine. I don’t even recall the fight I had with the first Shadow Triad member. Colress is a mad man who only cares about his research and Liepard doesn’t even recognize their trainer. It really doesn’t help with how cold and detached the ninjas were. I… I don’t know what else to say. McFly, Entry Log 57: Tragedy. Madness. Ruthlessness. We experienced these three things and more today as we fought our way through the rest of the Plasma Frigate. The last few battles and encounters here have left us with nothing more than anger and sorrow. I am sorry Typhoon, I am sorry Liepard, I am sorry little girl. But things can be healed with time and effort so I do think that this cruel fate can be fixed. Aiden, Entry Log 52: Those… damn… cold hearted… Liepard I can see it in its eyes. It had no recollection of Typhoon. It stands there with the occasional growl as it waits for an order from its former master. As if it can’t do anything without a command. We took out the Shadow Triad this time managing to avoid any of their tricks. But the victory felt hollow I… Oh Typhoon, I swear we will get vengeance, Ghetsis is behind everything that has happened. He will not win. Jade, Entry Log 45: Oh f *Flygoncry* g h *Flygoncry* l on a c *Flygoncry* p basket. Just holy s *Flygoncry* t… That was just depressing… *GGGGrrrrrrrrrrrr* The Shadow Triad are so apathetic that beating them wasn’t even satisfying. Ghetsis, you will pay. We will rip your plans to pieces and you better hope I don’t get my claws on you sonofb- *FLYGON ROAR.* Harmony, Entry Log 36: WOW. Just WOW! Again anger doesn’t come easily for me but oh by Arceus’s name that was DARK and most certainly cruel. The horrible irony given what Liepard is! Curse you Shadow Triad, curse you Ghetsis! May the rage of a thousand Volcaronas burn you for all of eternity! Lasagna, Entry Log 4: I’ve been around for a good long while. Very few things get to me. But that… that poor Liepard. Those are the eyes of a pokémon who has been disciplined and broken beyond any humane standards. So sad, so horrible, so despicable. I don’t hold a lot of personal experienced with Team Plasma, their leaders, but… this has become personal. Ghetsis… you will find your plans falling down like a stack of playing cards soon enough. *Still in the room with Typhoon and Liepard* Blaise stood there with her pokémon out having healed all of them up for their next series of battles. She looks on as Typhoon just stands there in front of the clearly aggressive yet not moving Liepard. Pignati tries to get close only for the dark type cat to raise a claw with it glowing dark energy as it hisses. Pignati narrows his eyes and keeps moving forward only for the Liepard to swing furiously. Like a cornered animal it slashed at Pignati who endured the attacks as he tried to get close but it was just way to fast for him. Not helped by the fact that he was trying to be gentle. The others all tried similar tactics but no matter what they attempted none of them were fast enough or could find a safe way to approach. Be it food, good scents, or just straight barreling forwards only for all of them to come out empty handed and covered in claw marks to which Blaise did her best to heal up. Burn is a weird status in that it doesnt halve your attack stat but instead halves the power of physical moves specifically, so Earthquake goes from 100 power to 50 power

This!!!! This entire sequence!!!!! This sequence is arguably why I love this game so damn much. When this game came out, I was in the middle of high school, in peak time to be emotionally affected, and I’d been getting into Pokémon fanfiction for the first time; this is when I started really caring about Pokémon as a world, and about the characters, and this whole sequence on the frigate is why. Hugh’s bitter finale to his arc, Colress’s fascinating mentality, the sheer number of Neo Team Plasma grunts who are here simply because they believe they have nowhere else to go after the things they wound up doing in the last game, and, most of all: A living creature, stuck in a pod, being drained of its power, that we can only stare down at and are _powerless_ to help. This game is one of my favorites for many reasons, but this? This is a big one.

Things learned from this episode: -Chugga would fail every perception check - IE with him missing Full Restore multiple times and adding more steps to the pipe puzzle when he had the way out already lol -Chugga confusing Weavile for a cat when its based on a weasel. -Chugga should never gloat cuz it blows up in his face.
