I tell him I’m a god, because I’m a child of God(Psalms 82:6, John 10:34, John 14:15-21). u have been defeated and u have no control over me(John 16:33, John 14:30). u r nothing, nothing but my footstool(Psalms 110:1) I will be content no matter the circumstances(Philippians 4:11), because I want and know TMH will is being done in my life(Proverbs 3:5-6, Luke 22:42, Matt 6:10). And He absolutely won’t allow me to go thur anything I can’t bear(1 Corinthians 10:13).

This was so good and a necessary conversation about a healthy self esteem and knowing we are enough as long as we are building on the fundamentals God gave us, being healthy and most especially without it being about people or external validation. God already validated us. There are many baddies and men who looked like they walked out of a GQ magazine that still battle with inadequacy. I find it interesting that so many beautiful women are so insecure about themselves. She was able to secure a husband the way she looked, but that still wasn't enough for her ego. At least she learned a lesson from her discission and is willing to share her experience. Perhaps it will inspire some of our women to, at the very least, take out these crazy looking weaves and take off these ridiculous looking fake eye lashes.

Also, I don’t think it would be as much of an issue if so many women didn’t over do it with super, super long hair and a lot of the synthetics just look unnatural and have a plastic shine to them. I’m concerned with where the culture of our people is going. Things that were taboo to the black community only 10 years ago are being embraced wholeheartedly now (body modification, lgbt, self harm). Hopefully it doesn’t become the norm in 5 years for our people to embrace things that are starting to become prevalent in other communities today.

INSANE, how you CAN'T WORKOUT, and GET PHYSICALLY HEALTHY AFTER a body modifying procedure! But really and truly, females get this done BECAUSE they DON'T WANT to put in the WORK required to workout AND eat right. BUT THEN to add the tummy tuck, which a flat stomach HAS to be maintained w/diet change AND EXERCISE, CAN'T BE maintained BECAUSE you CAN'T workout and your food choices haven't changed SO youre FORCED to go back and pay for anther tummy tuck say every 10 years or so. What a MESS!!! THANK YOU BOTH FOR THIS TRANSPARENT CONVO!!
