I was born to a tribe in Mexico that i never got to know in my youth. But i was raised by the Yokuts as a child and was taken in by the Carothers. I even climbed that same water tower they treat the water in.

wow, what a beautiful, inspirational and informative film. I am very proud to say this too is where my heart is. The film has reminded me of my part in improving the community, not hindering it. Everyone should see this, so maybe if we have forgotten the importance of our role, it will remind us we all have a part to play. As a former employee of EMC and most recently TRIHC,inc and a registered member of The Cherokee Nation Thank you for inspiring me to get back to the goal of again serving this community that has always made me feel at home. Native Pride at its best!

Beautifully done video. I've just started T.E.K.training here which was started by a beautiful Maidu woman. I highly suggest learning traditional ecological knowledge if it is available to anyone who has viewed this video. Kind regards and thank you for this wonderful video.

Correct history is important and imperative. My granddaughter came home from school one day and announced this. John Bidwell that founded our town (no he did not, this was this land belonged to the Maidu tribe) gave land to the natives here. What????? I corrected that right away. He stole the natives land here. Then "gave" them a small portion. His "servant" was a small male child. How disgusting that lies are still being taught to our children.

My father took us to visit the area in the 1960s. He had a native friend living there with amputated legs. I was wondering if anyone could help me remember this man's name. Thank you very much.

Aloha and Congratulations. It's nice to hear a positive story once in a while. What do you find in the water? Do you find aluminum? Has there ever been an archeological survey of the reservation? In the video I noticed some massive boulders that looked intentionally put there. Do you have any thing like that? Keep up the great work in your community. Mahalo

All people are all connected despite living in different areas. We are here (or should be) to help one another I would like to share the knowledge of self sustainable housing, that is if your not aware of this already, earthship.com/ . Connection to the past is essential, I wish my son had this connection..unfortunately my family does not see the importance in the youth - I cannot understand this, I would be at a great loss without the wisdom and connection I had with my Grandmother and Aunt. Thank you for your prayers.
