The quality of your videos has improved dramatically in recent months. I have always enjoyed your videos, but lately you really have me hooked! Your recent underground videos are no less than amazing!!! You deserve a lot more KZbin views than you are getting. If I may be so presumptuous as to suggest something you should try, I suggest you tinker with the descriptive words you use in your titles. Remember, we all use key words to locate the videos that interest us. You might consider using some of the same descriptive terms used in the titles of those Urbex videos that get really high numbers of views. Most important, though, please keep up the quality work you are doing. If you ever hear of a site where the remains of early oil exploration in PA still exists, I would love to see a video about such a place. Thanks! PS: I would have killed to get you as a social studies or geography teacher for my kids when they were in school!

I am always stunned at the whims of human commerce. Once upon a time humans poured tremendous investments of cash and labor and material to create that joint which employed obviously a lot of people. And then the same whims that created it deemed it obsolete and now it stands as a testimony to the same fickle commerce that created it. And every community in this country seems to be peppered with these sites. When I was younger I used to explore some of them. It really sends home the message of human mortality, as far as I'm concerned.

When it comes to outdoor adventure and historical remnants, old buildings, factories, and settlements from the earliest people who came to the U.S. way in the past....Pennsylvania is one of the most incredible places to explore. As a kid I did much walking in western PA. I remember being a kid, wearing my headphones listening to RUSH and Black Sabbath (yes... a Walkman with cassettes), walking in the snow at nighttime and smoking (ahem...cough cough...) and exploring new places. It truly was an amazing experience.

What a cool place. I was imagining restoring that large building into a museum or studio. Seems a shame that it's falling into ruin, though I think it will be a long time before those walls come down. For a few million you could do wonders with that place, eh? Of course with a few million you'd be sitting on the porch of you cabin by your creek. Thanks Much, a cool journey. That tunnel would be a great pathway to your wine cellar from the big building. I wonder if it is haunted that tunnel to horror. DaveyJO

A blessed Christmas to you Cliff! So, ashamed to admit, could not stomach the cave crickets. Ugh. Give me slimy, stinky, dangerous, but I have a few phobias. Large gatherings of large insect-like critters and anything that ends in -pede. Otherwise that was really cool. The large bldg did indeed appear to have been a church though seems such would be out of place there? Thank you for this pre holiday treat. I’m looking forward to our Christmas camping. This year at Prince Galitzen, winter hiking, fires and catching up on TWW and JPV from our cabin in the woods. Nothing better!

This is the Thomas Iron Works. This was one of the biggest iron producers of the 19th century, though these ruins are from early in the 20th century. The big building was the engine house, where massive steam engines provided the blast for the furnace. this is what it looked like before demolition. That "big" building is small compared to the furnace: digital.lib.lehigh.edu/cdm4/beyond_viewer.php?DMTHUMB=1&DMTEXT=thomas%20iron&searchworks=searchthomas%20iron_3_0_1_0_0_0_0&ptr=010737

He started out on the Ironton Railroad. The bridge was part of a Jersey Central spur that came across the river from their mainline to interchange with the IRR and access the Thomas Iron Company. The Lehigh Valley RR also had their mainline on the river side of the IRR tracks (and ran right alongside the Thomas Iron Works). There was also a Reading Company Interchange and even an Lehigh & New England bridge and interchange about a quarter mile south.
