The Twelve Tenses of English: A Quick Introduction to How and Why We Use Each Tense
You aren't going to learn to use the twelve tenses perfectly by watching one video. Learning all of them takes time and practice.
However, you can quickly learn the basic reasons WHY we use each of them, and that's what this video is for.
This video explains the basic reasons why we use each of the twelve tenses, gives you an example or two for each tense, and explains some of the basic structures that we use with the different tenses.
I'm Teacher Mike, and I'm an English teacher from the United States. I usually post 3-5 new English learning videos/lessons each week, so make sure to subscribe to this channel and turn on your notifications if you are interested in improving your English.

When I was 20, I had never been to Machupicchu, Cuzco. I went with my parents there when I was 21. During my trip, I had the opportunity to speak English with a few tourists. I remember that we were walking toward some ruins when we met a tourist from Irleand, and he said "I will be visiting Cuzco for a week." I have been to Machupicchu and I can say "it's wonderful and magnificient." If one day you visit my country, I suggest visiting Machupicchu, Mike.😊😊

let’s say if someone started painting walls 2 days ago but his work is finished yet, shall i use present continuous or present perfect continuous. for example i have heard people saying i am doing bachelor(degree) in science. why don’t they say “i have been doing bachelor(degree) in science. which would be correct to say ?i am painting walls or i have been painting walls

Present perfect continuous focuses more on the fact that something started in the past. Present continuous focuses on the fact that something is continuing now.

Wonderful, amazing, very easy to understand.I do like your video. Thanks to your explanation,I find it easy to fully understand English tenses. And what about the future in the past tense,it seems to me that English speakers ignore the tense.I have found many English grammar books by both English and American authors, but I can't understand the use of future in the past in daily life completely. If possible, could you please make a video on the tense.Thank you so much.
