teachers are way too underpaid to be worried about how they look outside of business hours. as long as your kids are getting quality education from this teacher, you should not care about what she does in her personal life. the problem is that we live in a digital age. but you shouldn't have to restrict your life out of fear that someone may be recording you. that's not living.

Her twerking on vacation doesn't affect her ability to educate those children. I mean Tamar, you're a mother, people try to say mother's should behave a certain way. You have a kid, and you still twerk your ass off ... I think people get way too worked up over nothing

I agree! Tamar has a child and performs in revealing outfits and twerks on stage (not saying theres anything wrong with that) and at the end of the day she goes home and is a mother to her son. Ideally, I want to agree with Adrienne because folks need to mind their own business. However, the higher your position comes more responsibility; especially as an educator. Whew, I'm glad there was no FB or Instagram back when I was in high school.
@adeleloverable8 жыл бұрын
+Myshere Taylor Hello, although you might be right about the position in which a teacher holds and the power and influence they have. You are very misinformed. This very teacher has not been recorded as a bad teacher in her classroom. However she has been ridiculed for what she did while on vacation on her free time where she was not teaching. I do not know what you do for a living but I'm sure you wouldn't want your job to define you. Teachers are not Teachers 24/7 we are regular human beings once we leave our classroom.
@mtaylor86458 жыл бұрын
vanessa vee Misinformed? I never questioned her role as a teacher. However, being an educator, you hold a higher level of responsibility at all times--especially publicly. It just doesn't look good for a teacher to be seen on social media shaking her a$$. For instance, it wouldn't be appropriate for a president or a judge to make it rain at a strip club.
@adeleloverable8 жыл бұрын
I am very sure she didn't know she was being recorded. She was on vacation and having fun. Who are you to make to say what is appropriate and what is not. At the end of the day your job does not define you. Lets take a garbage man for instance, is a garbage man always a garbage man even when he's not on the clock? No he is not, so you don't expect a garbage man to pick up after you but you expect a teacher to always e a teacher?
@mtaylor86458 жыл бұрын
vanessa vee It wasn't me who removed this teacher from her position. Therefore, I'm not judging anyone. As far as a garbage man is concerned, I'm sure his/her boss would care less because that is a low position to have, as far as profession is concerned. You don't seem to get it so I'll stop here. Idk, I kind of agree with Adrienne on this one. Teachers should be experts of their crafts. If she's an amazing math teacher, then her twerking doesn't change that. It is up to the parents to show what values they want their children to adopt, it has nothing to do with the teacher. Plenty of teachers smoke or are overweight, should we start filtering then out as well because it's a bad example to set to the students.

+Jay Garcia a teachers job isn't only to teach a subject to their students. especially elementary school. They are expected to help teach them how to act in a workplace, be a emotional support, set an example of following the schools guidelines and expectations and much more. If any of the students were to stumble upon that video they would question why they have to follow certain rules and why their teacher has the right to enforce certain rules that she doesn't even follow herself. yes its parents responsibility to teach their children and instill morals. But schools have their own guidelines and expectations that they need t o enforce. Elementary schools often have it written into their mission statement to nourish young minds and build upstanding students. Twerking in a bikini doesn't fall under that category...

So It's now your duty to honor that. Simple

I don't know why a lot of you are hating on Adrienne right now, but I agree with her. Is she twerking in front of your kid? We don't even know when this was taken, it might be when she was in college. Teachers are underpaid as it is and it is the one profession that gets on your nerves, because kids from different backgrounds come to the same place and you don't even know the kind of nonsense some parents teach their kids. Some parents think of themselves as god and it is their right to judge you and no teacher is ever going to be good enough for their kid. I can not believe that the society is still judging people for being themselves. As far as she teaches and treats her students right, no one should judge these random acts of foolishness. +ifka Twerking' is a provocative dance but should that result in the cancellation of this woman's livelihood? Teachers go get an education & licenses to teach children. Teachers were once college students that went on spring break. When said studying teacher becomes a practicing teacher, should she be penalized for doing something that happened in her past? That's completely, utterly ridiculous. I'm sorry, I'm agreeing with Adrienne on this issue full force.
@iffy90968 жыл бұрын
travellj I didn't say that nor did they, but what I agreed with is the idea of doing things like twerking behind closed doors, especially if you are a role model to little kids. This has nothing to do with her past. Clearly she was twerking in front of an audience, knowing the next day she had a job as a teacher in an elementary school. It was a bad call. However,the past is the past, but we live in a world where people will judge you for what you did in your past.

What's the difference between a teacher, a mayor, a singer, or dentist twerking? Only one can get fired from their job because of perception. tamar and tamera are right in my opinion. when you choose a job such as a teacher, you should be smart and conscious of what you do and how you do it. her being at the spring break bash isn't a problem, but when you get on stage and compete in a booty shaking competition, thats when things become a problem. the reality of the situation like tamera said is people in fields that teach the youth, or the word, or some other things are just held to a higher standard, and you should know that when you take that position.

All I get from this is...Don't be a teacher in the US. They don't pay them well, but expect that they're to be sitting at home knitting and watching soap operas in their spare time. My opinion is that this woman did nothing wrong. She's obviously young, but has a good head on her shoulders. She's completed her schooling in one of the noble professions and before this moment there was nothing against her. She is entitled to have fun in anyway she chooses unless it is against the law. A lot of these parents are worried about what this one and that one are doing, but their children are there with no manners disrespecting them - they learn that at home.

Damn!!! Teachers get paid virtually scraps to educate kids, be a body guard, raise other people's children, counsel kids, mentor, etc. All while sacrificing their personal lives to be a perfect role model. If that's the case, you definitely wouldn't catch me teaching a classroom.

YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE KIDS TO UNDERSTAND THIS PEOPLE. I would only agree if these were private schools-- if it's a private school, not funded by the government, sure do whatever you want. The public schools only do these witch hunts because they feel the pressure from parents who thing the teacher's behavior OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOL is inappropriate. We're talking about telling someone to sucker their own life because of their job. Doctor, nurse-- I don't care. A kid especially at that age is not going to understand the significance of this video until they're older. Everyone should be careful in a "all camera world", but so long as she's not breaking the law, she has every right to do what she wants and should have only gotten fired if there was a clause in her contract saying that she did have to "uphold some moral code". If that's the case, ya lady, you got fired. Teachers desperately need jobs though, so I'm really sympathetic to her considering now she may be unemployed. WATCHU LADIES TALKING ABOUT JUDGING THIS WOMAN TWERKING WHEN YOU LADIES HAD A FREAKING TUTORIAL ON TWERKING. NO SHADE, BUT IT'S JUST HYPOCRITICAL. It's like how we don't mind bikinis, but bras and underwear are scandalous... like, what?!

As a mother AND wife, I think it is very vital to hold yourself to a certain standard in public! You can not carry yourself in a provocative way and expect to not be labeled. I served in the militaty and we were told specifically to conduct ourselves in a professional manner at all times when we were off base. People do not realize that when we take on these jobs, we do not represent ourselves, we represent the entire corporation. How you carry yourself in public when people know you work for certain establishments will affect rather or not customers will continue to come to your establishments!

It comes down to respect. When students see their teacher in this light they lose respect for them and it becomes a distraction in the classroom. Kids already act up but let their teacher be on the internet twerking and tell me they won't act a fool when they're in her class.

Totally agree with Tamar and Tamara. Honestly, anytime you choose a specific job it, there comes a responsibility and you know it before you accept it. You can't be a teacher and expect to be able to be in a twerking contest. As an educator, respect is necessary. If parents and students see you behaving this way, it can be a distraction in the classroom. Students will lose respect, especially this day and age with social media. Same for being President and First Lady, elected official, pastor, clergy, police, doctors, etc. Just last month a doctor in Miami was filmed harassing an uber driver, she was fired and rightly so, you represent your company. That means you have to be vigilant over how you display your personal life
@IraBronnson8 жыл бұрын
+Beauty Unraveled Excuse me harassment is harming other people and it is a crime. Having some fun and dancing is not illegal and harms literally no one. Also, I think you need to examine why you are so judgmental that you think someone who is dancing and having a good time shouldn't be respected. Maybe schoolchildren need to learn to have respect for all kinds of people!
@BeautyUnraveled8 жыл бұрын
You are making an assumption of my feelings. I don't think someone shouldn't be respected for dancing at all. But the reality is that Students WONT.. That is real life. I have certainly been in school where a teachers personal life comes up and it becomes a running joke for the entire school year.bottom line is it is a distraction.
@justmemadison8 жыл бұрын
+Beauty Unraveled If the kids she teaches were allowed at that party then there is more to be concerned about than that girls twerking. Where are their parents? Middle school aged kids at an adult party with alcohol, people wearing bathing suits, loud music, smoking, cursing, etc. The only way the kids she teaches know anything about what she was doing during her personal time is because their parents posted the video for them to see.
@BeautyUnraveled8 жыл бұрын
+justmemadison My point is we are living in a social media age. The kids don't have to be there. This became viral and trust and believe her student know. She is at spring break on a beach with a bunch of people.. Common sense says there will be cameras there, yet she volunteers to come on stage, that is the risk you take. I get exactly what Adrianne is saying and in an ideal world, we could do whatever we want, but that Is how it goes. When you choose to be a teacher, you have to know you at under a microscope so you have to be careful what you are doing in public. Many jobs make you sign moral clauses, and you have to be mindful of that even in your personal life. I feel bad that she had to lose your job, but I understand the schools position. That is how it goes in the real world

This is so dumb. I completely agree with Adrian. What she does outside of school has nothing to do with what she's doing in school. As long as she's teaching those kids in a respectful manner and not twerking and acting crazy in school it shouldn't matter. It's not a vid of her being racist, murdering someone, fighting, or any type of violent behavior so she should not be fired. She was simply having fun.

As a parent, my main concern would be about my child accessing this video. Boys might see this and get "excited" and that is there teacher out there barely dressed shaking her ass. I wouldn't want my son sitting in class distracted because he remembers his teacher half naked and gyrating.

The issue is that the video was uploaded without her permission. Parents do the most and hold teachers to standards that they themselves don't even meet

As a primary(elementary) teacher from UK , I definitely agree with Tamera. Going into the profession, from day 1, we are told to be aware of how we set high expectation inside and outside of school. Heck, I can't even shop in my local supermarket incase my kids see me buying alcohol or anything else along those lines. Teaching is a vocation, something that you have to commit to all the time. However, I do agree with Adrienne's final comments, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones so the parents can only complain and put it into action if they are also setting the right example. They can't just put the blame on the teacher.
@IraBronnson8 жыл бұрын
Tamar and Tamera are dead wrong. Elementary school teachers don't represent "young kids". Who says twerking is necessarily irresponsible? It's just dancing and having fun. She's not doing anything illegal, she's not harming anyone. Lets be real - her twerking on her vacation has NO impact on her abilities as a teacher. But for some reason people wanna clutch their pearls and be outraged that a teacher who is a young woman let her hair down on vacation.
