Bella is imagining Edward being there. He has no idea what she's going through. He left her because he thought she would forget him and go on to live a normal human life, which is what he wants the most for her. However, she is suffering from severe depression and residual PTSD from what happened with James in the last movie, and all she heard him say was "I don't want you" and that crushed her soul. She loves Jacob, but as a brother or friend.

one reading of this series that i really like is that bella is equally if not more attracted to the idea of becoming a vampire as she is to edward. bella sees herself as clumsy and awkward, and suddenly she has the chance to become a powerful, graceful, immortal being, and i think this is part of what drives her obsession with edward

I rarely comment, but a few informations here. 1:Vampires are monogamic, thats why Edward and Bella can't live without each other. 2: In the books its more clear (or at least was to me) that Bella wants Jacob as a friend, not boyfriend 3: The power you get as a vampire results from a talent you had as human. For example Edward can read minds because he was kind of a mentalist and always had an idea of other peoples thoughts. 4: Carlisles father was a vampire hunter, Carlisle got turned hunting vampires and didn't want to be a monster. So he actually did immediately go veggie. He's the only vampire who ( besides turning his family members) never killed a human.

Just to give you some info from the books from what I remember! Bella’s night terrors were usually nightmares about James terrorizing her and Edward leaving her in the forest where she walks around aimlessly for an eternity-really wish the films went into that a bit 🤔

I think its worth mentioning that the only reason there are werewolves right now is because the Cullens were living in the area and brought other vampires there by just existing. So, to Jacob, the werewolf-i-ness wouldn't be happening to him if it wasn't for Edward. And he wouldn't have to worry about hurting Bella.

Jasper's gift is my favorite. They simplify it by calling it mood control. Yes, he can effect moods, but he can also alter perception. In the first book when the rogue vampires came up to them during the baseball scene, Jasper made Emmett seem bigger, meaner, and scarier than he actually was... He also made Bella and Edward seem unassuming and un-interesting which made the other vampires not care about them. Initially.

Alice - had premonitions since she was a child. When those visions started including people dying or having accidents the people in town blamed her accusing her of cursing them. Her father put her in a mental asylum when she saw a vision of him planning the murder of her mom. In the asylum she had her hair shaved and received shock therapy which made her lose a lot of family memories. Jane and her twin Alec - Aro through seeing the thoughts of another vampire learned of the two children when they were toddlers. Good things tended to happen to those that were kind to them and their family. Bad things to those that were unkind. Aro wanted to wait until they grew up, but the town decided to burn them at the stake accusing them of being witches when they were only 13. Aro saved them from dying by turning them very young. Jane as she was being burned had so much hatred for the town she wished she could inflict the same burning sensation on to others. That's what the vampires feel when she decides to inflict pain. Alec also has a gift but I won't spoil it. Victoria - self- preservation. The wolves could never catch her because she has the ability to hide and evade others. This is why James was initially attracted to her. Since he was a tracker it fascinated him that she could hide from him. As a human she had men looking for her and thus had to learn how to hide. Bella's mental blockage could come from Charlie as Edward has mentioned that it is very difficult to read Charlie's thoughts. He can only read them about half of the time and he has to concentrate very hard.

Fun fact: James knew Alice before any of the Cullens when she was still a human. He smelled her scent and tracked her in the asylum. Alice saw him coming and told a vampire that worked at the asylum who would often help and protect her. The vampire wanted to hide Alice but the vision told her that it would be too late. The older vampire then decided to turn her himself. He then led James away from her so Alice would have time to turn. James became angry and killed the older vampire. When Alice woke up she didn't remember anything. That why she didn't recognize James in the baseball scene. James told Bella everything in the dancing studio. Bella is the one who tells Alice later.

To know the background of almost every character in the Twilight universe (when they were human, when they turned and their abilities) there is a guide that Stephenie wrote. It is called The Twilight Saga: The official illustrated Guide. Technically all the book that are about the Twilight universe are 1. TWILIGHT 2. NEW MOON 3. ECLIPSE 4. THE SHORT SECOND LIFE OF BREE TANNER ( A character that appears in Eclipse) 5. BREAKING DAWN 6. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: THE OFFICIAL ILLUSTRATED GUIDE 7. LIFE AND DEATH: TWILIGHT REIMAGINED (Essentially the first Twilight book with the characters switching genders) 8. apparently not all vampires are "gifted" in this universe, only a few get supernatural abilities which usually stems from their human traits before they get turned. funny enough, Carlisle's power is empathy, it's what enables him to have self control around human blood, his power overrides his lust. Edward can read thoughts, but only current thoughts in close vicinity. whereas Aro can read every single thought you've ever had via touch. Jane (the young looking volturi girl) can inflict excruciating pain just by looking at you . Victoria has self preservation powers, she can sense when someone is plotting to harm or kill her. Jasper can influence one's mood and make them scared, euphoric, calm, angry etc...

When Bella was screaming in her bed, she was having a nightmare. In the books it was explained she started to have them after Edward left. Also Edward wasn't using any vampire powers to contact her telepatically when they were a part, it was all in Bella's mind. In the books she just heard his voice and didn't see any visions. It's basically described in the books that Alice could guess/forsee the future to a an extent as a human. Edward had an easy time reading people, guessing their thoughts. So strong vampire powers usually manifest in some way already as humans. Think of it as becoming a vampire is just enhancing traits that were already there. Victoria and James have powers too, but not as cool. James had a hunter sense, which meant he could predict what moves his prey was going to do. Victoria has enhanced self-preservation, which means she can tell when she is about to be in danger and what she should do to stay safe. There is a whole list with vampire powers, but I won't mention more as those are the only ones explained as of this book.

Carlisle visited the Volturi but he was never one of them. He has never killed a human. There is in fact a way for him to immediately go veggie. LOL He was deeply religious and a vampire hunter when he was changed. He hated himself for being a vampire and tried to kill himself but couldn't. He traveled deep into the forest as he felt his thirst wearing away at his self-control. Then one day he came across a herd of deer and lost control and drank deer blood. Then he realized that he could live on animal blood, and he didn't have to kill people to survive. During his human life he killed and ate deer to survive so this was not objectionable to him, and he was able to find peace with himself to some extent. When he was with the Volturi he tried to convince them to not kill people, and they tried to convince him that he was being silly. Once he accepted that he couldn't convince them and got tired of being up close and personal with their human killing ways he left and went to America.

That’s kinda the point. The other 109 years, Edward had never met anyone. Rosalie was even ‘made’ by Carlisle for Edward, but they didn’t get along. His ‘mother,’ Esme has been sad & worried for years & wonders if perhaps he was too young when Carlisle changed him, since he’s never been attracted to anyone else. So, when he falls for Bella, it really hits him like a ton of bricks. The reason his family is so happy & kind to Bella is because they’ve been hoping for Edward to find someone for over 100 years now. The reason Rosalie doesn’t like her is because she’s jealous. Edward never wanted her, yet he wants this (in her mind) ‘pale, mousy’ girl. Rosalie is very beautiful, but she’s also incredibly vain & she can’t understand why Edward would choose Bella over her.

Hey, I know it's early but pleeeeeeease when you guys get to Breaking Dawn part 1, watch the extended version!!!!!!! There's a lot of amazing scenes that were cut from the final version!!!! Also some fun facts: In the books, the vampires don't shine like they do in the movies. Whenever they appear in the sun, it's as if their skin is burning. The first time Edward shows himself to Bella, she really gets scared and afraid; I know it's confusing how intense their love is in just a few months, but if you guys remember, in the last movie, Edward said that Bella's scent is like a drug heroin to him, just like vampire venom can become an addiction to humans. That's why they're so "fragile" in this movie, because in the months they've spent away from each other, it's like an addict going through a cleansing process, since they are both addicted to each other, Edward tasted Bella's blood to suck out the venom from James' bite and Bella, who in addition to having been bitten, constantly has contact with Edward's venom whenever they kiss, which also made her addicted (yes, the vampire venom, although in smaller quantities, is present in their saliva! The author of the books once explained that the venom works like a blood system, passing through the entire body like blood in the veins, pumping it throughout the body)! I'm looking forward to seeing the reaction to the next movies. Twilight is one of my favorite sagas!!! Love from Brazil ❤️

keep in mind when you start eclipse the reason they are always shirtless is because they run a temperature of over 100 degree. also it is more convenient when they have to transform into a wolf. one more note they cut their hair because the length of their hair determines the length of their fur. don't need them walking around looking like a mop in wolf form🤣😂.
