@@apolloisnotashirt I personally think it's basic mechanics are flawed. before with demon souls, dark souls 1 and 2 it was rather slow, bloodborne was faster and meant to be played agressivly which is encouraged by it's mechanics. later on Sekiro is about deflecting and for all intents and puposes it's not really a soulsgame. Elden Ring is just a refined version of dark souls 3. you can jump over and duck under certain attacks and the direction of your roll matters. in ds3 you don't have to worry about that because if you just press dodge at the right time and press r1 that's all you'll need. Elden Ring encourages the full use of a weapons moveset (especially when you don't use OP ashes of war) which ds3 just doesn't do. what it does have going for it though is the overall quality of bosses. some are masterpieces, other are kinda ok I guess but none of them are awful. the boss most consider the worst is the gravewarden dualist and that's basically the red wolf of radagon with an NPC. annoying but not Bed of Chaos level annoying or Gideon level annoying. it's also interesting thematically and story wise but that goes without saying. overall ds3 is solid and it walked so that elden ring could run.

Oh my God, I love the end of this piece of music. The violin (?) and the female vocals merge into a single heart-rending scream, showing that Rellana is giving her all to this fight. And damn it, I'd be a liar if I said it wasn't enough.

I might be wrong, but the song has that Yuka Kitamura signature to it. The violin / cello duet remind me a lot of Lady Maria’s OST in Bloodborne. It gives the same feeling of dancing back and forth with the boss. I quite like it

I don't care what people say nor how "unfair" Rellana is/was her boss theme is probably one of the best boss tracks in the DLC (and I would argue of Elden Ring in general) tied with The Promised Consort it's just so god damn f***ing good. They REALLY went all out with her boss theme just her boss theme alone has motifs of other bosses in Fromsoft's past games as well as from the base game. Right off the bat to show her relation to Rennala her first phase plays a little motif of Rennala's theme then once it reaches her second phase it incorporates a tiny motif of Placidusax and Lanseeax's themes or at to me anyway f***ing awesome and gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to this absolute eargasm holy shit. Not to mention also in phase 2 it sounds like they borrowed a tinybit of Slave Knight Gael's theme in there as well I could be wrong.

@@carloscorzo8935 OMG sorry if my comment came across as sarcasm, I was serious with my comment, Rellana is perfect when it comes to her moveset, she is 100% fair. Consort Radahn is fair, but he has that 1-2-X slash attack that is avoidable, but requires perfect frame roll & extremely fast response to the point it makes it feel unfair, but in reality it is an attack that I will call unrealistic to expect from players.

I finally did it! She's finally gone! Man the first 2 bosses (dancing lion and Rellana) have set the standards. I hope rest of the bosses will be as good if not better. Knowing fromsoft the next bosses will knock it out of the park!

those 3 singular high notes before the rest of the chorus follows right after GOES HARD... it brings me back a bit for some reason like DS3's vibe but I'm also here before I start the dlc myself and my only guess is another twin sword bossfight like Pontiff but I just wonder if it has an actual coordination in that sense or similar story beats that jump between this character and whoever else may be connected
