In the NICU - when twin babies are stable enough....we will often put them in the same isolette or 'warmer'. The babies gravitate to one another, and naturally want to be touching. We can have babies really stressed independently; but, when put together....more often than not....they are immediately soothed when they can touch and smell their sibling. It's SO awesome to see! 💜

I’m not sure about the hospital she went to or anything, but at the hospital I work at kids under 16 aren’t allowed to come in unless they’re parents, I’m pretty sure it’s a Covid related thing!

I was born 6 weeks premature and I had a conversation with my mom today about how it was being a NICU mama. She told me how hard it was going home without me, and how she went back to work and would visit me on her lunches. She wanted to send her love and say that you will get through it and it will be so amazing when you finally get to bring two healthy babies home. You and Eric are so strong. 🧡🧡

It makes me so happy to see Colleen chasing Flynn around the house because I know that her pain and lack of mobility was a huge stressor for her during her pregnancy as she felt she was missing out on bonding time with him. While it is heartbreaking not to have the twins at home, in a way I think it’s lovely that Flynn gets some more 1:1 time at home before they leave the NICU and the focus shifts to them.

Toddlers are smarter than some people believe. It's definitely a hard topic to comprehend when Flynn can't physically be in the environment, but using pictures and videos, making simple stories to explain where babies are, where mommy and daddy go when they leave to see them, having activities he can participate in like making pictures to put on their NICU beds and showing him that they brought them to the babies... toddlers tend to ask the same questions over and over to come to an understanding but they can grasp things like this in their own way.

I’m a premie twin! My twin brother and I were born three months early into the NICU and just like your baby girl I couldn’t breathe either. My twin and I were 2 lbs and 9 oz and I believe did about 11 weeks in the NICU. Fun fact I am now dating one of the NICU nurses that helped to take care of us son! You’re babies are going to have a great life as a twin and I want you to know that you sharing be this story has helped me to understand what my parents really went through and it has been so surreal and I appreciate you so much. You’re kiddos have the best gift in this world being a twin!!

Oh gosh, so small. But, my son was born less than two weeks early at a healthy weight and was only about 2 pounds heavier than them. They can definitely get there!

As a NICU twin myself, I have heard stories about my brother and my birth from my parents and although they have never told me how hard it was for them, your vlogs are a wonderful insight in to what it must have been like for them. hes been calling himself that way since he can talk, she explained it in a vlog that they always called him that because they didint have a name for him when he was born so they always called him baby, and kept it up even after having a name for him. So Flynn has always called himself baby flynn
