Whether you're in the training college or university, having the right support system can make all the difference in your academic and personal success. In this video, we'll discuss the different types of friends you should have in school and how they can help you succeed. So, if you're ready to learn, let's get started!
Tip #1: A study group.
Having a study partner or group can be a great way to stay on track and review the material more effectively. In school, Look for friends who are motivated, organized, and good at explaining concepts. For example, you might find a study partner who is particularly skilled at breaking down complex topics like “ managing patients with multiple chronic illnesses” or finding the value of x in a difficult mathematical expression/ or a person who is great at creating summary sheets from your bulky notes on flashcards. You could also consider forming a study group with a few classmates, which can be a good way to divide up the workload and cover more material in discussions and forums. Just that you have to always come prepared to a discussion group else you end up being confused
Tip #2: the supportive friends.
Tertiary education can be emotionally and mentally demanding, and it's important to have friends who can provide support and encouragement when you are feeling overwhelmed. These friends should be empathetic and understanding, and they should be able to listen and offer words of encouragement when you need them. For instance, having that friend who is always there to listen when you need to vent or who can offer a comforting word when you're feeling stressed. But don’t forget to give back when they need you as well.
Tip #3: The motivated friends.
Being in the company of friends who are dedicated to their studies can boost your own motivation. Seek out companions who are ambitious and determined, and who can assist you in staying on track with your objectives. When I was in university, I had a friend, John Kyere, who was highly motivated and helped me to excel academically. He always pushed me to strive for more, reminding me that there was always room for improvement and encouraging me to put in extra effort to achieve better grades. We all need people like that in school
Tip #4: Build relationship diverse friends.
Tertiary school is a great opportunity to meet people from all different backgrounds and perspectives. Building relationships with friends from diverse backgrounds can help you learn about different cultures and ways of thinking, which can be valuable in your future career as a you grow. Consider the potential opportunities that could arise from studying with someone who may have connections to your desired career path. Imagine if your study partner ended up being the child of the CEO of a company you aspire to work for, or if you had the opportunity to work with a future president in your study group. The possibilities are endless
Always Remember to surround yourself with supportive, motivated, and diverse friends to help you succeed in school. Good luck with your studies!
