@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 based off watching the first episode and watching all my favorite moments in the sub in the dub version. first episode definitely told me Eisen's EN VA was miscast. and every favorite moment of frieren i had in sub she sounded less emotional in the dub than the sub she didn't sound as childish as frieren is supposed to be. look if you were expecting me to be a sub purist then you barked up the wrong tree. i am not against dubs i am not even fully against the frieren dub as i said my grips are with eisen and frieren and to a lesser degree is the localization of frieren-sama to MISTRESS FRIEREN. like it doesn't work because the word mistress is more often heard in terms of romantic/affair/lewd situations. in my opinion a better localization would be MISS Frieren. still i am not here to be a snob about it. if you like it thats fine but i don't and i gave my reasons why

Perhaps one of the reasons why Ubel cannot copy Land's cloning magic is because she has been talking to clones the whole time. She said herself that she needs to relate to her target in order to copy their skills. It is very likely that clones, being imperfect copies, aren't that good at expressing the mage's emotions entirely. They're like robots with human facial expressions. They may look sad, happy, or whatnot, but there's something off and missing about them that makes you feel uneasy regardless (uncanny valley). She's thinking that she's seeing perfect replicas, but mayne they're only perfect replicas of nothing but clones.. much like production models or replicas. You can't tell them apart. But next to the original, you'll probably notice differences here and there.

I was so confused for a second bc her name is Übel and it's written as Ubel in the title. (It's a german word, like the names of most characters in Frieren. Frieren means freezing btw. Übel means ill or bad, Fern means far away, Stark means strong, and Himmel means sky. For those who are curious.
