Of course, people can play w/e they like, test builds etc. but for people who want to know: the build SRO played is _horrible_ in this game. His lane opponent has a million hp and fights are drawn out in general. Why not build Liandry's? The enemies have _three_ ad auto attackers (ashe, akshan, nocturne). Why not build thornmail? If you wanted to go for an optimal build for this game specifically, it would look something like: Liandry's > Dead Man's > Jak'Sho > Thornmail > Riftmaker Alternatively you could replace Dead Man's for Iceborn as the enemies are pretty immobile

I've been thinking that a potentially nice Udyr build would be Ingenious Tank with Hexplate and then throwing in a Kraken Slayer whenever damage starts falling off vs other tanks/bruisers. Get at least 4 points in Q and you've got solid attack speed, the Kraken gives you pretty high sustained damage, and the empowered Q lets you burst most people. Kraken just seems like it does so much damage once ramped up, but most champs that build it can never ramp it up because they build lots of other damage items so if they can hit a champ 6 times that champ is already dead. A tanky build with some decent attack speed and minimal other damage items would actually get 9 hits on someone making full use of the Kraken Slayer, surviving long enough, and being able to kill other tanks pretty easily.

I'll stop you right at "hexplate", the item is bugged on Udyr and triggers on every abilities including non awakened one, so it is basically always on CD which really sucks. It worked a few patches ago so idk what Riot cooked... Otherwise yeh putting one on-hit like Kraken Bork Terminus doesn't seem that bad

@@thomasb5307I thought it only triggered on awakened, but with Ingenius you've got 8 seconds of uptime then 12 seconds of downtime, considering it gives 15% move speed and 30% attack speed even if you can't control when it's triggered that seems well worth it for a tank who's going to often have fights longer than 10 seconds.

@@ZopiloteMachine yeh well I can see that working, I don't like the idea of taking ingenious hunter solely for one item but the MS is never wasted anyway so it's not that bad to lose it. But if Riot minded fixing it, it could really be a solid option, at least better than that shitty trinity force everyone is building on AD Udyr at least.

@@thomasb5307That's where other items with cooldowns come in, Unending Despair, Fimbulwinter, Spirit Visage would give you big heals+shields, reasonable resistances to magic and physical, lots of health, and a lot of damage with Udyr Q+Kraken.

one point in q means 2 normal q hits plus 2 awakened q hits, on an isolated target that's (pre-mitigation) 93% of their max HP in like 2.5 seconds (with 180AP), and you get 4 seconds of 90% more bonus attack speed, allowing you to get the awakened back up much quicker. So hard to watch him not have that option when it was all about being able to burst morde once he got low but before he got a giant shield up. One point. Or I guess 7% move speed for 1.5 seconds every 4.5 seconds and .4 seconds less target immunity on the 1 second stun. Not sure which is better, nearly their entire health bar in pre-mitigation mixed physical and magic damage, or slightly more speed and cc. Tough call.

@@proforenThe difference in opportunity cost between swapping out a whole item, and switching a single point from E to Q, is massive, especially since the only items he could reasonably have gotten were thornmail, which is useless vs morde, or morellonomicon, which only adds a bit of damage and survivability. Compared to having the ability to do around 35% of even morde's healthbar every 12 seconds or so, it's not even close. A single point in Q costs almost nothing and adds a tremendous amount to both burst and sustained damage, getting heal cut might have been worth the less optimal item stats, but it's questionable, the Q is irrefutably better than a 6th point in E.

One letter, Q. Get a single point in Q and instead of getting 21% max health AOE over 4 seconds on the awakened R, you can get 90% max health (mixed physical and magic) on an isolated target in 4 hits, then get another 3ish seconds of 90% attack speed, letting you get the awakened back that much faster, and you get another damage rotation of 16% max health damage in 2 autos every 4.5 seconds or so that gives you 20% attack speed for 4 seconds. It was all about killing a guy with a fair bit of health, who had so much sustain that slow ticking damage didn't do much. Bursting him from 35% to 0 (based on Morde's resistances at the end) in 2.5 seconds would be game changing, and sacrifice almost nothing (slightly less speed and more target immunity on e). Such an oversight not to get one point in Q fairly early on.

i love your channel and content and watch often, but today i cant handle the mic. your mic is turning on and off with your voice as opposed to always being open. it just emphasizes the wind sound right before and right after every sentence. if it was always on, my ears would just filter out the wind sound after a minute. its much less noticeable during a fight, but when you're talking during CSing or just walking across the map, its very obvious
