Believe it or not I paid e750 for a nice one bedroom apartmment with air, washing machine, and wifi back in 2020/21. It was on Borgo Santa Croce right around the corner from the piazza and right across the street from my language school! I found it on Housing Anywhere. I know that tines are different now. You can find apartments but in awful conditions and with prices like Milano when it’s not Milano. Owners don’t care about keeping up the property they are just milking the profits.

I live in Florence, Porta Romana. 1400e for a 2 bed/1.5 bath 80m2 and a 4x4 lease in great condition. What is the length of lease you're looking for? It took us about 1 month to get the contract through. They needed a crazy amount of money upfront, well crazy to me (7000e which included deposits) plus we had to have a cosigner although we fit the financial criteria. It was a lot of hoops. You really have to want to live here to live here cause it's harrowing. They dont make it easy. Really wishing you the best of luck on your search! This was a great video. Your videos are great because they are different from everyone else's. I've heard renting is a mess. And you are right about the quality of many properties. I'm looking to buy a place for $600k, and I look at the condition of some, even at this price level, and they are gross. It's a shame they are inflating the rents, because the current rental prices aren't in line with how much the properties are selling for on the market.

You contradict yourself: if even some 600k properties are "gross", why should the rental prices not reflect that? Both buying AND renting are expensive in Florence (provided that you find what you're looking for: few properties are put on the market for sale or long-term rental anyway).

@@Myria83 Actually, there are tons of properties on the market that never get sold because alterations have been done to the floor plan that wasn't approved by the municipality. Also, the price to rent ratios are out of whack. It's much cheaper to buy a property than to rent. But you need the capital.
