There's a huge fin whale has washed up on beach in kerry, its probably twice the size of this whale, council doesn't want to move it due to gas build up in the stomach in case it explodes. Its 75ft long the size of a ship. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXXSi3tvaLyrfdk

When i was a kid back in the 70s me and my brother played football with a brown square can that was washed up on Weymouth beach only for it to come open and it was a trip wire bomb, all intact with wires and 4 sticks of explosives. Took it to navy base only to be told to put it down and run away from it, bomb disposal came out all dressed up 😅

The munitions you found by the cliff face were BDU 33's. The colour designation, blue, donates practice / inert. These are dropped by various aircraft doing training runs on ground targets. I am an avid collector, of many years, from small munitions up to items of over 1 ton (ALL FFE and inert). My strong advice is to steer well away from anything you find that looks like a "bomb" or "grenade" , they can be highly unstable and likely to detonate at any time if touched. Get Bomb Disposal specialists out - dial 999 and report location.

Thankfully there’s contact numbers on the Mod information board as you go down the slope onto the beach and as you reach the beach being videoed at Mappleton. If I remember correctly? A couple years ago a couple from Sheffield found some practice rounds and took them home. I’m pretty certain that Hull daily mail and bbc look north covered the story, as someone reported them to the police when they were showing them? My father was a former Bomb disposal sergeant for the RAF who served his last two years at the Cowden range before retiring in 1997. Even I know when to steer clear from these when I take my dogs on to that beach

I was just talking to a work colleague about Cowden bombing range. Then I saw this video. Majority of the coastline where we used to park up has now fallen in the to sea. We used to sit in the control tower watching the jets dropping dummy bombs on a floating target out at sea.

I like this channel, these guys clearly enjoy what they’re doing and enjoy each others company which makes for great viewing and the locations they explore what’s not to love. One of the best channels of this type on KZbin. And the posts they’ve done with IKS Who are local to me are some great videos to watch. There’s some incredible places to explore underground in and around Dover. Ps, After WW2 there is footage of tons and tons of unwanted ordnance just being dumped into the sea and after time when the incendiary bomb cases have rusted away the phosphorus contents can float to the surface and catch fire. Never touch any type of military ordnance as it could be very dangerous.

You lads should have come down the coast a bit to where I live in Lincolnshire. There is a disused bombing range at Friskney (RAF Wainfleet), there are 2 anchored ships they used to bomb that look like swiss cheese, as there are more holes than ships left. you can see rockets, practise bombs & cannon shells everywhere. You did o.k anyway, though. great vlog guys. regards.....urban geeze.

I know exactly where you mean. As a Leicestershire child of the 80/90s we went on holiday to Ingoldmells every year, we used to see and hear the planes flying to the bombing range, most memorable were the A10s BRRRRT of the 90s Gulf War era. We used to go to Gibraltar Point, there was a wardens hut down near the sea that had a huge set of binoculars on a tripod, apparently from a submarine? We were told never to look at the targets (through the binoculars) when the range was active, as they used laser guidance, and it could burn your eye out!

There's a lot of roads that end in a steep drop off the cliff edge near where you were. I've seen them detonating unexploded bombs from that beach.

Great video as always. The poor whale looks like a young Sperm whale and that bone sticking out was it's mandible (lower jaw bone) but the teeth were missing.

Blue are inert, some were actually mortar rounds, some tank rounds and the first thing you saw was a rocket a early in the life of the range item, they were phased out early 60's
