Good video. I would suggest next time around at the pattern board you use a larger target sheet so you can confirm pattern center and see the whole picture. I am guilty of shooting the small turkey targets myself, but once you start using at least a 30”x30” backer for that target you’ll have a much easier time evaluating your choke and load combo. So much this. I have a roll of floor masking paper from the paint store i use, 4ft wide and as tall as i wanna make it, which is usually 4 to 5 ft. Helped my patterning a ton

Great comparison. With my particular 12 ga I get much better patterns with a specific brand choke with all ammo that I have tested with the best combination using the Federal tss. But don't overlook the winchester Longbeard XR as a really good performer at a reasonable price. (Maybe the best performer for the price of all of them)

I wanted to test some longbeard but I couldn’t find any. The Kent was a impulse by when I couldn’t find longbeard. I am running the stock choke currently because I am testing the Henry as is for my next video

Man I'm telling you what. I found those Kents 2 seasons augo. And i am not lying when i say i tried 4 of the heavy hitter brand and that $12 box of Kent out performed them all lol. I actuly ordered 5 boxes and just got them in. I'll be chambering the Kents in my shotgun

I have found I get a better pattern 40 and out with 3 inch vs 3 1/2 shells less weight the energy can carry better. You get the same powder in all the shell lengths just more shot.

Got extra full and extra extra full chuck tubs for its. Last fall I ran the Hatfield sas 12ga semi auto. With a bretta extra full chuck in it. Usly run winchesters super x #4 shot all year even for small game also got 2 3/4 federal #4 . Love Remington nitro turkey loads got one left for #5 use for all year work guns love them. Also have tried Remington nitro heavy-shot the tugson mix loading with 5-6shot.

Thanks! I learned a hard lesson a while back when I neglected to pattern a certain gun and it was throwing large donut shaped patterns. No more assuming for me .

That was helpful! I have been looking a video that would show a pattern at longer difference with TSS versus lead. What choke did you use?

If I get a lead sled, I may give that a try. As it was, that was a lot of 12 3 1/2” on the old shoulder 😂
