This is my review and reaction to the Spring Anime of 2024.

After watching the final episode of Kimetsu no Yaiba I am retroactively bumping it up a tier. This season was short and uneventful (for the most part), but the sheer visual spectacle was stunning. I will never doubt Ufotable again 😂

I generally agree with this list tho I will add "yuru camp 3", "Duke of death and maid 3" and "black Butler public school arc" to S tier Add "reincarnated as 7th Prince" "jellyfish can't swim at night" to A tier. I'm also one of those people that hate dungeon meshi and think it's one of the most boring shit ever. 😂 I'd also put demon slayer at B+ just because the anime original content adds so much compared to the manga.

I loved 7th Prince so much, easily tied for my favorite show of the season alongside The Fable.

Yeah upon sleeping on it, I'd probably raise Demon Slayer a tier. It did everything it set out to do even if the story arc wasn't incredible

Very fun video as always. Now I know I recommended Loser Ranger, but I do want to say that you should probably try the manga from the beginning if you're interested. The anime is unfortunately going through the Bailong arc at breakneck speed, so the pacing feels off, and the structure feels a bit awkward. I would talk about how exactly the adaptation fails imo but I don't want to make this comment too long. We should be getting cour 2/season 2 some time next year and the content isn't as hard to adapt, so this issue should be fixed hopefully. Very glad you enjoyed it anyway though :) I also agree with your thoughts on Dungeon Meshi, it was such a fun and interesting show in many ways and I absolutely cannot wait for Season 2, which should be fully adapting the manga if it's the same length as S1. Once again, great video, always enjoy hearing your thoughts.

Yeah the pacing can be very awkward... I think voice acting enhances this type of show a lot, but I might one day read the manga

I tried all the shonen + demon slayer but it just cant click with me for some reason idk why JJK did and CSM did, but anything else really just feels kinda repetitive. The execution of all these shonens are the same if not mindless combat, same could be said for jjk but the power system is good and the fights are fun to read/watch.

gonna go as far to say that the power system for demon slayer is down right terrible, the jump in tanjiros skill from the recent adaptations literally make 0 sense and thats a hill i think ill die on

Yeah the "shounen dark trio" (JJK, CSM and Hell's Paradise) have quite a different vibe from the usual shounen shows. If you haven't watched yet, try out Hell's Paradise you'll probably enjoy it

​@@OverlordDio I can't speak for those videos, but for this one the problem absolutely stems from the title. You named it "ultimate tier list" and its just a shallow pool of 9 shows with very little variety. You've got all shonen, action/fantasy, and then Spice and Wolf. I can definitely tell what you like (and there's no problem with that to be clear) but this list does not fit the title. You needed at least a few more shows from a few other genres to assess and compare. You could've possibly called it "ranking the most popular anime of spring 2024", because that more akin to what this list is. But even then it would've needed/benefitted from a few more entries to cover all its bases. Next time, if in doubt watch 3 episodes of a couple more shows so you could throw them onto the tier list to fill out space and get some variety. Its not a completion, but 3 episodes is generally enough exposure to adequately rank them on how you felt.

bro started talking about fillers naruto and bleach have you ever seen doctor connan its 441 episode of fillers man 400 episode it is longer than bleach itself and ive watched them all so now filler sin actually good anime dont even bother me at all its even fun to watch some bleach fillers are great same for naruto

I tend to judge anime based on what they set out to do, for example in Winter I had Apothecary Diaries and Solo Leveling at A tier even though they are completely different. This can make the lists a bit weird yeah 😅

@@heyheyhey1128 Any other season of Slime would be an easy A tier, this cour was just uneventful and poorly directed. Usually isekai is my favourite genre (the only exceptions being Mushoku and Shield Hero)

You got real quirky with the reviews this time lol. Woof woof anime waifus. Men beating on eachother's meat :D In regards to Mushoku Tensei, I've read 21 volumes of the LN and I regret ever starting it lol. It does absolutely nothing in terms of Rudeus redeeming himself. Also half of it is filler to bring up the volume count. I loved it in the beginning, but every since the Begaritt continent arc ended it has only gone slowly downhill. I wish I realized it earlier, because now i'm so far that I might as well commit to finishing it. In regards to Kaiju #8, Shinomiya best girl frfr. She gets great character development later on, and is easily my favorite character in the series.

I was ready to hate her, but Shinomiya pleasantly surprised me. The giant axe also helped the cool factor 😂

XD How has it go downfall after begaritt continent when the best volumes in the entire series is after volume 12 like turning point 4 volume 14,15,17 and 19 is literally so peak if you think that's a downfall that mean you have some reading comprehension and the fact you saying that you waiting for redues redemption tells me you read nothing from the novel with all due respect because the story isn't about redemption its about a guys trying to live his second life to the fullest without regrets.

​@Kratos_Sky I'm sorry for the earlier one word comment, as I was too impatient at the time to write a reply. To anyone else reading this, please note that it may have minor spoilers. I agree that the story has great peaks, I never said that it didn't. Vol 19 was easily one of the best books I've read this year, and vol 17 had great tension and the final fight was nuts. Vol 15 (I think) future diary was very emotional and I'm pretty sure I cried a lot lol. I agree Rudeus is currently just living his life without regrets, but that was not how the series started out at all. It all started off with him trying to work his butt off to become someone that he could be proud of when all is said and done. That's where my complaints come in, and I agree instead with OverlordDio. He hasn't gone through or overcome enough meaningful hardships. He has instead been handed over almost everything he could ever want on a silver platter. Just for example, the Laplace aspect. Also his wives, as they swoon over him when he does nothing for them, like they're bound to be his because he did one nice thing for them in their past. He also happens to have the most competent person ever as a Sister, she does a vast majority of the work with organizing and the like. She does a TON more than Rudeus ever does. Something else that is kinda unnecessary is the constant mentioning of Rudeus's bed life, as we all already know what he's up to in bed lol. On a side note, Vol 18 is a travesty, as most of what happens is unnecessary (the little tiny missions he goes on), Flashbacks (Juliette's life being recapped when we already learned what happened to her a few volumes back). Then there was the Doldia village bit, and the ending, both of which were needed in the story, but could have been added on to another volume. I feel like I'm just ranting at this point, so I will try to wrap this up simply. I feel like this series could have benefited from a good editor who could have removed the unnecessary parts, and overall trimmed it down to make it more poignant. It doesn't get to the point of the story when there are many other series that can get their point across constantly, in much less time, and without as much build-up. I'd rather spend my time reading those than reading something of less quality. That's why I'm so upset with this series.

@@ParaRevdHello again no hard feelings we always have this rush reply and then you know what you wanted to say in the beginning and sorry for the poorly writing skill because English is my first language. First of all iam going to talk about what you said about rudues have everything in a silver plate i disagree with you because the laplace factor is a factor that rare percentage of people are born with and guess what most of them couldn’t adapt with it due to lack of magic casting like rudues did from a young age that resulted to rudues gain the ability to cast magic without incantation and about the wives point (I recommend rereading their POV i think you missed reading them from the way you saying they are just obedient to him because he did one good thing in the past for them which is clearly wrong idk how you got to that point but iam sure your mind will change after reading them). Lastly i can agree with you in vol 18 because it was the weakest vol in the entire series but you can see it as a filler or a slice of life that no major thing is gonna happen on it and you can’t hate on the entire series from a single volume that was decent not great not bad either

@Kratos_Sky I didn't skip a word of these books, that's just my opinion on the wives. I don't hate hate the series, I still like it as a whole, and it will probably always stick with me for years, if not my entire life.

Besides what you said, I hate how in Mushoku Tensei characters don't really exist outside of Rudeus. If they don't interact with him, they just fall out of the story and get forgotten. Also, what are these "romantic relationships"? I can see it working with Eris, but the other two? Rudeus didn't spend much time with them, nor was there much intimacy. This is just some "school crush" stuff here, like Subaru has with Emilia.

This is how I summarize what the series becomes: Chill out and have a kid, go on an adventure, repeat. I've read 21 of the LNs and the romance never deepens, at least with Re:Zero Emilia and Subaru had that great bonding session in arc 4
