This is the best Cerberus demo video I have seen. I used one for about a year in 4-cable method with a Marshall DSL20HR, but eventually moved to a Boss MS-3 because I could change amp channel and voice on my Blackstar tube amp using a simple TRS cable and no need for a MIDI relay device. Aside from that, I LOVED how easily I could create presets on the Cerberus without layers of on-screen menus. Just twist the knobs, press Save, choose location, and press Save again. Piece of cake. And honestly, the Cerberus is pretty transparent sonically. Can't say that about the MS-3, which colors my amp tone and needed a couple hours' of tweaking the Global EQ to make it neutral.

Thanks Tim! Very kind of you to say. I do miss the Cerberus. A friend of mine really wanted it and I wasn’t using it. He’s happy, so I’m happy. But NUX makes some great stuff!

Hi Sean, this is probably the most useful video I have seen so far on the NuX Cerberus. I must admit I am a bit lazy and did not go yet into the documentation, always considering trying to manage the beast by myself should be an asset for finding things easier in the rush of a show. But sometimes you can't do anything without reading the book.. Well, watching your video I probably understood most of the "basic" things I was still missing after 1+ year of use of this Multi-Effects. Thanks a lot for that ;) Cheers!

Olivier Bodin you’re welcome Olivier! I’m happy the video helped you get more out of your Cerberus. It’s a very good pedal but with so much in out place it can be difficult if you don’t at least glance at the manual. But no need to worry now 👍 have an awesome weekend.

Excelente video , una consulta . Cuando uso el booster con la distorsion del amplificador no aumenta el volumen. Osea en el cerberus solo estoy usando el drive . Parece q solo funciona cuando está prendido la distorsion del pedal 😢, sabes por qué ?
@SeanPierceJohnson Жыл бұрын
¡Hola!

Great vid and sweet playing! Question: in preset mode, do the delays and reverbs trail off when switching between presets?
@SeanPierceJohnson4 жыл бұрын
hey man! honestly, I sold it to a friend sometime ago and can't remember off the top of my head but I'm inclined to believe it had trails
@sergioragonese64612 жыл бұрын
Great review!. I have a question: Does the tap tempo also works for setting up the time of the tremolo?. Or just the delay?.
@SeanPierceJohnson2 жыл бұрын
i believe it's only connected to the delay...but i could be wrong. i don't have the Cerberus anymore (gave it to a friend) so I can't test it out.

Just bought one last week. Totally love it, and the ease of use is just pure bliss! BUT still haven't found "the one" delay-setting for my use. I just love Petrucci-ish cheesy long digital delays with my soloing, so please let me know any good presets for that kind of use :D And thanks for an awesome video btw! Will definitely click subscribe-button and support your channel in future!
@SeanPierceJohnson4 жыл бұрын
thanks Matti! if you want the Petrucci delay, definitely go for the 80's delay and the Plate reverb

I’m looking for all-in-one pedal to run direct to PA. Would this work for that, or do you need a separate preamp pedal? I’m concerned that there’s no tone/gain controls when running clean...
@SeanPierceJohnson5 жыл бұрын
If you use the Cab Sim, some IRs work well is a filter for a clean tone. But usually I set the Overdrive to be mildly crunchy but can easily be cleaned up with the volume knob on my guitar. It's a simple work around that I think does a good job. And if I need some more cleanliness, I add a compressor.

In your honest opinion, does the effects sound better than individual budget pedals? I have around 400 dollars to make a pedalboard, so i'm torn between the Cerberus or individual pedals per se
@SeanPierceJohnson5 жыл бұрын
honestly man...it really comes down to your preference. For me, the Cerberus is a great option for grab-and-go gigging. I like that I can have presets, or use it like a normal pedalboard. But for my main rig I use single pedals...it's easier to change things up and if one pedal goes out I can still use my rig. But if you've never used pedals before, the Cerberus might be a bit of a learning curve.
@mattgilbert73475 жыл бұрын
You could build a killer rig with $400 for individual pedals.

Can you control the global tempo over USB to synch with a DAW?
@SeanPierceJohnson3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I never tried that. It’s not something I would think to do. If I remember correctly, you could actually adjust the delay in BPM rather than tap just by using the time Knob. Sorry I can’t give you a good answer.

Seems like a complicated unit compared to the Zoom G3N. Plus the Zoom has many more effects and is around similar price. Also the drive and distortion on this Nux is very harsh.
@SeanPierceJohnson3 жыл бұрын
it's actually quite easy to use. either it's the individual pedals or presets and very easy to program. the Zoom might sound good and be cheaper but lots of it is digital, am I right? it's not really an apples to apple comparison.
@mattgilbert73475 жыл бұрын
The drives are waaay too dark. The rest is great, except I'd prefer to be able to run phaser & univibe pre-gain. Order re-routing would have made this a much better unit. Needs a preamp in the loop (or upfront) if you're going direct.
