nice as always... on the source, do you think a humble portable setup like phone+dongle (fiio ka2 in ur case) is enough to get full potential of multi BA, hybrids, tribrids iems? I mean people spent crazy amount on DAPs from sony, ibasso, AK etc. If possible, plz make a video on dongle vs DAPs....regards
@rnarexperience Жыл бұрын
Hi SK, as much as I would like to make a comparison video, unfortunately I have not personally delve myself into the world of DAPs...yet? As my pockets are already filled up and the idea to carry another device that requires charging seems like a hassle to me at this point. Maybe sometime in the future~ As for the dongle, for me personally it was sufficient enough to power them, however I personally understand simply getting enough volume on them isn't necessarily "powering" them but I have not done an A/B test between dongles and full setup DAC/AMP however for me personally, the dongle was more than sufficient with plenty of room to go. Apologies for the long essay, hope the above helps. All the best!

I bought the Mini directly from Fatfreq in Singapore. I just can't justify paying the price of the SE, given the limits of my gear and general budgetary priorities. I dive into buying a few new IEM's every several years and then disappear from the market in between. I do enjoy a good deep bass presentation (especially subbass) and look forward to trying out the Mini.

I understand, the mini does a lot for bassheads and it still offers a bass experience that's quite addicting so you can go no wrong there :)

Is it worth the upgrade from my variations?
@rnarexperience Жыл бұрын
Hi SLEEPE, it really depends on a few factors. Do you prefer a full bass experience? Does the mid bass tuck on the Variations affect your experience? Then the SE would be a better choice. Does the SE sound 4 times better than the Variations as the price suggest? As I've mentioned in the comparison video as well, honestly no, you're only going to get very minor incremental gains (depending on what you prefer in your sound preference). Do you prefer more resolution? Is fit and comfort a concern? Then stick with the Variations. The above is simply a summary and I would be making a more in depth video in the future but ultimately it's up to you if you think the SE is worth the upgrade depending on all the points I've highlighted in all my videos. All the best!

I can't fit the maestro mini into my ear even with a smaller ear tip. They used the wrong ear tip, those white tips will lose bass and give excessive treble.
@rnarexperience Жыл бұрын
Hmmm have you try spinfit eartips? Those eartips seems to be the safest choice for me in terms of fit and comfort but different ears different experiences
@rendezvous009 Жыл бұрын
@@rnarexperience I own the spinfit cp-100, very comfortable on the kiwi ear cadenza and TFZ no.3, both give a lot better bass than the maestro mini, and overall the cadenza sounded the best, the cheapest and most comfortable of the three. Spinfit cp-100 will actually give more treble response, for that reason I don't use it on bright/mid forward IEMs. I prefer the large size OG silicone tips on the TFZ no.3.

Hello, is it confirmed that they added faceplates to the minis? I’m a little hesitant to buy them due to the IEMs not having faceplates
@rnarexperience Жыл бұрын
I'm assuming you meant the nozzle plates? Yes they've confirmed all current batches will have that.

@@rnarexperiencethank you for the reply! What is your opinion on the imaging of the minis? I’m looking to use these for gaming. I don’t need them to be top of the line, but something similar to the IE 300s which I’ve been trying to replace

That's it I'm buying the Mini. I usually end up buying 3-4 iems once every few months anyways. This time I will just club all those sub $150 purchase plans and get the mini instead.

With a more intimate stage and lacking treble clarity/resolution(thanks for mentioning), an IEM of MSE's cost(and failure rate) is not for me. The Mini would be the one to try. The bass on this $80 Jade JD7 is pretty insane, tho. . . And it has great clarity & extension! :)
@rnarexperience Жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for sharing your thoughts, though it's not to say it's totally lacking in those areas though, however if you're looking for U12T level of clarity then sure, it probably doesn't reach there. Interesting to know about the Jade JD7, i might check it out one day!

Sub bass but they lack mid bass so not really a basshead iem like legend x or sony ex800st with tape mod
@rnarexperience Жыл бұрын
Hmmm haven't heard either of those two so can't really comment but I feel the mid bass on the SE is powerful enough to pound your head off without sacrificing too much of the other frequencies but to each their own.

@@rnarexperience how much better is the mid/sub bass on the SE?
@nocy1781 Жыл бұрын
@@rnarexperience Onwer of both, have to agree with @Nell Nell on this one. Got my maestro se this week and I'm seriousely considering returning it now, quite noticable difference compared to LX bass and only thing that came close is sub-bass. Maestro SE is still a great set, but I would say it's only fair to call SE a basshead iem for non-bassheads, since LX is just out there at a similar price.
@rnarexperience Жыл бұрын
@@nocy1781 Hey there thanks for sharing your experience, I'm curious to know the term bassheads - would you consider a basshead IEM as having a) it's all about bass, quantity and quality over everything else OR b) Bass it the biggest emphasis in the sound, but others matter too. Or are there other descriptions to it? I might bring this poll out as well as I'm genuinely curious about this
@nocy1781 Жыл бұрын
@@rnarexperience Apparently it not "all about bass" otherwise a freaking $200 beats would suffice lol. It really sounds like the b) description you're giving me here fits LX very well, and bass performance wise MSE is really not really a step up. I'm basically saying is MSE sacrificed quite a bit of mid-bass for resolution and clarity which makes it sounds more like a better tuned Legend Evo rather than Legend X, might be hard to understand the comparison if you haven't demoed these 2 EE products. There are already many people prefer X over EVO for this reason even tho EE cosider EVO to be a "upgraded version" of X. For people that has ears more sensitive to mid-bass, I can see them pick LX over MSE/Evo. Well I haven't returned MSE yet because it's treble performance is absolutely top tier as a bass-y IEM, which make it a great all rounder with a lot of sub-bass. Might just keep it for this reason.
