I'm inspired by medieval, Tudor, and renaissance dress, and the artistic dress or aesthetic dress movements of the latter half of the 1800s! Also into the 1830s and the 1920s and 30s. Still exploring and experimenting with my style.

I have spent my entire life wanting to be an Edwardian era hobbit librarian, with forest witch overtones (colors mostly) I've only recently started to sew my own garments because it got harder to find items that I could put together and feel comfortable in at thrift stores (I haven't bought anything "new" new in decades). I have done some mending, and even some dyeing to get thrifted items to my liking before, but natural fiber fabrics are becoming rarer and rarer in the thrift shops these days and thus my sewing journey has begun. I only recently discovered your channel and I'm enjoying it thoroughly I feel like I've found my tribe!

Very practical info. I loved to see the overlays showing examples of what you own when you described the shop.

I really enjoyed hearing about your reasons for favouring vintage-inspired clothes. I love watching films and tv programs set in the 40s and 50s, almost as much for the gorgeous dresses as for the storylines! The 50s "fit and flare" silhouette looks so good on a curvy body, and I gravitate towards those looks to complement my shape rather than fighting against it. Like you, I never did get on with jeans. In fact, before I started sewing my own clothes I really struggled to find any trousers that fit properly because of the large differential between waist and hips. Now I've found a couple of trouser styles that work for my body, which is great because I find them so practical, so I make them in all the colours... I almost never buy any ready-to-wear these days, but I'm curious to look at the brands you mentioned, for style inspiration purposes.

Ooooh, another person with great fashion taste....I too love the style of that time period, along with the Edwardian time period. You make your own clothes as well,,, you should start a channel as well

I had no idea you are German! I am German in the UK too. I always admire your style and you look so cute. I am in my 50ies and currently “exploring” style, never had it and I want to discover what I love. I adore the 20ies and 30ies so I am trying to get some ideas for what I like. Great video.

Oh I loved this video Tally, thank you so much for all this! I would love to wear more vintage inspired clothing. The Edwardian is by far my favorite time period. I adore those lace blouse women wore back them. If I had to choose the it would be a combination of Edwardian and the 1940's. I own one white lace blouse that I call my Edwardian blouse bc it reminds me so much of that time period.
